Troubling numbers and facts from Soeren Kern at the Hudson Institute:

“Islamic mosques are being built more often in France than Roman Catholic churches, and there now are more practising Muslims in the country than practising Catholics.

Nearly 150 new mosques currently are under construction in France, home to the biggest Muslim community in Europe. The mosque-building projects are at various stages of completion, according to Mohammed Moussaoui, the president of the Muslim Council of France (CFCM), who provided the data in an August 2 interview with the French radio station RTL.

The total number of mosques in France has already doubled to more than 2,000 during just the past ten years, according to a research report “Constructing Mosques: The Governance of Islam in France and the Netherlands.” France’s most prominent Muslim leader, Dalil Boubakeur, who is rector of the Grand Mosque of Paris, recently called for the number of mosques in the country to be doubled again – to 4,000 – to meet growing demand.

By contrast, the Roman Catholic Church in France has built only 20 new churches during the past decade, and has formally closed more than 60 churches, many of which are destined to become mosques, according to research conducted by La Croix, a Roman Catholic daily newspaper based in Paris.

Here’s my response to Andrew Brietbart’s Big Peace article, which was cited as its source:

This report focuses on the increase if Islam, as opposed to the decline of Catholicism. In general, in Europe, the decline of belief in Christianity has been marked by a corresponding increase in atheism and agnosticism. This vacuum has been unfortunately been filled with another religion–Islam. But, it’s an error to thing that this increase in Islamism is in competition with a thriving Catholicism.

If you break a practice in Catholicism, you come to confessional, admit it, do a few Hail Mary’s and Our Father’s and it is all good again.
IOW, failing to be an active Catholic carries almost no penalty.

BUT, if you are a Muslim and you fail to follow the tenants of Islam you are branded an apostate and men who wish to go to Paradise paint a target on your back.
So, to me, the most surprising part of the article at Big Peace is the number of French Muslims comfortable with not even going through the motions.
Only 70% said they would observe Ramadan.
That means 30% of French Muslims eat during the day this month.
I wonder if that poll was taken before or after the German Member of Parliament was beaten for coming into a Muslim-owned restaurant (in Berlin!) during the day and ordering a meal?
He was beaten to within an inch of his life!
They knew he was a Muslim.

I saw a poll of French Muslim women a year or so after 9-11-01 where the ladies wanted to wear Western style clothes, date men of their own choosing, listen to music, go out of the house unaccompanied by a male relative and so on.
In all those areas the vast majority of these ladies were opposed to Islamic ways of life.
YET they admitted complying.
Family pressure to ”cover,”and beatings and forced marriages are not going away anytime soon in France.

I used to read this blog quite often. Now I’m convinced that it is in line with the lying MSM that want’s to hype the Muslims to look good for you know who. I’m not going to read this blog again anymore. Ever.

Facts:

According to a January 2007 poll by the Catholic World News,[228] only 5% of the French population attended church regularly (or 10% attend church services regularly among the respondents who did identify themselves as Catholics). The poll showed[229] 51% identified as being Catholics, 31% identified as being agnostics or atheists (another poll[230] sets the proportion of atheists equal to 27%), 10% identified as being from other religions or being without opinion, 4% identified as Muslim, 3% identified as Protestant, 1% identified as Buddhist, 1% identified as Jewish.

To think that in just a few years the majority of Catholics in France has disappeared is fantasy. But who would encourage such ideas? In 2007, Muslims in France were 4%. 4 years later we’re suppose to believe that they are a greater religion in numbers than Catholics; and that’s not the total number of Christians in France — declared Christians.

Goodbye nasty, lying blog.

@AdrianS: I’m not going to read this blog again anymore. Ever.
