In a statement issued Friday night, President Obama took issue with some provisions in the budget bill – and in one case simply says he will not abide by it.

Last week the White House and congressional Democrats and Republicans were involved in intense negotiations over not only the size of the budget for the remainder of the FY2011 budget, and spending cuts within that budget, but also several GOP “riders,” or policy provisions attached to the bill.

One rider – Section 2262 — de-funds certain White House adviser positions – or “czars.” The president in his signing statement declares that he will not abide by it.

“The President has well-established authority to supervise and oversee the executive branch, and to obtain advice in furtherance of this supervisory authority,” he wrote. “The President also has the prerogative to obtain advice that will assist him in carrying out his constitutional responsibilities, and do so not only from executive branch officials and employees outside the White House, but also from advisers within it. Legislative efforts that significantly impede the President’s ability to exercise his supervisory and coordinating authorities or to obtain the views of the appropriate senior advisers violate the separation of powers by undermining the President’s ability to exercise his constitutional responsibilities and take care that the laws be faithfully executed.”

Therefore, the president wrote, “the executive branch will construe section 2262 not to abrogate these Presidential prerogatives.”

Losing the Future

http://www.nationalreview.com/articles/264866/losing-future-mark-steyn

How do you “invest in the future”? By borrowing $188 million every hour. That’s what the government of the United States is doing. It’s spending one-fifth of a billion dollars it doesn’t have every hour of every day of every week — all for your future!

no wonder the AMERICANS are distress, and don’t help the economie by not spending the bit they have left, and the COMPANYS are very worried even more, because of no buyer of their products,
A GIANT chain of depress people, to that situation just waiting for the change to happen,
but the delay is making it worse,

I guess, my comment got lost just a minute ago,
I was saying, no wonder the people are holding their bit of money tightly,
and it hurt the economy even more, and the COMPANIES ARE MORE DISTRESS,
THAT THEIR PRODUCT ARE NOT PURCHASE BECAUSE THE CHAIN IS BROKEN IN MANY LINKS.
A PEOPLE which lost their trust on GOVERNMENT, IS VERY TROUBLING TO NOTICE INDEED,
and no MEDIA can change that no matter how they cover the faults of the DEMOCRATS,
there is no way for them to convince the AMERICANS, THEY HAVE CROSS THE LAST LINE OF NO RETURN FOR THEM.

OOPS my first comment is back,
CURT are you doing magic again?
bye thank you

The President was in on these “compromise” meetings and clearly knew about the cutting of his czars and said nothing about his intent until after the bill passed. Obama shows himself to have bargained in bad faith. What does this say about his ethics? He can not be trusted any more than a used car salesman. (Which is incidentally, how he comes across to me when I hear him speak away from the teleprompters.)

ditto, hi, you see the DEMOCRATS don’t want to cut their spending,
It’s obvious that OBAMA want to ruin the NATION, and no DEMOCRATS want to cut him of
from his wish to spend until there is catastrofic consequences at the corner not far from it,
