Surprise: County that ‘defeated’ Allen West had 141.1% turnout, West leads in recount!

Carl in Jerusalem @ Israel Matzav:

You may recall that I reported on Friday that Representative Allen West (R-Fl) has demanded a recount in St. Lucie County, Florida, one of the three counties that is at least partly included in his district.

I’m sure that you’ll all be shocked to hear that St.. Lucie County, which voted overwhelmingly for President Hussein Obama, had a turnout of 141.1% on election day. I’m sure you’ll be really shocked to hear (no sarcasm in that one) that West is leading the recount.

This is from the first link.

Out of 175,554 registered voters, 247,713 vote cards were cast in St. Lucie County, Florida on Tuesday. Barack Obama won the county.

When faced with the astronomical figures, Gertrude Walker, Supervisor of Elections for St. Lucie County, said she had no idea why turnout was so incredibly high. She was flabbergasted, saying, “We’ve never seen that here.”

Coincidentally (or not), St. Lucie County is also in Allen West’s district, where 6,000 votes mysteriously “shifted” from Mr. West to his challenger.

And from the second link, West now leads by 195 votes.
