Is Ukraine Steamrolling Russia?

At last. After six months of surrendering territory, Ukraine is on the move and Russia is retreating. Right? Not so fast. Ukraine tried and failed to penetrate the Russian lines around Kherson. That fizzled and Ukraine suffered enormous casualties. Russia did not.

But wait. Ukraine has now unleashed a new offensive in the north around Kharkov and has made some gains. Gee, what a coincidence. The same week that the United States with NATO convened a Ramstein Conference to assess Ukraine’s progress in the war, a gigantic triumph is being trumpeted on the internet. Russia, finally, is really, really on its heels and on the verge of surrendering the Donbas to the marauding Ukrainian troops. At least that is what Ukraine and its NATO allies are saying and the press is happily pushing that meme.

Now, back to reality. The Russian allied forces that faced the brunt of the Ukrainian attack are not the Russian army’s front line troops. It is a mixture of Donbas militia and Russian national guard. When faced with a Ukrainian force that has more troops it should not be a surprise that the outgunned militia and police would retreat and surrender territory. A tactical retreat is sound military strategy.

But what kind of territory? We are talking rural villages and small cities. These are not critical industrial centers. Rather than reinvent the wheel, I encourage you to read the analysis from Andrei Martyanov, The Saker:

… once real information, not from telegram channels’ ignoramuses and defeatists, not to mention IPSO trolls,  started to trickle down from Kharkov a much different picture began to emerge. For starters, the main “fix” of Kiev regime’s propagandists–Balakleya (which is operationally not that important to start with)–is still not taken by VSU completely and, as was stated yesterday, Russian reserves are pouring in. Most importantly, VSU is now in the open and this may come as a surprise to Pentagon planners and commanders in charge of this “cascade” of the “offensives” which are blocked as I type it. The new “direction” could be Liman, but it seems that Pentagon will have to deal with the numbers of KIAs of VSU, which already yesterday were reported in excess of 5,000 KIAs and many more thousands of wounded, which any NATO army, including the US Army simply cannot sustain. In general, NATO’s “planning” is unprofessional and is having huge issues with understanding of the “echeloning” offensive operations and the use of reserves.

So, let’s leave it at that and continue to observe the whole thing as it unfolds, I am sure we will have second and third waves of IPSO and Western media campaign in promoting “successes” of VSU. I will only reiterate my point–those who really want to follow events, forget about all those “reporters” and telegram channels’, 99% of them are utter unprofessional BSers. In fact, many allegedly “pro-Russian” or “patriotic” channels play INTO the hands of Western and Ukie propaganda without even understanding it. I personally view Yuri Podolyaka as an IPSO asset and increasingly open enemy of SMO.

Meanwhile, EU continues to parade itself as a freak-show.

More:

In Russian there is an expression “this is unpleasant/upsetting but not dangerous” (это обидно, но не опасно).  I think that this fully applies here: nobody in Russia is particularly happy about what is taking place (except maybe the Russian General Staff IF we assume that this is all a big trap the Russians deliberately created, and there is some evidence for that as the force concentrations prior to this attack were reported by numerous observers, so it was hardly a secret that the Ukronazis were about to attack somewhere in the northeast).  But we need to really keep aware of the proportions of what is happening: after six months of warfare, this is the first and only Ukrainian attack which shows some real capabilities, and it is all limited to a rather narrow corridor within the Russian tactical defenses only!  As I said, these are strong tactical attacks and clashes, but the size of them does not even amount to a real “battle” or “offensive”, at least not in the military sense of the word.

Now if the Russians do not take back the initiative over this week-end, then things might seriously become alarming and we could speak of the first operational success of the Ukronazis and their Neocon masters.

Could that happen?  Yes, absolutely.

Should we assume it will?  No, this is too soon to come to such a conclusion.

So wait and see is the best I can suggest at this point in time.

One more thing: it appears that the Ukronazis have, yet again, attempted an amphibious landing near the ZNPP and, yet again, their fast attack craft were destroyed before they could reach land.  Yet another attempt to get a desperately needed “peremoga” which ended up in disaster.

Moon Of Alabama:

Here is the latest from the Izium front where a Ukrainian counterattack made a deep push into Russian held lines.

