Brent Bozell:
Why are liberals in so much denial about liberal bias in the news? Why do they think they’re bending over backward to be “objective” doing that which Republicans see as partisan activism?
Daniel Froomkin of the Huffington Post – formerly of The Washington Post – suggests an answer. He is exactly the kind of liberal agitator in the newsroom who wants every news story to be a blazing editorial. Every reporter must divide the world clearly between Liberal Sense and Conservative Nonsense. His latest article is titled “Writing a Neutral Story About Something So Heartless As the Food Stamp Vote Is Not Good Journalism.”
On September 19, The New York Times reported “The Republican-led House yesterday voted to make deep cuts to the food stamps program that has kept millions of American families from going hungry since the recession hit, saying its response to growing need was instead a sign of bloat and abuse.”
In short, Democrats keep families from starving. Republicans reject “growing need” as “bloat.”
Froomkin argued that attempting objectivity, like quoting awful Republicans, creates horrendous “triangulating mush” that fails to educate voters. The Republican food-stamp vote was for him “a blatantly absurd and cruel move [that] struck me as a good test of whether the Washington press corps could ever bring itself to call things as they so obviously are — or whether they would check their very good brains at the door and just write triangulating mush that leaves readers to fend for themselves.”
Republicans should complain that while the Times story contained spending numbers and quoted both Democrats and Republicans, it contained the usual liberal media bias – indeed, editorial slant – in favor of social programs growing by leaps and bounds, forever and ever. But Froomkin was livid at the Times. “Like those at essentially every other mainstream news organization, they wrote it straight. They focused on procedure. They quoted both sides. And they called it a day.”
Froomkin characterized Republicans quoted in the Times as either “fabulously disingenuous” or “shockingly dishonest.” Froomkin would prefer these fools be banned entirely from the news pages, unless they were tarred and feathered in print as unhinged extremists. Only that socialist view is the “truth.”
Rep. Marlin Stutzman was “fabulously disingenuous” to insist that anti-poverty programs be measured by lifting people out of poverty, not just increasing spending in an era of trillion-dollar deficits. Somehow, he’s the irrational one.
But when Republicans talk of dramatic spending increases in a news story, Froomkin faults reporters. He claimed it contrasts “a nonsensical non-argument with a fact, and makes it sound like two equal sides.” The Democratic “fact” was that the dramatic increase showed “the program was doing its job.”
Yeah, I wish that ‘liberal media’ would stop all the time they spend on the evils of Fracking….Oh wait.
Propaganda is most successful with those who are incapable of independent thought. For them, propaganda functions as a crutch for the cerebrally palsied. It allows them to have a belief system and a frame of reference in an otherwise unoccupied mind.
New ideas and thoughts that stray from the official dogma elicit scorn, senseless epithets, and deep breathing, as they contemplate the horror of thought that runs counter to the party line.
Let them cloister themselves in their own mental prisons, they can throw their insults like primates tossing feces; we can pity their frail intellects and move on to more important matters.
SKOOK
you gave a key WORD which is the culprit of all the failures of the LIBERALS,
from top to bottom,
that word is ” PITY ”
the REPUBLICAN CONSERVATIVES have too much PITY, it prevent them to expose the failures
as it should be , because it prevent the uninformed to learn how much they are neglected by the ADMINISTRATION, who is totaly responsible to the lack of JOBS in all the USA,
PITY for the LEADER WHY ? he has a job very well paid, and spend irraticly ,
THE TAX PAYER’S MONEY, as if there is no tomorrow, pity on him ? because he has failed? NO,
AND PITY YES, for the civilians who cannot find a job because the LEADER is creating obstuctions to the business who would hire if he was not in their faces with his AGENCIES PAID TO TORMENT THE
creators of jobs, those agencies are following OBAMA’S
ANTI AMERICAN, MINDSET TO PUNISH THE SMARTER THAN HIM MAKER AND ACHIEVERS OF AMERICA
YES THAT IS EXTREMLY PITYFUL
Why are liberals in so much denial about liberal bias in the news?
When a media is spreading your own propaganda, you agree with everything they say. The propaganda media is saying everything the liberals want it to.
I think at last count 15 “journalists” have joined the obama administration. The infiltration of liberals in media is deep and nothing new.

I think it has gone further than that. Our schools, congress, and white house have also been infiltrated, with the intent of turning our USA into a non-free country. Signing of the UN Arms Treaty is one example of us turning control over to the UN.
A lot of federal property has been partially turned over to the UN in joint management. Most of our national parks are under The Convention Concerning Protection of the World Cultural and Natural Heritage control. I think it was Yellowstone National Park that I saw a sign that said the UN and the USA managed it. The UN is gaining more control of us all the time.

that’s the UN goal since they begun, and I’m sure the medias have shares from the ARABS
who’s presence is getting obvious by just reading th0se who work in there , the money bought their words, to oblige their demands,
do we find their over protection of OBAMA , normal for JOURNALIST, along with that tingle in the leg?
who are suppose to be telling the truth?
thank GOD FOR FOX NEWS, the only one we CAN TRUST,
According projections from the Congressional Budget Office, SNAP is currently expected to spend $764 billion from 2014 through 2023.
That’s $76.4 Billion a year.
Republican members of the U.S. House of Representatives are considering legislation that would cut the program $40 billion over the next 10 years.
That’s $4 Billion a year.
For several months in 2011 the federal government ran ads to try to get even more than the one in seven Americans onto Food Stamps.
Obama turned a program designed for families into one where single people could qualify.
It is this kind of thing these cuts…..back to 2009 levels…..will stop.
We spent only $34.6 billion at the end of fiscal 2008.
But Obama had the country up to spending $76 billion in 2011.
All the bill does is take that back to $72 billion a year, nothing ”draconian” about it.
I believe that the key damning phrase was “just write triangulating mush that leaves readers to fend for themselves.”
Can’t have the citizens deciding for themselves with all of the facts, can we?
No, we need “experts” to decide what we should think.
I can say, how uplifting it is here to be among such bright brains expressing their knowledge AND FREE, for the good of other who do not learn anything worthy in their school,
making them go home after hours very frustrated of not having progress into knowledge one iota,
and having to go back in the day after for an insificant day lost in their lives,
HERE AT FLOPPING ACES, anyone who come end up learning the TRUTH,
EVEN THOSE WHO TRY TO LIE GET STRAIGHTEN OUT, AND IT GIVE THEM A QUESTION AND ANSWER WHICH IS: GEEZ I DIDN’T KNOW THAT, AND I DIDN’T KNOW THAT EITHER,
AND I DIDN’T KNOW THAT THEY WHO TOLD ME WHERE A BUNCH OF LOUD MOUTH LIARS,
@ilovebeeswarzone: #10
Where I live I have several police officers close by, and I have no idea how many civilians with guns, and I feel comfortable, because the area is well armed. I am also comfortable at FA because it is also well armed, but with the TRUTH. Keep ammo in your guns, and the truth in your heart. obama is trying to keep the ammo from your guns, but he can’t keep the truth from your hearts, only you can do that.

so well said, yes I will,
good advice come from a wise man,
and you are one of them,
on 10, I got to add a missing word,,
when the liar said, after being corrected:
GEEZ, I didn’t know that, and I didn’t know that either,
and now I know ,I didn’t know
I was with a bunch of liars, BEFORE COMING HERE,
NOW IT’S FIXED ON 10
SORRY, I had to repair it, and bring it back to the true meaning,
oops that demand hard work,
