Bryan Preston @ The PJ Tatler:

The Obama campaign claims that President Obama has created more jobs than President Ronald Reagan did. It’s an absurd claim. Under Obama’s watch we have fewer net workers in the labor force than we did when he took office. They don’t even bother to square that fact with their claim. They just claim it, as Stephanie Cutter does in this clip.

Do NOT forget that, when Obama hired someone (for instance for the USCensus) then fired him, rehires him, fires him again, rehires him again and fires him….that counts as Obama creating 3 jobs!
And Obama did just that so much during the US Census that the graph has to be given an asterisk!

BTW, on that same graph Ronald Reagan’s recovery is seen in the upward magenta line.
Looks WAY better than Obama’s line, huh?
Faster rise.
Complete recovery from when the loses started.
So, what if there were fewer total workers back in the 1980s?
Hiring, firing, rehiring, re-firing, rehiring, re-firing is NOT a real recovery!

This is a different era than Reagan’s. During the 80’s, business people were just learning about off-shoring—so the export of jobs wasn’t exhibit themselves as they do now. Thus Reagan administration could simply be responsible for the creation of new jobs which would stay in this country. Obama’s additional responsibility is the creation of jobs that will stay in this country.