Source: Militaryland.net – bigger

The map shows 5 Ukrainian brigades within the bulge the Ukrainian forces have formed to the north of Izium. Several more brigades are pushing up from the south of Izium. With about 3,000 men per brigade this is a major force of some 30,000+ soldiers plus likely reserves.

Source: Rybar – bigger

After the light Luhanks Peoples’ Republic forces who had held that area were overrun by the ISIS style attack of the Ukrainian forces, the Russian army has pulled up its heavy reserves. Mi-26 helicopters brought in armored vehicles and soldiers to stop the attacks wherever possible.

The Ukrainians are also pulling in heavy weapons for a new push along their front lines.

Armored land bound Russian forces are coming in from the east and north. The Russian air force and army aviation have air superiority and pound the Ukrainian lines.

We can expect a lot of attacks on the quite thin and long supply lines of the Ukrainian spearhead. The town of Shevchenkove, where several big roads and train lines cross, may be a weak point of the Ukrainian offensive. Retaking it would cut the main Ukrainian supply lines in the area.

…This operation is THE big push by the Ukrainian military. Most of the heavier armored vehicles on the front seem to be from foreign countries.

If the Ukrainian army is willing to throw all heavy reserves into this operation, as it seem to do, the Russian army will have a chance to give it a decisive blow.

The alternative is to retreat to later fight elsewhere.

This entire operation has one point–persuade Washington and NATO that Ukraine still has a chance to succeed. But this means ignoring the fact that Kherson, Mariupol, Luhansk and most of Donetsk is still controlled by Russia and Russian allied forces. It also ignores the fact that Ukraine’s concentration of forces in this narrow area (see the maps highlighted by The Saker) creates a ripe target for Russian air, rocket, missile and artillery forces to hit.

My suggestion–hold your water and go lay down on the fainting couch. This is not the German Army at the outskirts of Moscow. This is not Von Paulus rolling into Stalingrad for certain victory. If calling this a tactical defeat makes you feel warm and fuzzy, shout away and cheer Ukraine. What is not being shown, yet, are the horrendous casualties the Ukrainians are suffering.

If this really was a decisive triumph why are foreign journalists being kept from the front line of the attack to record the impressive Ukrainian victory? It is one thing to spin propaganda out from the safe confines of Kiev. It is a whole different ballgame to go to where the battle is taking place and recording what is actually taking place. The dog ain’t barking:

Gozalo Lira? Hilarious.

04/29/22 – The Redpill Grifter Who Became an Anti-Ukraine Propagandist
And the wacko tale of his supposed murder.

Gonzalo Lira is a con man. He used to go by ‘coach red pill’ and grift off confused young men and then this Ukraine thing fell in his lap…

He is missing. He will come back and say he is on the run and needs money to ensure his protection. His story will sound like a novel.

An accurate prediction…

First, they’ll have to run home and and replace the equipment that they abandoned as they fled—which means they’ll have to find an open route back to Russia—and then wait for Kim Jong Un’s emergency UPS delivery trucks…

I expect the Russians will proceed to do exactly that and pick up the pace of the offensive in Donetsk in the near future using the released troops, which has been moving at a glacial pace for months now.

The boondoggle in Ukraine is a complete waste of taxpayers money.

It will be an article of impeachment for fuhrer biden

The boondoggle in Ukraine is a complete waste of taxpayers money.

You should tell Putin. He’s also killing a lot of young Russian taxpayers.

09/10/22 – Ukraine’s lightning advance near Kharkiv leaves Russian forces in disarray

Russia abandoned military strongholds in northeastern Ukraine on Saturday in an apparent rout of Russia’s front line positions, after Ukrainian forces pushed forward in a lightning advance that has left Moscow’s forces in disarray.

Russia’s defence ministry said its forces had pulled back from the strategic city of Izyum, claiming it had decided to “regroup” and transfer them south-eastwards to the Donetsk region.

The Russian retreat is one of President Vladimir Putin’s biggest setbacks since he ordered a full invasion of Ukraine on February 24, and could prove a turning point, involving the capture of thousands of Russian soldiers and their equipment.

“Since the beginning of September, about 2,000km of our territory have been freed,” Volodymyr Zelenskyy, Ukraine’s president, said in his daily evening video address to the nation.

