Speaker John Boehner (R-Ohio) is rejecting gun-control legislation offered by the chairman of the Homeland Security Committee in response to the weekend shootings of Rep. Gabrielle Giffords (D-Ariz.) and 19 others in Arizona.

Rep. Pete King (R-N.Y.) announced plans Tuesday to introduce legislation prohibiting people from carrying guns within 1,000 feet of members of Congress.

EVERY DAY I thank God that Boehner is in control of the House, especially now, with the events in Tucson. I can only imagine the legislation that would be flowing through the House and Senate to limit our freedoms if Obama, Reid and Pelosi were still in control. Legislation is not the answer to this problem. Perhaps the Sheriff in charge down there should shoulder some of the responsibility instead of blaming Rush Limbaugh?
