Liberals sign petition to repeal the Bill of Rights in support of Obama

There ought to be a stupid test covering people who believe that a moronic video such as this actually demonstrates something about Obama supporters. (I suppose it’s possible that there actually is such a test, and that the video is it.)

It demonstrated how ignorant people are about what is happening and how they would blindly give up their rights just to support someone. Remember, this was in the People’s Republic of California although he probably could have gotten away with it in just about any area that votes heavily blue.

@George Wells: With my family ties being here, it would be kind of hard to go. Although I’d be better off in a western or southern state (or NH), sometimes you just have to hold your nose. I blame the people of this state for continuing to re-elect crooks. We have the record for the most governors who ended up in prison. In the meantime, I’ll do my part by continuing to vote against the corrupt Democrat machine that runs this state and has it close to being bankrupt. When that happens, at least I’ll be able to tell the backers of the machine that they have no one else to blame but themselves. You have apparently chosen that option as well.

If only your 100% endorsement of “conservative” politicians was truly deserved. The fact is that there have been in the past many BAD Republican politicians, and also many GOOD Democratic ones. (I am hoping that you won’t insist on a list of each demonstrating the truth of that statement.)
There is no reason to believe that the future of American politics will be any different. Some people are ethically weak, and when given power, they will be susceptible to the corrupting influences endemic in public service regardless of political affiliation.

While I consider myself a “Democrat,” I have voted many times for Republican candidates – in every case I considered them to be the better person for the job. If you never vote for a Democrat, it means that sometimes you are supporting inferior candidates, and that does everyone a disservice. Personally, I wouldn’t admit to being that stupid.

I will be happy to support the GOP just as soon as they stop waging war on gays, women, Latinos and Blacks. It might also be nice if the House Republicans start doing some legislating instead of just voting to repeal Obama- Care. They should be coming up with new and better ways to do things, not just trying to undo what the Democrats have done. What’s their idea of how to improve health care? Fix anything? NO! They just want to thrash away at the “Affordable Care Act.” That plan of action is not constructive, it’s DESTRUCTIVE! There are some GOOD parts of Obama’s legislation. Start with them and improve. Make things BETTER!

You claim that I only give you “opinions” and that is not true. Here are yet some more facts: The 106th congress through the 111th congress passed into law an average of 456 Public Laws each year. In the 112th congress (last year), a record low number of laws were passed: 283. The 113th congress (this year), which is approximately one half completed, has so far passed only 15 laws, and this gridlock is damaging our country. And yet the House of Representatives has wasted the taxpayers’ time and money by voting at least 37 times to repeal some or all of Obama-Care, a gesture in futility because neither the Senate nor the President would ever support such a repeal. Also, virtually none of the judicial and regulatory appointments made by the President are being approved, even when the appointed individuals are Republicans. These are facts of obstruction, Bees, not “opinions.” Look them up if you wish.

House Republicans have opposed all legislative efforts to extend equal rights to gay citizens, including adding “sexual orientation” to non-discriminatory legislation protecting areas of employment, housing, etc.; were almost 100% AGAINST ending “Don’t-Ask, Don’t-Tell;” authored the now partially discredited and soon-to-be-eliminated “Defense-Of-Marriage-Act;” and were behind the effort to amend the US Constitution to forbid gay marriage in any state. This is but the tip of the iceberg of Republican efforts to restrict the civil rights of gay citizens, and I challenge you to give me one single example of legislation extending equal rights to gays that received the support of a majority of Republican legislators. The GOP is the enemy of gays.

Republicans at both state and national levels have been and remain hostile to the protection of women’s reproductive rights. They have sought to overturn Roe v. Wade, have placed outrageous conditions on women’s clinics that cause the vast majority of them to cease operation, have sought to restrict women’s access to birth-control, have fought measures designed to provide women with equal pay for equal work, etc., etc. and once again I challenge you to point out one bit of significant legislation extending civil rights to women that received the support of a majority of Republican legislators. The GOP is the enemy of women.

Latinos DID swarm illegally into this country over the past 20 years, largely to fill low-paying jobs unwanted by American workers. Republican businessmen eager to take advantage of this source of cheap labor are not without complicity in this predicament. But at this point the simple number of illegals involved makes rounding them all up virtually impossible, and doing so would cause catastrophic harm to our economy. Something HAS to be done, but the GOP’s answer is to build better fences and stiffen the laws, as if that would somehow fix the problem. It won’t, but their efforts in that direction insure that the Latino segment of our population won’t vote Republican for a VERY long time. The GOP is the enemy of Latinos.

And the Blacks. The GOP views Blacks as the root of many of our economic problems. As the recipients of a disproportionate share of “social safety net” funds, their “entitlements” are targeted. As voters inclined to support democrats, their voting privileges are attacked. And the GOP has lead efforts to end preferential treatments (such as “affirmative action”) that were intended to level the playing field for a race that began its American history in the bondage of slavery. The GOP is the enemy of Blacks.

These are not “opinions,” Bees, these are the facts that contribute to the overwhelming bias each one of these groups has in favor of Democratic candidates.