“The Russian army is showing its best — showing its back . . . it is a good choice for them to run away. There is no place for the occupiers in Ukraine and there will be no place,” Zelenskyy said.

In an apparent bid to encourage more Russian soldiers to surrender, Zelenskyy promised that Ukraine would “guarantee” Russian soldiers who surrender fair treatment “in accordance with the Geneva Conventions”…

Maybe they should ‘regroup’ around the Kremlin and demand Putin’s removal.

‘We have already lost’: far-right Russian bloggers slam military failures

“The war in Ukraine will continue until the complete defeat of Russia,” Igor Girkin, a far-right nationalist, grumbled in a video address to his 430,000 followers on Telegram on Monday. “We have already lost, the rest is just a matter of time.”

Sarcasm, coming from the former leader of the pro-Putin Donetsk separatists:

Igor Girkin, a Russian who was an early leader of a Moscow-backed separatist uprising in Donetsk in 2014, sneered at the portrayal of the pullback being strategic. On the messaging app Telegram, he acidly called it “the brilliant (clearly within the framework of the plan and even ahead of schedule) operation to transfer the cities of Izyum, Balakliya and Kupiansk to respected Ukrainian partners.”

Russia is winning the war against Ukraine, and eventually will invade other countries on their border.

Trump kept Putin at bay, and would have built an actual relationship with him moving forward that would have avoided all this death.

The invasion was caused by Biden’s bumbling, and was also commissioned by the WEF to allow for even more “fundamental transformation.”

They released covid, and they released Russia.

Putin has already won.

That must explain why center of Moscow is suddenly closed off and barricaded; they’re preparing for Putin’s Glorious Victory Parade, which will begin once fleeing Russian troops arrive.

09/10/22 – Moscow Municipal Lawmakers Demand Putin’s Resignation

Municipal deputies in the Moscow district of Lomonosovsky have appealed to Russian President Vladimir Putin to resign, saying “everything went wrong” since the start of his second term and they believe a change of power is necessary for the sake of the country.

The deputies posted their protocol decision on the Lomonosovsky district’s website, including a 30-minute video of their meeting on September 8.

In their appeal, the deputies emphasize that the aggressive rhetoric of Putin and his subordinates has thrown Russia back into the Cold War era. They disputed economic data showing a doubling of the country’s GDP and said the minimum wage did not increase to the level declared by the government.

They also said smart and hard-working people have left Russia en masse, and there is no trace of the promised stability.

Addressing Putin directly, they said: “Your views, your management model are hopelessly outdated and impede the development of Russia and its human potential.”

Putin has already won.

It looks like they really don’t want to be late for the parade.

Benito Biden Jets Away on Another Weekend Vacation to Delaware — He Has Spent 40% of Presidency on Vacation

Uh huh. And…something about Ukraine and Russia. Oh, yeah. Putin’s “military exercise” is not going at all well.

Because the Ukrainians are brave, their cause is just, their military and leadership are effective, and because Joe Biden and the leaders of the West and Europe didn’t let them down.

It’s also in our national interest.

That sort of leadership is what I voted for.

Benito Biden Jets Away

That sort of leadership is what I voted for.

Massive crime. More Covid deaths. Hyper inflation. An early-induced great resignation. Putin killing tens of thousands. Israel under attack. Sir Lankans dying of a preventable famine.

Yeah, you and Eric Coomer, igloo coolers, and pipe breaks all “voted” for an intentional destruction of the world as we know it.

We know. You are now an enemy of the state, and of free peoples everywhere.

Because the Ukrainians are brave, their cause is just, their military and leadership are effective, and because Joe Biden and the leaders of the West and Europe didn’t let them down.

Zelensky is part of a US-installed regime. People are dying because un-elected Biden and his globalist masters are playing totalitarian games.

It’s not working out for them, is it?

Americans will remember in November, when the GOP takes the House and Senate…then we purge Biden’s illegal occupation of our WH and we restore the Presidency…

Putin to ‘disappear’ as elites turn on Russian despot over prolonged Ukraine war

VLADIMIR PUTIN could “disappear” as the Russian business elites turn on their President over his prolonged war in Ukraine, an expert has warned.

VLADIMIR PUTIN could “disappear” as the Russian business elites turn on their President over his prolonged war in Ukraine, an expert has warned.

