I find it strange that the Obama campaign would be making so much of Romney’s income from foreign sources when Obama’s foreign source income appears to be a much bigger percentage of his income over the last few years. Of course, one can’t tell for sure because Mitt Romney has not released his 2009 tax return.
Yet in the three tax years in which Barack Obama has been President (2009, 2010, and 2011), fully 30.1% of the Obamas’ gross income has come from foreign sources: ($2,711,340 out of a 3-year total gross income of $8,993,449). In 2009, 26.5% of the Obamas’ gross income came from foreign sources. In 2010 it was a whopping 41.4%, and in 2010 it was 30.2%.
The salary that we taxpayers pay him as President (just under $1.2 million over the 3 years) accounted for less than 13% of the Obamas’ income, a share dwarfed by their 30% from foreign sources over the same period.
From 2009 through 2011, the Obamas paid $87,429 in foreign taxes, which they applied toward a credit to reduce their U.S. tax bill. The amounts I examined are reported on Form 1116, of which there are two filed along with their 1040 when they had both general and passive foreign income.

And this is currently, not ancient history!
Do Obama’s handlers even know that everything they’ve said has bounced back to hurt Obama and Debbie and Nancy and Harry far worse than any dent they put in Squeeky Clean Romney?
Barack wrote a couple of best-sellers that sold pretty well overseas. Michele put money into a domestic firm that invested overseas and made money for Michele, a passive beneficiary. She has made a few thousand from her investment.
This whole Bain thing is part of 0-bama’s strategy. Every day that goes by between now and the election and jobs and the economy are not at the forefront of this election is a day closer to America being stuck with our current Failed President!! Sadly the MSM is more than accommodating. Sad and disgusting behavior but then again, not surprise!!
Something that liberal/progressives will not understand is that conservatives don’t give a damn where Obama’s income actually came from, as long as it isn’t illegal. What we care about is liberal/progressives crapping all over another person, or persons, for the source of their income while deliberately overlooking their idol’s sources.
For the record, that is hypocrisy, and seems to be an inherent trait of all liberal/progressives. Of course, that isn’t surprising considering the fantasy worlds they live in.

How bout Mike Trout? The best all around outfielder since Mays and Mantle
We got 4 1/2 long months of negative campaigning and wasted millions that will come down to a few thousand votes in Ohio or Fl. to pick between TWO MODERATES.
@Richard Wheeler:
Sorry, Rich. I was with you up until the point you called both Romney and Obama “moderates”. I’m beginning to understand why you have such a disconnect from others here. Obama is about as far away from being a “moderate” as we’ve ever had as President. And if you cannot see that, then you are being deliberately blind to what he and his admin have done over his term thus far.
J.G. Figured that would raise your ire oh great hater of all things “liberal/progressive” Fact is, moderates will decide this election. If Obama wins it will be because the broad middle of the electorate decides to stay with him and reject the far right influence re tea party on the Repub.Party.It’s a true toss up.
@Richard Wheeler:
Again, I was with you up until a certain point. In this case, when you described it as “far right influence, ie tea party on the Repub Party”.
The TEA party is NOT a FAR right influence, Rich, but rather, an influence attempting to exact RESPONSIBLE spending by Congress and the government, and fairness based on opportunity, not result. That you believe it’s a far right influence is testament to the amount of crap you have swallowed via the liberal/progressives.
j.G. Let me rephrase. If moderates and indies perceive Tea Party types like Palin and Bachmann to hold any significant sway over Romney he will lose.
Ofcourse if these same voters perceive BHO to be the raving socialist portrayed by many here at F.A. he will lose. We’ll see. It’s gonna be close.
Btw I doubt if Romney will invite either lady to the Convention.
O FF SUBJECT Romney will be in Ohio Thurs. campaigning with Portman and Jindal. Will he announce his Veep pick??
@Richard Wheeler:
I wouldn’t expect him to, Rich. Despite the sudden turnaround by the MSM, and other liberal/progressives everywhere on Romney, he is still far to the left of the typical conservative, and he probably believes that he has the conservative vote “in the bag”, so to speak. I would suggest to him that he be very careful of what he does and says or that vote will stay home.
BTW, I believe myself, Mata, and others all told you how the left would turn on Romney, either after the convention, or once his nomination was all but assured. Before, it was all about Romney being the most “moderate”, or the “most electable”. Now all of the sudden he is a raving right-wing lunatic. That alone ought to tell you how disingenuous the MSM actually is.
J.G Mitt is a milktoast moderate which is why he’s got a good shot at beating Obama.
Other than Mata I’ve seen no Conservatives here with the STONES (sorry Mata) to distance themselves from the Mass. Mod.
