Yes, they’re actually claiming third-grade children wrote these lyrics and chose the topic as well. Because what eight-year-old child isn’t obsessed with class warfare?
Here are lyrics to the song:
Some people have it all
But they still don’t think they have enough
They want more money
A faster ride
They’re not content
Never satisfied
Yes — they’re the 1 percentI used to be one of the 1 percent
I worked all the time
Never saw my family
Couldn’t make life rhyme
Then the bubble burst
It really, really hurt
I lost my money
Lost my pride
Lost my home
Now I’m part of the 99Some people have it all
But they still don’t think they have enough
They want more money
A faster ride
They’re not content
Never satisfied
Yes — they’re the 1 percentI used to be sad, now I’m satisfied
’Cause I really have enough
Though I lost my yacht and plane
Didn’t need that extra stuff
Could have been much worse
You don’t need to be first
’Cause I’ve got my friends
Here by my side
Don’t need it all
I’m so happy to be part of the 99
This school must be in a really wealthy part of the country when 3rd graders have:
(1) Worked all the time.
(2) Never saw their family.
(3) Lost their money, home, yacht, and plane.
Now, they are satisfied because they really have enough.
Haven’t I heard this kind of stuff before? People getting rid of all of their money to join a cult. Or, maybe I’m thinking of the American wage earner.
This more teachers’ union handiwork infecting the educational system.
If you have enough… quit worrying about what others have or don’t have… be content… be happy… and if you don’t have enough… make the teachers pay!
Those third graders are really remarkable to write those lyrics.
Let’s give them all Nobel Peace Prizes (with their happy meals).
gimme gimme gimme
i don’t wanna work
gimme gimme gimme
i’m an ows jerk
you go ahead and bust your ass
said the grasshopper to the ant
i’ll hang back and collect the rewards
and claim i’m 99 percent
gimme gimme gimme
i don’t wanna work
gimme gimme gimme
i’m an ows jerk
why should i work when i could play
and get my government check
you owe it to me because i breathe
i’m a pathetic dreck
gimme gimme gimme
i don’t wanna work
gimme gimme gimme
i’m an ows jerk
What they mean is that someone who thinks like a child wrote it.