Putin claimed on Wednesday that Russia had “lost nothing” by sparking a war, which has killed thousands of Ukrainians and an estimated 50,000 Russian military personnel. His claims come as Ukraine launched a surprise counteroffensive in the north-east Kharkiv region, reportedly retaking several settlements. Ukrainian President Zelensky spoke of “good news” but did not elaborate on which Russian-occupied areas Ukraine had seized.

As Putin’s six-month war rages on, Russia’s powerful business elites are said to be growing increasingly weary, as the Russian economy continues to struggle under Western sanctions.

Media moguls and military suppliers are set to turn on Putin, leading to his eventual “disappearance”, according to Professor Nikolai Petrov, a senior research fellow on the Russia and Eurasia Programme at Chatham House.

Speaking to Express.co.uk about how the oligarchs could depose Putin, he said: “They will fight against each other, and it will destabilise the system.

“It will not be an uprising against Putin or at least it will not start as such. But it will be their fight, leading to the further weakening of the regime…

09/12/22 – Ukraine troops sweep ahead after Russian collapse in northeast

KYIV/KHARKIV, Ukraine, Sept 12 (Reuters) – Ukrainian forces swept further across territory seized from fleeing Russian troops on Monday, as Moscow grappled with the consequences of the collapse of its occupation force in northeastern Ukraine.

Ukraine’s general staff said early on Monday that its forces had recaptured more than 20 towns and villages in just the past day, after Russia acknowledged it was abandoning Izium, its main stronghold in northeastern Ukraine.

“Taking them under full control and stabilization measures are being carried out,” the general staff said of the newly re-captured settlements.

As thousands of Russian troops abandoned their positions, leaving behind huge stocks of ammunition and equipment, Russia fired missiles at power stations on Sunday causing blackouts in the Kharkiv and adjacent Poltava and Sumy regions.

Ukraine denounced what it described as retaliation against civilian targets for its military advances. By Monday morning, Reuters journalists in Kharkiv said the power was back on, although the water was not yet working. The regional governor said power had been restored by 80%. Moscow, which denies deliberately striking civilian targets, did not comment…

“The collapse of it’s occupation force” might not be part of Putin’s Special Military Exercise plan.

It’s hard to know what to believe, these days. Putin’s propaganda is idiotic, but after news agencies in the West were bought by Leftist ideology, spreading lies about political enemies like Donald Trump, and supporting non-scientific, profit-seeking lies about Covid-19 (killing hundreds of thousands with misinformation about Ivermectin and masks), it’s sad we can’t call Reuters a viable news source.

Who really knows what’s going on in Ukraine?

Maybe we’ll get a renaissance of real journalists who seek the Truth, and not partisan obedience and profit?

What happens when Putin loses another city, and the missiles fired as Russian forces leave are tactical nukes?

It’s coming…

Just a reminder:

Putin never would have invaded Ukraine and tens of thousands of people would still be alive if Democrats/the Deep State hadn’t rigged our Presidential election and installed a drooling puppet, thus both inviting and necessitating the invasion for a desperate Russia.

Germany is now headed back to the stone age, as a result.

Due to allowing/encouraging Vladimir Putin to invade Ukraine, the EU is now on the verge of financial collapse.

CEO of GnS Economics Tuomas Malinen forecasts the imminent collapse of the European economy. Focusing on the ill-advised sanctions against Russia in the wake of its invasion of Ukraine and the shutting down of the Nord Stream 1 pipeline, he reports that “[m]any households and corporations are seeing their energy prices multiply by 10, or more, across the continent.” In the face of a massive spike in energy prices, skyrocketing inflation, the raising of interest rates, the crushing effect on asset markets and the European banking sector, and the explosion of a full-blown debt crisis, Malinen predicts the unraveling of the Eurozone and the possible collapse of the global financial system. The ripple effect would be unstoppable.

Perhaps European leaders should be more worried about their own people pulling them out of office, rather than doubling down on the “Putin alone is the problem” hoax?

Trump accused Germany of becoming ‘totally dependent’ on Russian energy at the U.N. The Germans just smirked.

Who is laughing now?

09/12/22 – Ukrainian forces break through to Russian border. Live updates.

