Twitchy:
Accidents involving trains hauling oil seem to happen with relative regularity, causing environmental damage and hazardous conditions for local populations.
With that in mind, Mother Jones asked a simple question:
Why do these tank cars carrying oil keep blowing up? mojo.ly/1htjAev http://t.co/CF6uJzqFSi—
Mother Jones (@MotherJones) June 01, 2014Why? This was a job for Captain Obvious!
@MotherJones Because rail accidents happen frequently and “progressive” idiots won’t let us build a pipeline to preserve Warren Buffett’s $$—
crosspatch (@VictorB123) June 01, 2014Because we don’t have a pipeline. MT @MotherJones: Why do these tank cars carrying oil keep blowing up?—
Konabianca (@konabianca) June 01, 2014Because there’s no fucking pipeline geniuses RT @MotherJones: Why do these tank cars carrying oil keep blowing up? http://t.co/JTfwCRwGLM—
S.M (@redsteeze) June 01, 2014@redsteeze @MotherJones If the Kochs owned these shitty trains instead of Warren Buffett, Harry Reid would have a torch mob gathered—
Poo Picker (@poo_picker) June 01, 2014@GPollowitz @instapundit @MotherJones Because the administration won’t approve KeystoneXL?—
(@ramechtly) June 01, 2014@MotherJones It’s almost like there should be a big pile, in a line. A pipeline.—

The left just doesn’t have a clue!
the left is sold to OBAMA AGENDA,
because they are too scare to protest,
AND GET RID OF THE WOLF WITHIN THE FLOCK OF SHEEPS
The question was rhetorical, and Mother Jones provided the answer: Tank cars keep blowing up because they are substandard. Around 200,000 that are still in service were designed to meet obsolete 1960s era DOT-111 specifications. They’re being phased out, but in the meantime trains consisting of potential firebombs are rolling across the North American landscape.
Anyone who thinks pipelines are worry free might want to take a quick look at this list of 21st Century pipeline accidents. Scroll down the list and you’ll quickly discover that it’s probably longer than the average tank car train.
@Greg: Greggy, they might not be worry free, but they have not killed 47 people so far this year!

i suspect the work of activists in many of them,
that”s what they do, AND THEY CAN GET AWAY WITH IT SO EAZY,
THAT KEYSTON PIPE LINE SHOULD BE ROLLING BY NOW,

Wikipedia is only as accurate as the ones who put the info in, and the owner is known to be very liberal, and edits the content to fit their agenda.
Imagine that there are NO oil pipelines, and the oil, gas, and other hazardous liquids have to be transported by train and truck. Think of all the extra pollution from all those diesel engines pulling those cars and trailers, and the extra ware on the rails and roads, and the extra wait times at railroad crossings, and the extra congestion in the cities. Would you be happy with that? I have a relative who drives a train, and he is VERY HAPPY that the Keystone Pipeline is taking so long to be built. They are running him and the other engineers more than he want to run.
45 people have died over 15 years according to Greg’s link at Wiki.
That’s a lot.
No doubt.
I also noted how often one incident would cause changes to be made in how pipelines are kept up.
As a result of those changes not one person has died in a pipeline explosion (gas or oil) since 2011.

I’m guessing that most pipeline accidents are caused by someone digging into one because they didn’t check to see if anything was buried where they were digging. I have heard many stories like that over the years.
@Smorgasbord:
You’re probably right.
I read a few of the links Wiki provided at Greg’s link.
One stood out.
A truck had apparently backed into a pipeline…..dented it pretty good…..didn’t report it, sort of hit-n-run it.
Later the same day it blew.

HI,
there might be a component in the oil that should be lower,
i think, i still emember reading that the oil and gaz have different degrees of volativity,
and different recipys, made with a mix of different stuff,
for example, planes fly on more powerfull combustible, than what we put in car,
one previous friend was racing in competition with his own self made up motorcycle, and he would only use what the planes USE FOR fuel,
than he could raise up his machine way upward flying for a minute upward, IT WAS SCARY STUFF TO WATCH.
if a dent result in explosion that”s not a right MIX,
lower would probably change the performance of cars,
could that be a factor in planes accident happening rise up
in theses last few years,
like some hater messing up with the recipy of fuel?
