Allah:
I owe the MRC an apology for doubting them. I read this piece assuming all the way through that they had misconstrued what must be a perfectly innocent glitch by the White House in translating Hollande. Nope. Watch the official WH video below (starting at 3:20) and follow along with the official WH translation and you’ll see how hard it is to come up with an explanation different from theirs. The audio on the clip perfectly tracks the transcript — except when it cuts out for exactly two sentences and then resumes:
But we’re also well aware that the roots of terrorism, Islamist terrorism, is in Syria and in Iraq. We therefore have to act both in Syria and in Iraq, and this is what we’re doing within the framework of the coalition.
I’d chalk that up to a glitch if not for the fact that it jibes with Obama’s own notorious policy ofnot mentioning Islam in connection with jihadism. If that’s his rhetorical preference, okay; it reeks of embarrassing political correctness but it’s his prerogative to choose his own words. It’s not his prerogative to choose someone else’s words, particularly when that someone is a foreign head of state whose country is dealing with a more severe jihadist threat right now than the United States is. They’ve actually reached the point now where they’re blacking out references to Islam for English speakers in official state video of talks over terrorism. (At least they’re not censoring transcripts. Yet.)
Erdogan came to the US and visited a ”think tank’ yesterday.

Erdogan’s guards came outside the meeting and attacked the Kurdish protesters and JOURNALISTS who were covering the protest.
Erdogan’s thugs grabbed protesters, destroyed their props, beat them and the journalists who were there, too.
Why hasn’t Obama had them arrested and sent packing out of our country?
Turkey buys oil from ISIS using US cash.
Turkey accuses the Kurds and Yazidi of being the enemies (along with Israel) when ISIS bombs inside Turkey.
Turkey bombs, not ISIS strongholds, but, Kurdish civilian and Yazidi civilian populations inside Iraq.
Last century there was a musical called Topsy Turvy about how The Mikado was created.
We are in a totally topsy turvy world.
The White House.gov did not dare to censor this line, but the traslator did.
The Library of congress is removing the term ”illegal alien” as a search feature there.
Our police stand by silently as Turkey’s thugs oppress America protesters on American streets.
A guy tries to tout Black Lives Matter on a Chicago street only to be gunned down live on Facebook.
It almost adds up to what worries Obama most: an existential threat to America.
And I guess they’re having a lot of problems translating the Cuban newspaper head line addressed to Obama, saying “Negro, Are you Dumb” in Spanish
I’ll bet they will NOT shout ‘racist’ to that newspaper. I’ll bet they will NOT demand an apology.
Everybody knows the terrorists in question are Islamist terrorists. Do you need to be constantly reminded so this doesn’t escape your minds? Or do you just want to hear it said every time, for the sake of alienating the 99.9 percent of all Muslims who do not support terrorism, and who are in far greater personal danger from it than nearly all Americans will ever be?
Do you think alienating that 99.9 percent is somehow helpful in the war against Islamic extremists?
Name one time when Obama referred to the terrorist as Islamic terrorists!
@Greg: If we ALL know it, why would merely saying it alienate anyone? To believe that NOT stating the obvious fact that radical Islamists account for 99.999% of all terrorist attacks is absurd political correctness which only makes this President appear even MORE foolish.
Thinking that suppressing what the President of France says (I guess he isn’t worried about alienating anyone) does anything at all but, again, look foolish is itself foolish.
@Greg:
Correction. I don’t think Obama knows. He never utters it.
