This one is disgusting!! 85+% of our Army is not combat ready and he uses this poor fellow a a prop?!!

This what Obama said, at the end of the 2014 SOTU address:

I first met Cory Remsburg, a proud Army Ranger, at Omaha Beach on the 65th anniversary of D-Day. Along with some of his fellow Rangers, he walked me through the program – a strong, impressive young man, with an easy manner, sharp as a tack. We joked around, and took pictures, and I told him to stay in touch.

A few months later, on his tenth deployment, Cory was nearly killed by a massive roadside bomb in Afghanistan. His comrades found him in a canal, face down, underwater, shrapnel in his brain.

For months, he lay in a coma. The next time I met him, in the hospital, he couldn’t speak; he could barely move. Over the years, he’s endured dozens of surgeries and procedures, and hours of grueling rehab every day.

Even now, Cory is still blind in one eye. He still struggles on his left side. But slowly, steadily, with the support of caregivers like his dad Craig, and the community around him, Cory has grown stronger. Day by day, he’s learned to speak again and stand again and walk again – and he’s working toward the day when he can serve his country again.

“My recovery has not been easy,” he says. “Nothing in life that’s worth anything is easy.”

Cory is here tonight. And like the Army he loves, like the America he serves, Sergeant First Class Cory Remsburg never gives up, and he does not quit.

My fellow Americans, men and women like Cory remind us that America has never come easy. Our freedom, our democracy, has never been easy. Sometimes we stumble; we make mistakes; we get frustrated or discouraged. But for more than two hundred years, we have put those things aside and placed our collective shoulder to the wheel of progress – to create and build and expand the possibilities of individual achievement; to free other nations from tyranny and fear; to promote justice, and fairness, and equality under the law, so that the words set to paper by our founders are made real for every citizen. The America we want for our kids – a rising America where honest work is plentiful and communities are strong; where prosperity is widely shared and opportunity for all lets us go as far as our dreams and toil will take us – none of it is easy. But if we work together; if we summon what is best in us, with our feet planted firmly in today but our eyes cast towards tomorrow – I know it’s within our reach.

What matters is what Obama actually said, not what other people had to say about it.

Cory Remsburg is not a prop. He’s a reality. If anyone has ever earned the right to be singled out for national recognition by a president at a SOTU address, Remsburg surely has.

Do you find fault either with the fact that Remsburg was there as a special guest of the President and First Lady? Or with the fact that he was singled out for recognition and given a prolonged standing ovation? Or with what Obama said about him?

There’s no way that this was Obama’s moment, in any sense of the word. Obama turned to him like everyone else present, applauded him, and saluted him in front of the entire nation. What more could any president have said or done to make it a soldier’s moment?

It really burns me that people would be trying to diminish that. You’d think on some occasions they could drop the bullshit, just for a moment.

And those who have worn the uniform of our nation, and who can defend this Administration in any way, should take a good hard look at themselves.

Obama revealed the reason for that to anyone who bothered to listen. He had met Remburg before he was wounded, at the commemoration ceremonies of the 65th anniversary of D-Day near Omaha Beach. (Another moment that the right disparages.) Seeing the man before and after and knowing something of his recovery is a graphic lesson in what the words sacrifice and courage actually mean. Did you miss that obvious point?

Are his parents Democrats who worked to help get the Marxist in Chief elected?

Perhaps Obama should get out more often and visit our military hospitals. Everyone of those soldiers, like Cory Remsburg and Sam Brown, are a graphic lesson in what the words “sacrifice” and “courage” actually mean. There are many of them, Greggie, all fighting the “good” war for Obama in Afghanistan. Not one of them deserves more, or less, than the others. What they do deserve is a CIC that actually believes in them, and their missions.

Why does a ‘dislike’ of Obama and all he stands for, have to be personal hatred? I don’t think I ever feel a ‘personal hatred’ for anyone or anything, but I do have an intense dislike for Obama and his followers that are determined to destroy the US and the freedoms we have. I do actually believe that is his mission. I don’t think he will succeed because I think his handlers overplayed their hand with Obamacare and revealed that the ‘grand plan’ is to destroy the medical care system, the insurance companies and ultimately the financial system that is inherent to freedom. This overplay will stall their plans for a while, but not long.

I don’t believe it honors a flag or a uniform when they’re mentioned in a context that stinks like an outhouse. Particularly when the person being attacked has actually worn the uniform while defending the flag.

Actually, it makes it worse when a person that has worn a uniform while defending the country would so dishonor that uniform or constitution by his strong support of an ineligible person occupying the white house that is determined to do all he can to destroy that constitution and all the efforts that person has put into defending the country.
