Podesta Emails: Excuses for Not Releasing Emails, Conspiracies to Get Republicans to Release Their Emails

Ace:

Here Hillary co-conspirator Philip Reines games out “excuses” (his word) for not releasing emails under subpoena:

Here Team Hillary searches in vain for an “HRC warrior” in Congress willing to demand that Trey Gowdy release his own emails. But they can’t find one to do it: Because those Congressmen fear that they’ll be asked to release their own partisan-conspiracy emails in turn.

“The challenge is getting a member of congress to do it … because they think they will be called upon to make the same disclosure,” campaign adviser Jim Margolis wrote to Mook and Podesta.”I pointed out that they don’t believe private emails should be made public, so there is no hypocrisy,” he added. “But there is nervousness just the same.”

You know how Democrats are always claiming that Islamic Terrorism isn’t Islamic, but is a twisted bastardization of a great religion?

Well, they think the same thing about Catholicism that holds to old teachings about traditional gender roles.

The Wikileaks hack of the e-mail system of Hillary Clinton campaign manager John Podesta has produced plenty of strange moments, but perhaps none stranger than a 2011 discussion of Catholicism in which Podesta himself played no part. The brief exchange between Jennifer Palmieri, now Hillary’s comms director but at the time working at the Center for American Progress, and CAP fellow John Halpin sounds so bitter and offers such silly arguments about Catholicism that it looks fake. If legit, these hacked e-mails provide a rather disturbing look into the minds of Hillary’s brain trust when it comes to Catholics, especially conservative Catholics.

The subject line is “Conservative Catholicism,” but the antagonism goes broader than that:

Ken Auletta’s latest piece on Murdoch in the New Yorker starts off with the aside that both Murdoch and Robert Thompson, managing editor of the WSJ, are raising their kids Catholic. Friggin’ Murdoch baptized his kids in Jordan where John the Baptist baptized Jesus. Many of the most powerful elements of the conservative movement are all Catholic (many converts) from the SC and think tanks to the media and social groups.

It’s an amazing bastardization of the faith. They must be attracted to the systematic thought and severely backwards gender relationsand must be totally unaware of Christian democracy.

Note that this doesn’t allege that conservative Catholics have “severely backwards gender relations,” but that conservatives get drawn to Catholicism because of this supposed feature.

Sarah Westwood earlier posted the top 14 (as of the date of publication) revelations in the Podesta hack.

Here’s Number One: Clinton admitted in one of those secret speeches that Jordan can’t possibly screen all those Syrian refugees to keep out terrorists, and that surely terrorists will flow into Jordan.

But the US, she maintains, is somehow better at screening people against data files that do not exist and mostly have never existed.

Clinton told an audience at a luncheon for the Jewish United Fund Of Metropolitan Chicago Vanguard in Oct. 2013 that the flow of Syrian refugees into Jordan had put that country’s security at risk.”There’s a discussion going on now across the region to try to see where there might be common ground to deal with the threat posed by extremism,” Clinton said, according to paid speech transcripts included among Podesta’s emails.

“And particularly with Syria which has everyone quite worried, Jordan because it’s on their border and they have hundreds of thousands of refugees and they can’t possibly vet all those refugees so they don’t know if, you know, jihadists are coming in along with legitimate refugees,” she said.

Clinton has called on the U.S. to accept 65,000 Syrian refugees, a dramatic increase from President Obama’s proposal of 10,000.

If you haven’t seen Republican Debate Moderator, the fair and balanced New York Times reporter John Harwood, fawning over Hillary and bragging to that campaign about how he tripped up her would-be Republican opponents on her behalf, do check that out.

In a December 2015 email to Podesta, Harwood bragged about his much-criticized debate performance in which he asked Trump “Let’s be honest, is this a comic book version of a presidential campaign?” Harwood titled the email “I imagine”‘ and continued the sentence in the body of the email, writing, ‘…that Obama feels some (sad) vindication at this demonstration of his years-long point about the opposition party veering off the rails.’

