Texas health officials said early Sunday morning that a healthcare worker at a Dallas hospital has tested positive for Ebola.
“A health care worker at Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital who provided care for the Ebola patient hospitalized there has tested positive for Ebola in a preliminary test at the state public health laboratory in Austin,” the Texas Department of State Health Services said in a statement.
The healthcare worker treated Thomas Eric Duncan, the first patient diagnosed with Ebola in the United States. Duncan, a Liberian man who contracted Ebola prior to visiting Texas, died last week.Further testing will be conducted by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention in Atlanta, the exas Department of State Health Services added on Sunday.
“The health care worker reported a low grade fever Friday night and was isolated and referred for testing,” the department said. “The preliminary test result was received late Saturday.”
Officials said the patient has been interviewed and any contacts or potential exposures are being identified. People who had contact with the healthcare worker after the symptoms emerged will be monitored, they added.
More at The Hill
It might be a cracked form of justice if this is the same health care worker who sent Mr. Duncan home with pills after he showed a 103.0F temperature and a history of being in ebolaland.
That said, I wish him/her the best and pray for a full recovery.
This is an excerpt piece of an ‘opinion’ I found while mining the web for information on Ebola.
Does the politicization ever end?? Even Medicine is now being Politicized –
Remember this is just a view point…however, I cannot believe the lack of common sense given to these ‘comments’ and where the blame always leads to…the blame is no where near where the blame should really be put…

We have now morphed from social justice to GLOBAL JUSTICE….
Makes you wonder where all the money we have been giving to THIRD WORLD countries for decades has gone to doesn’t it? (I highlighted one answer-below) Yet they keep making arguments for more money off of Americans backs….insulting…greedy…
I am sure PLENTY of people made money off the diamonds in Africa – and not ‘just’ corporations…but they don’t ‘mention’ that…
“Obligations ”
Later on in this “Viewpoint” the “high-income countries” morphs into the United States – no mention of ‘any other’ country….Why is it always Americans who have to save the world?
Research on EBOLA all (3) strains of it it goes back to 1976… (a new strain was discovered as recent as 1997) for the 4th strain of ebola.

CDC Director Tom Frieden had yet another good news conference today.
In it, he kept coming right up to the only logical conclusion – that we institute a travel ban – then backed away every time.
He did say: We have to rethink the way we address Ebola infection control because even a single infection is unacceptable.
During last Sunday’s good news conference he attributed the spread of the virus to a “breach of protocol,” with some accusing him of scapegoating the nurse on the frontlines of combating the disease.
But now he admits that was NOT true.
She followed every proper protocol.
Maybe it’s just easier to catch than CDC says it is.
