Kevin McCarthy Stands Tall Against Senate Plan to Give the Farm Away on Spending

Speaker Kevin McCarthy stood tall on Wednesday in a move that may surprise some, asserting that the House will not pass a continuing resolution that includes more money for Ukraine and that doesn’t help secure the border.

The comments came during a closed-door meeting with the GOP caucus in which McCarthy reiterated his plan to pass separate spending bills. That stands in stark contrast to the last several decades of massive, pork-filled omnibus packages propagated by his predecessor, Rep. Nancy Pelosi.

Conservatives will no doubt be happy with that position. On the other side of the building, Minority Leader Mitch McConnell has been working with Democrats in the Senate to pass a CR that would include another $4.5 billion for Ukraine. It would also lack any stipulations to secure the border. Republicans in the House are skeptical about giving yet another chunk of cash to a war that has ground to a stalemate while allowing the Southern border to keep spinning out of control.

Further, McCarthy is doing what he can to back up his play in practical terms. The House has already advanced four individual appropriations bills (there are 12 total), with even fiscal hawk Rep. Thomas Massie supporting them due to regular order being used. As long as the GOP caucus holds together, we might finally see an end to the omnibus madness.

Maybe we can be beginning to get a grip on wasteful spending. At the very least, get the representatives to acknowledge their support for the spending.

Agreed
It was only a matter of time. McCarthy’s speakership was tenuous at best.

This is the first time in the history of the Republic where a sitting speaker of the House has been removed.

A huge victory for the grassroots

I’m sure the republican majority’s replacement process will go smoothly.

“I Think This Represents the Ripping Off of the Bandaid – To Get Back on Track” – Rep. Matt Gaetz Delivers Remarks Following Kevin McCarthy’s Removal as House Speaker (VIDEO)

Congratulations. Matt Gaetz has just reduced the GOP House majority to a state of total dysfunctionality.

Struck a deal to send more money to Ukraine
– Blocking the subpoena to Hunter Biden
– Sold us out on the debt ceiling
– Didn’t secure the border
– Didn’t release the Jan6 tapes
– Kept 87,000 New IRS Agents
– Hasn’t helped J6 political prisoners
– Refuses to hold anyone accountable
– Keeps voting with Democrats

Both he and Frank Luntz are licking their wounds tonight.

The GOP House majority just became irrelevant.

“They are not conservatives, and they do not have a right to the title…They don’t get to say they’re conservative because they’re angry and chaotic.”

We have Republicans with principles. Some of them hold to their principles. Democrats don’t; they LOVE deficit spending and debt because it gives them more opportunity to steal from the taxpayer and, hopefully, die fabulously rich before the country collapses.

The terrific debt the Democrats and some Republicans are running up is causing the chaos. Democrats, of course, don’t mind as long as their district gets its money (from which they can steal). Republicans fight of the best method to end this wasteful and destructive and it ain’t pretty. But at least they aren’t clamoring to see who can destroy the country first, like Democrats.

Tell me about principles again after you’ve held Donald Trump accountable for his disregard for the law.

Republicans have run up as much debt as Democrats. They pitch the nonsensical notion that tax cuts don’t increase deficits.

Tell me about principles again after you’ve held Donald Trump accountable for his disregard for the law.

Well, since you want to be told about principals, why don’t we talk about Biden’s principals? You are so damn quick to accuse Trump of illegal financial transactions, perhaps you should take a good look at Biden’s financial history.

Tell me, Comrade Greggie, do you own your own home? If so what were the rules of finance when you bought your home? Maybe you can explain how Senator Du Pont (Biden), who was making $44,000/yr in D.C. could afford a former Du Pont 10,000 sq. ft mansion that cost $185,000.00 when the financial rule back then was not being able to purchase a home for more than 2 times your annual salary? How did he buy a house for 4 1/2 times his salary? Or how he profited from that home, selling it back to a Du Pont for $1,800,000. And yes, I know how long Biden lived in that house. So what?

Maybe you would like to explain how on the take from the credit card industry Biden was and how he killed a bill that would allow those in bankruptcy to also deduct their student loans, which at that time was finance by independent banks, not the federal government, which really benefitted the credit card bankers?

So man up, Comrade Greggie, defend Biden the most crooked “president” we have ever had.

He will never be able to praise Biden or this administrations destruction of the economy, only accuse a man that has not been convicted of anything. thhere were never millions coming into the Trump family without a trace of service or product.

You tell ME about principles when you stop persecuting Trump because you fear he will mop the floor with Robin Ware/Robert L. Peters/JRB Ware/Pedo Peter/idiot Biden if allowed to run and hold Robin Ware/Robert L. Peters/JRB Ware/Pedo Peter/idiot Biden for his corruption and treason.

As the civil case in NYC is showing right now, the charges against Trump are nothing but political lawfare. Democrats have utterly DESTROYED the credibility of our justice system. But, that is DEMOCRAT principle.

No, Obama added $10 trillion to the debt and Robin Ware/Robert L. Peters/JRB Ware/Pedo Peter/idiot Biden has added $5 trillion. For that $15 trillion, the nation has gotten NOTHING. But, Democrats get rich.