“I certainly am feeling that way with respect to how I questioned Trump at our debate,” Harwood continued.

That is, he feels the same “vindication” Obama does at “this demonstration” that the GOP is “veering off the rails.”

In May of 2015, early on in the Republican primary process, Harwood sent Podesta an email telling him to “watch out’ for Dr. Ben Carson. The subject line of that email read, ‘Watch out.” “Ben Carson could give you real trouble in a general,” Harwood warned.

His obsequious fawning and throne-sniffing of Hillary Clinton is disturbing to read.

Shortly after the Clinton email controversy first broke, Harwood sent an email to Podesta and another Clinton staffer with the subject line “FYI.” In it was the text of a tweet that he had sent downplaying the scandal.

Here’s the email he sent to her to let her know he was on Team Hillz:

The pathetic eunuch courtier wanted to make sure the Haggard Queen knew all the favors he was doing for her.

Remember, this is the guy who CNBC deemed to be an impartial, objective moderator at the debate. There was no “designated conservative” to balance him.

Roger L. Simon has a good article about all of this.

WikiLeaks Exposes Workings of an American ‘Nomenklatura’The nomenklatura (literally “name list”) was one of the indispensable components of the former Soviet Union. It was indeed a literal list of those–almost always devout Communist Party loyalists–who would receive the favors of the state while the proletariat, those supposed “dictators” of the new paradise, lived in squalor and waited in bread lines.

This list was so meticulously kept Stalin was known as “Comrade Filing Cabinet.” You were either on it or off. And those who fell off, for whatever causes, real or imagined, were usually headed for the Gulag. The nomenklatura kept everyone in line.

In my book–I Know Best: How Moral Narcissism Is Destroying Our Republic, If It Hasn’t Already–I devote a chapter to the rise of a far more subtle and less overtly totalitarian American nomenklatura, one that may be more effective and enduring in the long run (and thus ultimately more threatening to democracy).

WikiLeaks, in its downloads of the “PodestaEmails,” in essence confirms the existence of this American list “who is on and who is off” and reveals its workings in remarkable detail. More downloads are on the way. But what we have already has gone a long way to demonstrating how the people of this country have been lied to and deceived for the preservation of this nomenklatura and its power. We owe Julian Assange and his cohorts a debt.

Most evident from their downloads is the unremitting, almost incestual, alliance between elites (read: Democratic Party leadership) and the press, those who are informing us of what we are supposed to think. The myriad emails between New York Times reporter and CNBC anchor John Harwood and Clinton campaign manager John Podesta would approach the risible were they not so disturbing by implication. Presidential debate moderator Harwood, putatively a journalist, actually acts as an advisor to Podesta in them, warning the campaign manager of the dangers of a potential Ben Carson candidacy and even bragging to him about having tripped up Donald Trump at a debate.
But the presidential debate moderator is far from alone in his fealty to the ways and means of the nomenklatura. The New York Times and the Boston Globe–the emails show, as if we hadn’t guessed already–colluded with the Clinton campaign.

But the level of collusion goes much deeper than press and politicians. The Department of Justice itself–the emails also reveal–was in private communication with the Clinton people during the investigation of the Hillary Clinton homebrew server, warning her campaign in advance of a State Department release of emails. Everybody was colluding!

The piece raises the question that, while Wikileaks is a consortium of illegal hackers doing illegal hacks — it has to be remembered that many of the people being hacked were required by law to disclose their work-related emails to the public, their actual bosses, and conspired (and broke the law) to avoid doing so.

(The Podesta emails seem to not have been legally demandable by the public, absent a court subpoena.)

When people such as Hillary Clinton break the law with the willing participation of the Justice Department and FBI to hide from us information which is legally ours, exactly what privacy rights of theirs are we expected to defend?

Breaking: A new disclosure just dropped.

It has long been my contention — you may have noticed — that most of the NeverTrump movement, which claims to be against both Hillary and Trump “equally,” is in fact full-on pro-Hillary.
