While presidential candidates Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump loom horrifyingly larger, can we spare a little horror as U.S. President Barack Obama looms ever smaller? No, I’m not sorry he’s leaving. I’m alarmed at a series of recent foreign policy humiliations showing just how badly the incredible shrinking president has damaged America’s standing in this turbulent world of ours.
First, emerging from the back door of Air Force One at the G20 in China after local functionaries literally denied him a red carpet. Second, begging Russian President Vladimir Putin for help on Syria and getting chlorine gas. Third, being told off by the president of Turkey over American support for Kurds in Syria. Fourth, being cussed out by the president of the Philippines.
It is literally impossible to imagine any of these things happening to former presidents Ronald Reagan, George W. Bush or Richard Nixon. Jimmy Carter? Maybe one or two. But Obama managed all four. While he did cancel his meeting with the appalling Filipino president, he seemed to treat the rest as no big deal.
Now you may say the red carpet mix-up could have happened to anybody. But the American president isn’t meant to be anybody. Unfortunately, Obama does not believe in American exceptionalism and his attitude is contagious.
He is soooo5 minutes ago. A tiny vindictive egomaniac. Had he just 1 real accomplishment his entire 8 years pffft.
@kitt:
In January 2017 he will leave office and he will leave with the Country in far worse condition than when he took office. The list of failures is voluminous. The task at hand of restoration of a Constitutional Representative Republic is beyond the current scope of leadership in the Nations Capitol.
@July 4th American: You are right there its getting harder to find and keep conservatives in DC, the republican Party itself will campaign hard for a RINO and undermine a conservative.
Nobody seems to check voting records anymore us go with whatever the media reports or worse the political commercials.
Middle class incomes had their fastest growth on record last year
Obama: ‘I really, really, really want to elect Hillary Clinton’
Well, consider the alternative. You don’t have any clue what Donald Trump would do. And neither does Donald Trump.
Obama’s RCP average job approval rating now stands at 50.8 percent, while the most recent Washington Post-ABC News poll has his approval rating at 58 percent. Historically, that’s a very high number for the final year of a second term.
I hear wheres even Jimmmy Carter has better polls then Obama Heck at least Carter wasnt trashing america and appoligising to the commie scumballs
@Greg: People like Obama. He NEVER gets any bad press from his lap dog media, so what’s not to like?
However, the vast majority think the nation is headed in the wrong direction. They simply fail to ask themselves who is driving.
