November surprise: EPA planning major post-election anti-coal regulation

Conn Carroll @ The Washington Examiner:

President Obama’s Environmental Protection Agency has devoted an unprecedented number of bureaucrats to finalizing new anti-coal regulations that are set to be released at the end of November, according to a source inside the EPA.

More than 50 EPA staff are now crashing to finish greenhouse gas emission standards that would essentially ban all construction of new coal-fired power plants. Never before have so many EPA resources been devoted to a single regulation. The independent and non-partisan Manhattan Institute estimates that the EPA’s greenhouse gas coal regulation will cost the U.S. economy $700 billion.

The rush is a major sign of panic by environmentalists inside the Obama administration. If Obama wins, the EPA would have another four full years to implement their anti-fossil fuel agenda. But if Romney wins, regulators will have a very narrow window to enact a select few costly regulations that would then be very hard for a President Romney to undo.

This was not a surprise to most of us who have been following the Obama agenda. The only way you can make wind and solar viable is to raise the cost of electric power 4-6 times current rates . That means outlawing coal! And this is not going to affect the middle class and the poor? Those poor suckers who voted for hope and change are getting their change!

The USA has a HUGE supply of coal.
Naturally Obama wants to lock that away.

We need some of the coal producing states and coal burning states to get some 10th amendment backbone and tell the EPA to pound sand.

that would be another revenge from OBAMA TO SIGN THAT LAW BEFORE HE LEAVE’ and here is another one about the vets being on stand still waiting to get answers, yes there is thousands of pages to
let them wait, those by the OBAMA MULTIPLE AGENCIES NOT DOING THEIR WORK ON PURPOSE
TO DENY THE VETS THEIR MONEY AND CARE THEY HAVE SUFFERED FROM THE OBAMA ROE IN THE WAR,
MITT ROMNEY CANNOT COME SOON ENOUGH, TO GET THE VETS WHAT IS THEIR BASIC RIGHTS,
HE WILL HAVE A LOT TO SCRAPPED OUT WHEN HE COME TO TAKE THE LEAD,
AND HE WILL, JUST YOU WAIT A BIT.

The obvious solution to this undemocratic conduct by the EPA is for a President Romney to eliminate the EPA!

Would he do that? DOUBT IT.

Thus, meet the new boss, same as the old boss.

Proof the left DOES NOT care about the middle class or the poor. They know this will jack up prices significantly and hurt those two groups especially.
Typical inhuman thinking of the left. You can’t make an omlet without breaking a few eggs.
They need to suffer for the greater good.

@Ivan:
You have learned from the master.
Your straw man is every bit as fallacious as any of Obama’s.
No, Ivan.
There are MANY solutions to this issue.
Dismantling the entire EPA is only the most thoughtlessly aggressive one.

Think of all of the prepositions regarding one and his cup…..
One can go ”around” the cup,
“under” the cup,
“over” the cup,
“into” the cup,
“through” (the handle of) the cup,
and on and on.

Nan G
that is a good one to remember

Hard Right
yes they are voting for MITT ROMNEY,

IF OBAMA WIN IT WILL BE FROM ILLEGAL VOTES,
THE UNIONS ARE FOR HIM AND CALLED FOR VOTE FOR HIM,
IF HE WIN THEY MUST RECOUNT ALL THE BALLOTS,

@ilovebeeswarzone: I voted on Friday and have been trying to get my Mom and Dad to vote. I was told they were not elegible since they didn’t die in Chicago.

Randy

I offer something you can’t even dream of: a permanent solution. No more EPA, no more big government strangling our lives in the future.

You, on the other hand, are already preparing for the inevitable let-down when everyone realizes that Romney isn’t that far removed from Obama.

I know you game. I’ve debated people like yourself. You’ve laid the ground work for the inevitable excuses for failure.

@Nan G:

What “conservative” considers my suggestion “thoughtless.”???? I mean let’s get real. I only suggest what Reagan said we should do (but he failed to do). You though are preparing the lobby at FA for the Romney big government betrayal.

People like you, Nan, who make excuses for liberals in the Republican party are what’s wrong with the party.
