It’s Racist To Ask For ID When Voting, But It’s Ok To Demand ID Before Buying Drain Cleaner

They ask for ID when you buy psuedoephedrine too, right? (However you spell it.)

So, just in case you were wondering, asking for ID is effective in screening out multiple-pseudoepherine purchasers, but is not at all effective in screening out multiple-voters.

I think we can safely assume that some people do not wish to discourage multiple or illegal voting.

Obama has a simple policy for things like this:

If it HELPS the USA, I am against it.
If it HURTS the USA, I am for it.

Buying drain cleaner is not a right—like voting.

Since when do they ask for ID for buying drain cleaner? And why? Some sort of anti-drug thing?
Regardless, ID of voters hardly seems like something that it’s sensible to object to. Not that most people would go to the trouble required to vote multiple times (or impersonate a dead voter or w/e), but it’s just common sense to verify that the voter that shows up is the same one that’s registered.

@Liberal1 (objectivity): I don’t see the right to vote being infringed when verification of identity takes place. I suppose there are people who don’t possess valid ID (Amish?) and maybe some workaround could be devised for people in that situation, but in general this looks like a small problem.

Drain cleaner and aluminum foil can be used to make a simple bomb. Kids and pranksters do so. I suppose reactionary locals figured controlling the sale of the caustic component made them look less silly than controlling the sale of aluminum foil.

Requiring an ID to buy psuedoephedrine makes more sense. It’s the base ingredient of a crude but effective methamphetamine production method. Refer to the TV series Breaking Bad.

Yup they ask for ID, and make a copy of it, before you can buy commercial drain openers here in CA.
They also look you over but only to see if you are over 18 if you want to buy certain spray paints.
We buy the ”trash can green” spray paint to undo what the taggers do on a regular basis.
Supply and demand are amazing things.
There are ”trash can green,” trash can blue ( a different trash company) and even Adobe white (Garage door white) spray paints.
All of them are used to repair graffiti tags.

@Liberal1 (objectivity):
And buying drain cleaner shouldn’t be illegal, like voter fraud.

one of the stupidest articles i’ve read in years.

Soooo….It must be racist to ask for ANY FORM OF ID in order to to make sure you ARE who you say you ARE… What is up with the Left/Democrats…??? Why do Liberals insist on keeping Dra a maaa in the equation instead of using their God given common sense… Oh, wait, I forgot it’s against Liberalism to have any form of common sense, even if you have to feign not having common sense…when you really do know what common sense is all about..

This is a reason ‘why’ we have so much FRAUD in these United States…and to be fair, all kinds of Fraud…But I’m specifically speaking of Government Fraud, within the Government and outside the Government.. Entitlement, Welfare, Medicaid, Voter and whatever else people who are frauds – who have no ethics, no morals, and whine about everyone else being frauds [racists] “just like them”….
… then calling it “racist” in order to try to bully honest people who want to ‘be fair/equal’ …I thought there was political correctness being used by Democrats these days or does political correctness only apply to Democrats/Liberals and Kool Aid drinkers???

Racism is a Dead Horse – stop beating it!!

Who do you think should have the “right” to vote in the USA, and who should NOT be allowed to vote, and how would you keep those not allowed to vote from voting? Here’s your chance to solve the problem that the politicians can’t seem to.

I suppose there are people who don’t possess valid ID….

States that require an ID to vote, also give those who can’t afford to get an ID, a free ID card. The only thing I don’t like about a picture ID is the image they put on mine.
