During a sit-down interview with Krishnan Guru-Murthy for Britain’s Channel 4, Tarantino bristled when asked to explain his thoughts about whether movie violence can lead to real-life violence. “Don’t ask me a question like that,” Tarantino said. “I’m not biting. I refuse your question.”
After Guru-Murthy asked Tarantino why he refused to answer the question, the director explained in no uncertain terms what he thinks of his relationship with the media. “I’m not your slave and you’re not my master,” Tarantino sniped. “You can’t make me dance to your tune. I’m not a monkey.”
Undeterred, Guru-Murthy pressed forward, trying to connect Tarantino with comments Jaime Foxx made about movie violence. “You should talk to Jamie Foxx about that. And I think he’s actually here, so you can,” Tarantino smirked, before brutally deconstructing the junket interview process.
“I don’t want [to answer that]. I’m here to sell my movie,” Tarantino said. “This is a commercial for the movie. Make no mistake. […] I don’t want to talk about what you want to talk about. I don’t want to talk about the implications of violence. The reason I don’t want to talk about it? Because I’ve said everything I have to say about it. If anyone cares what I have to say about it, they can Google me. They can look for 20 years what I have to say. I haven’t changed my opinion one iota.”
This isn’t the first time Tarantino has snapped at an interviewer during the “Django Unchained” press tour. While speaking with NPR host Terry Gross, Tarantino said he was getting “really annoyed” with Gross’ attempts to connect the murders at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, Conn. with violent movies.
“I think it’s disrespectful to their memory, actually … to talk about movies,” he said. “I think it’s totally disrespectful to their memory. Obviously, the issue is gun control and mental health.”
Tarantino is rather unbalanced. I saw an interview where he said he thought he was the reincarnation of Shakespear.
1) Shakespear wrote his own stuff and didn’t steal like Tarantino does
2) Shakespear was talented
@Hard Right
You don’t know Shakespeare if you don’t believe he didn’t ‘steal’ ideas.
Ideas, of course. “Scenes”? Not so much.
Google “Tarantino plagiarized”
As well as idea and scenes – Shakespeare plagiarized whole lines…!

He is a deluded fool. He seems stoned with delusions about slavery in America. There has been discussion after discussion about slavery. Roots is an extremely accurate depiction of slavery, if we want to go into the movie realm. However, Roots was historically accurate while Django is a phony, as per usual, gratuitously violent slaughter flick, with nothing to offer. He thinks this garbage has “opened a dialog about slavery in America”. No, actually what this has done is provide proof positive Jamie Foxx is a flaming racist, who with his stupid comments on SNL, “I kill all the white people in the movie, how great is that?” Then went on to spew more racist crap, “Foxx then riffed that Obama’s first term reflected the president’s white side,” “and in the next four years we’ll see a blacker, cooler president named “Barack Dikembe Mutombo Tupac Mandela Hussein Obama X, how black is that?”. Tarantino, his racist BS movie, his racist front man, inciter of violence, Jamie Foxx add nothing to the conversation about slavery, they only thing they do is seed the attitude that killing white people is ok if it’s done to avenge slavery and finally it has served to add to the deep division between the races in America……….Shameful and pathetic.
Just another example of racism from the hollyweird, elitist, left.
How will QT react when gun control comes to the cinema?
@DAVID HENRY: OMG! They’d lose it! And as always, they want to limit 2nd amendment rights for us but their guards and security can still pack. However, the most important thing they forget is, the criminals will ALWAYS have guns.