The Ukraine military’s stunning offensive gained momentum Monday, reclaiming several more northeastern villages and forcing the retreat of overwhelmed Russian troops from the region.

A Russian-installed official in the Kharkiv region said Ukrainian forces outnumbered Russian troops by 8-to-1 and had broken through to the Russian border. Vitaly Ganchev told the state-owned Rossiya-24 television channel on Monday “the situation is becoming more difficult by the hour.”

Kyiv’s sudden surge comes after months of little movement, save for Russia’s small gains in the Donbas region. The encouraging counteroffensive has lifted Ukrainian morale and prompted criticism within Russia of President Vladimir Putin’s “special military operation…

Kremlin says Putin is aware of the situation on the frontline: The Kremlin on Monday insisted that Russia would achieve all of its goals in Ukraine, despite the setback in Kharkiv. “The special military operation continues and will continue until the initial goals are achieved,” Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said in a conference call with journalists. Russian President Vladimir Putin is aware of the situation on the frontline, he added.

Glad to hear Putin is ‘aware of the situation’ that he’s entirely responsible for creating. Hopefully the Russian people will become aware of it too.

09/12/22 – Ukrainians have presented Russians with “multiple dilemmas” across the battlefield, a senior US military official says

Ukrainians have presented Russian forces with “multiple dilemmas along the forward line of troops,” a senior US military official said Monday, including where to apply their limited resources after Ukrainians moved swiftly over the weekend to re-capture territory.

The change in battlefield dynamics is “indicative of the reports” of Russian forces having “low morale, logistics issues, inability to sustain operations,” the US military official said. Ukraine’s military advanced on two fronts: a slower, more deliberate push in Kherson in southern Ukraine and a rapid advance through depleted Russian forces near Kharkiv in eastern Ukraine.

“We’ve seen the Ukrainians use to great effect the capabilities that they have across the battlefield to change the battlefield dynamics,” the official said. “While again it’s really for Russia to answer the question in terms of why their forces reacted the way that they did up in the Kharkiv region, it is indicative of the reports that we’ve seen in terms of low morale, logistics issues, inability to sustain operations.”

Ukraine’s advances have forced Russia to decide where it wants to move its forces and how to use them, the official said, a decision which is always challenging in the middle of a war. “It’s a very hard problem to solve,” the official said, and it’s made even more difficult by the sustainment, logistics, and command and control issues that the Russians have experienced since the start of the invasion.

“Inability to sustain operations” means defeat.

If defeated, Putin would still have the option of further damaging the Russian economy by refusing to sell natural gas to Europe.

Meanwhile, in the US, gasoline prices are still falling.

“If defeated, Putin would still have the option of further damaging the Russian economy by refusing to sell gas to Europe.”

That’s quite the spin.

I think you misunderstand, and need to go back and read about 90% of what YOU YOURSELF wrote about Putin.

Putin will take Europe with him. Using his petroleum, or using his nukes.

This is zero hour for Russia, as a nation. The oligarchs will lose everything if Putin loses.

Again, the “this is just one guy causing issues” hoax. Tell your handlers they are f*cking stupid for trying to push this narrative. There are many better ones you could spin. Perhaps they should fire you and hire me?

Biden will still be in his nightly coma…

The guy in the coma is taking down the guy in the Kremlin.

The oligarchs will lose everything if Putin loses.

They’ll lose everything if Putin remains. They’ll pin the whole disaster on Putin. They won’t remain loyal to a liability. They’re only loyal to their wealth. That’s the reality.

Ukrainians are loyal to something else. They’re defending their families, their homes, and their homeland from invaders on their own territory. There’s no more powerful motivation than that. Brave people willingly die for that.

Bogdan Bezpalko, Kremlin official:

“For two months, Ukrainian armed forces and military equipment have been massing in that area, all Telegram channels have been writing about it. Where was our damn reconnaissance? All of their heads should be laying on Putin’s desk, hacked off at the base. Of course, this is a tactical defeat. I hope it will be very sobering.”

Yep. You’re repeatedly defeated by tactics. Maybe Russia should sober up.

This is how Russia loses a war—which, by the way, Putin unnecessarily started, destabilizing the entire world’s economies. All of the unnecessary pain, hardship, death, misery, and destruction is Putin’s fault.

Maybe own head should be on his desk.
