Silly People Freak Out Over a Picture of a War Hero and a Gun

David French:

In some quarters of the silly, ignorant internet this picture is causing a stir:

That’s Dakota Meyer — a Marine who was awarded the Medal of Honor for action in the Battle of Ganjgal (you can read my review of his book here). If there is a man alive today who know how to handle a firearm, it’s Dakota Meyer.

Notwithstanding his expertise and experience, internet trolls freaked out at the proximity of his pistol to his baby daughter. Here’s how the Daily Mail described the picture:

In the image, the Medal of Honor winner appears to be getting ready to leave his house. While he can be seen adjusting the holster, Sailor is innocently sucking on her pacifier, unaware that a lethal weapon is mere inches away from her.

“Mere inches away” — the drama, oh the drama. But I must confess that I’m confused. Is the concern that Meyer’s infant daughter will pitch forward in her car seat, grab the gun while tumbling down from the kitchen island, and fire it while her father stands right next to her – completely helpless? Or is the concern that a baby is next to a gun — and everyone knows that guns just radiate deadliness and malice.

David French wrote some pretty terrible things about Donald Trump.
One of them:

The leaders of the party that ended slavery now endorse a man who bullies women, lies habitually, and incites violence. My heart breaks.
2:41 PM – 2 Jun 2016

So, is he now going to vote for confiscation – control of all guns – Hillary?
Or maybe Green Party gun control advocate Jill Stein?

Gun ownership should be appropriately regulated.
More local regulations; more background checks.
Reduce culture of violence via mental health & legal drugs.
Address community violence with more mental health services.
Gun at home more likely to cause injury than to defend home.

Perhaps (most likely) he is going with pothead Libertarian Gary Johnson who is for getting rid of the gun laws we have?
He, at least, believes in mass concealed carry!
He opposes the common sense gun laws the NRA stands behind.
No laws!

David French wants it both ways.
So, who does he support, or, since he was almost a candidate himself, endorse?

We need background checks for anyone running for public office or for anyone running for president,govenor,mayor or sanitation worker

Liberals are just a bunch of pansies too darn whining all the time

Keep in mind, these are the same people that don’t understand that the gun has to be held by a person, pointed at someone and the trigger pulled for someone to be hurt.

They are also the same people accusing everyone else of speeding fear.

@Spurwing Plover:
most states have very strict background checks. the former mayor of columbus, oh had felony charges but still carried a weapon-sorry that was the second, the first was in has pants and always loaded.

@MOS #8541: Was that Weiner who carried in his pants and was always loaded?

@Randy: I think he was half-cocked.
