David Rutz:
President Obama sighed audibly at a question about his policy toward the Islamic State terrorist organization on Wednesday. The president said he had a “lot of things on my plate,” but that defeating ISIS remained his top priority.
Associated Press reporter Josh Lederman asked Obama if the Brussels attack would lead him to reconsider his policy.
“You’ve resisted calls to alter your strategy for fighting the Islamic State, and you’ve said that your critics aren’t offering any better ideas,” AP reporter Josh Lederman said. “But the attacks keep happening. Did Brussels change anything for you, and if not, would you like to—do you think that Americans should see more attacks as being inevitable?”
After Lederman completed the other parts of his question, including one about Sen. Ted Cruz (R., Texas) calling for increased surveillance of Muslims, Obama sighed before answering.
“Josh, I think it is important to recognize that this is my number one priority,” Obama said. “I’ve got a lot of things on my plate, but my top priority is to defeat ISIL and to eliminate the scourge of this barbaric terrorism that’s been taking place around the world
@Bill, #50:
You seem to avoid taking in any information that you don’t like. The predictable result is that you don’t really know what’s going on. You’ve got a model of reality that isn’t real.
Anyone who wishes to acquaint themselves with a few facts regarding the Obama Administration’s military response to ISIL over the past 20 months can take a look at the Department of Defense’s website on the subject. It’s updated regularly.
There are specific objectives and there’s a strategy to realize them. You might not agree, but the objectives have been clearly stated and the strategy to realize them is being diligently pursued. I’ll support this approach until somebody comes up with a specific alternative that’s clearly better. So far no one has. Doing nothing at all is not an option.
@Greg: No, I’m not the one that denies Obama’s stupid withdrawal of security forces unleashed ISIS in Iraq or his and Hillary’s little joint venture in Libya handed that over to ISIS as well. I am also not the person that ignores Democrat support for the overthrow of Hussein and prefer to characterize the intelligence they gathered and believed as “Bush’s lies”.
I am also not the one that ignores Hillary’s decades of lies and defends her corruption.
And another one bites the dust… September 16, 2016 Airstrike Kills Senior ISIS Leader Known As ‘Dr. Wa’il,’ U.S. Officials Say
