Which doubles as a warning to the rest of the media: Investigate the character of Michael Brown and we’ll brand you a racist.

In an effort to uncover more information about slain Ferguson teenager Michael Brown, the St. Louis Post-Dispatch filed a petition to obtain Brown’s juvenile records. The paper reported last week that he wasn’t facing serious felony charges at the time of his death. And earlier this week, a judge denied the petitions both by the Post-Dispatch and gotnews.com.
Brown family attorney Benjamin Crump, however, is rather upset with the Post-Dispatch for engaging in this kind of “racist speculation’ about Brown’s character while not putting any of the same zeal into digging up information on the man who shot Brown, Officer Darren Wilson.
