Trump-supporting Pentagon analyst was stripped of his security clearance by Obama-appointed officials after he complained of questionable government contracts to Stefan Halper, the FBI informant who spied on the Trump presidential campaign.
Adam Lovinger, a 12-year strategist in the Pentagon’s Office of Net Assessment, complained to his bosses about Halper contracts in the fall of 2016, his attorney, Sean M. Bigley, told The Washington Times.
On May 1, 2017, his superiors yanked his security clearance and relegated him to clerical chores.
Mr. Bigley filed a complaint July 18 with the Pentagon’s senior ethics official, charging that Mr. Lovinger’s superiors misused the security clearance process to punish him. He said his client complained about excessive “sweetheart” deals for Mr. Halper and for a “best friend” of Chelsea Clinton.
“As it turns out, one of the two contractors Mr. Lovinger explicitly warned his ONA superiors about misusing in 2016 was none other than Mr. Halper,” Mr. Bigley wrote in his ethics complaint, which called the contracts “cronyism and corruption.”
Mr. Lovinger filed a whistleblower reprisal complaint in May with the Defense Department inspector general against James Baker, director of the Office of Net Assessment. The complaint also singles out Washington Headquarters Services, a Pentagon support agency that awarded the Halper contracts totaling hundreds of thousands of dollars.
Why would the “most transparent and honest administration in history” punish someone for revealing corruption?
you can get your clearance yanked if you are in serious debt (which is a red flag for those who are looking for spies), and for violations such as spillage (sending classified information over an unsecure network NIPR/SIPR). You can get your clearance yanked if you are a clear and present danger which IMHO brennan is. The question is, since it has been known he passed information while still the CIA director, what type of classified information has he passed to the fake news networks since he left? None of these people should retain their clearances once retired or they have quit. If they require a clearance if they get a government contractor position, they should go through the process again. -and yes they still have access to information and if they retired/quit as a high level official they are patronized and given access to which they probably should not be given, but are. When is everyone going to realize that the Obama intel people weren’t just tasked with spying on the Trump campaign. They were trying to ENTRAP the Trump people into offering money or favors for dirt on Hillary. If it had worked, we’d probably have a different President today.
@DaNang67: Oh, they were definitely trying to undercut Trump’s campaign. It appears they didn’t have as much confidence in Hillary winning as the media and pollsters did. Obama was hedging his bets. Hillary needed some BIG help overcoming, well, Hillary. So Obama ordered spying on the Trump campaign. Sadly, Trump was clean. Clean as a whistle. That may have come as a surprise then, but we can see it clearly now; Trump is dedicated to trying to make the nation strong and great again.
So now the plan is “guilt by association with an investigation” only dragging this so called “investigation” is hurting their cause. The true goal is becoming more and more obvious to more and more people.
