Is the ‘Full’ Secret Video of Romney at Fundraiser Really Unedited?

Benny Johnson @ The Blaze:

Tuesday afternoon, the site Mother Jones released what was described as the “full,“ ”raw and uncut” video of Mitt Romney’s comments at a private campaign fundraiser, which has drawn immense criticism from both sides. The two “full” videos seemingly leaves out a critical  portion of the speech as Romney was beginning to explain his now infamous “47 percent” remarks.

Mother Jones released the two “full” videos of Romney with great fanfare.  The site states:

“Romney is not the only one who has called for the release of the full 49-minute video. And we’re more than happy to oblige. The complete video demonstrates that Romney was not snippetized and that he was captured raw and uncut. Here it is, in two parts”

Is the Full Secret Video of Romney at Fundraiser Really Unedited?

However, one simply has to watch the videos back to back to see that there is clearly no natural link between them. Below is our video, showing the final ten seconds of the first film and the first ten seconds of the last. These videos were captured directly as they are on the Mother Jones website.

The video transcribed would read:

[Romney]“We do all these polls — I find it amazing. We poll all these people to see where you stand in the polls but 45 percent of the people vote for the Republicans and 48 or 49–,”  This is where the first part of the video cuts out.

Part two picks up seemingly on a completely different subject: China.

“…about twice as much as China, not 10 times as much like is reported. And we have responsibility for the whole world, they’re only focused on one little area of the world, the south china sea…”

The topics nor the pick up points in the sentence are the same in the two videos. Romney himself claimed this video was edited and called for “the person who has the video would put out the full material.”

The guy can’t even manage a campaign. And he’s supposed to manage a country?

item:

“If somebody’s dumb enough to ask me to go to a political convention and say something, they’re gonna have to take what they get,” the veteran actor told an Extra correspondent during a one-on-one interview about his upcoming film Trouble with the Curve…

Asked if Mitt Romney was that “somebody,” Eastwood initially said “yeah,” before adding, “actually, he had some of his people ask.”

LW/HB

I take it, Larry, that your brief love affair with Romney is now over?

Hi Mata,

I grew up in Michigan. Mitt Romney was born about 25 days before me. He had his first date with his wife Ann at the Birmingham Theater, where I worked as an usher/coal shoveler/janitor during 11th and 12th grade. Good chance I took his ticket, at least once. We both graduated from HS in 1965. I thought his father, George, was a truly great governor. An actual profile in courage — he publicly supported the agenda of Martin Luther King Jr, at a time when the GOP was basically in bed with J Edgar Hoover, with regard to King’s actions.

I admired Mitt’s business achievements (before I came to understand just how little in common private equity has with running a typical business, in the real world). I admired what he did as the governor of Massachusetts, particularly with regard to health care. I admired what he did with the Salt Lake City Olympics. I admired the fact that he was one of the first to complete Harvard’s challenging JD/MBA program.

I was publicly cheerleading for him on the Internet as late as January, 2008.

I recently took the Pew research center political test:

http://www.pbs.org/newshour/vote2012/quiz/

I came out EXACTLY in the center. To the right of all the Democratic categories. To the left of all the Republican categories, overall (actually falling in the moderate Republican range with regard to social issues). Right smack dab in the middle, overall. But on F/A, I’m viewed as a socialist. I’m sure that all my friends here (from JohnGalt to Retire05) would test out to the right of Tea Party; I’m guessing that you (Mata) would test out as Tea Party on economic issues and moderate conservative on social issues.

Anyway, you can see why the “old” Romney would be attractive to someone with my views.

But the “47%” video was truly the last straw. The man has no principles, whatsoever. He’ll say whatever he thinks the people in the room want him to say. All politicians pay attention to polls and speak to their audience. Obama did this with his “clinging to guns and religion” moment, in San Francisco. I expect politicians to be politicians. But I don’t believe that Romney believes, in his heart of hearts, what he’s saying, these days. I think that Obama does believe what he’s saying. And what Obama is saying is closer to my views than what Romney is saying.

The irony is that, if Romney were saying what I think he really believes, he’d be closer to my views than is Obama. But I’d have much greater respect for someone like Gingrich, who actually does believe this stuff and articulates it with true conviction, than I do for Romney, who is the personification of a caricature.

I think that the long term conservative cause is better served with an Obama victory, but with GOP control of Senate and House. That would be my personal preference, with regard to the outcome of the upcoming election. With any luck, we could have the type of governance we had with Clinton in the Presidency and a GOP congress. That was the best federal government that I ever experienced, in my lifetime.

@openid.aol.com/runnswim:

He is actually correct, however Romney was not articulate enough when he said it. However after saying that you and I have no idea whether the video was tampered with. Knowing the democrats would sell their grandmother and steal her back, I wouldn’t put it past them.

Yes those who do work pay SS, FICA, et al. (those who do not work, pay nothing) Those are what I would call sunk costs – and that goes for all of us. However what irks me are the people who pay little into the system and get more than they paid in. Then there are also the illegals who get billions, yes statistics have shown billions in refunds – and they are illegals who already suck off our system and get benefits American citizens cannot. Then of course there are those that can work but are too lazy; those who won’t work unless they get the job of their dreams; and the women who use their uterus like a lottery machine (to name a few). The ‘welfare’ system was designed to help people out in a tight spot, it wasn’t supposed to be a way of life.

We are supporting these people. O.K I will talk about myself. I am funding these people. I grew up with the work ethic that if I worked hard and applied myself I could better my situation – and I did. I also taught my daughters the same. They have both received, in this horrific economy promotions (and nice ones at that) in a state that has unemployment second only to Nevada. Why? because they know how to work hard, how to apply themselves and are willing to work. Perhaps I got off onto a tangent, but what is wrong with asking someone to work for what they want ? Romney told the truth, he just didn’t say it eloquently enough – and we don’t really know what was left off the video.

@openid.aol.com/runnswim:

You know, or should, that I am not one of Romney’s goupies. But for you to slam him for what he said, which is true, because you didn’t like the way he said it, but when Obama reads his prepared talking points from a teleprompter, you agree more with him, well, frankly, you are sticking your head in the proverbial sand. Perhaps you would like to tell us what part of Obama’s Saul Alinsky philosophy you agree with.

But it is the goal of the left wing media to twist what Romney said. Was he wrong? Do 47% of all tax filers not pay income taxes? That is a well documented fact. But the media immediately made it about “seniors”on Social Security, but as I showed here yesterday, seniors do pay taxes on their Social Security benefits more often than not. I doubt that Mitt Romney doesn’t know that. The left argues “but anyone who works DOES pay taxes, pay roll taxes” but never mentions that every employee does so with the reasonable expectation of getting that money back, either thru unemployment benefits or Social Security benefits. Income tax, on the other hand, is simply earnings that those of us who do pay federal income tax send to Washington, D.C. to be thrown down the rabbit hole of the federal coffers with no expectation of getting any of it back.

So what part of his comment do you disagree with? Do you disagree that those who exist on taxpayer largess will vote for Obama, thinking he will continue to redistribute the wealth in their direction? Do you disagree that there is a mindset by certain citizens that they deserve to be supported by the labor of others? Do you disagree that is an “entitlement” mindset?

I am constantly amazed that people like you, who is probably part of the upper 5%, supports the redistribution of your own wealth thru government agencies. If you want to redistribute your own wealth, you should have the right to do it yourself, not be forced to by the IRS. Pick a poor family and support them. Charity is not charity if it is forced on the one doing the giving. But remember, being poor in this nation is relative. Being poor, in reality, is when you don’t have enough to eat, living without basic services like indoor plumbing, but in the U.S., the poor have cell phones, large screen TVs, plenty to eat, cable TV services, own homes, own relatively new vehicles, live in homes that not only have heat in the winter but air conditioning in the summer. Our “poor” live better than many middle class in modern day Europe.

Our government creates the class of “poor” based on personal income levels, but it also does not include in-kind contributions that makes the life style, and the buying power” of the “poor” greater than many middle class families. It is a false statistic. We have a system where ambition and hard work is punished while apathy and bad choices are rewarded. If you support that, then I suggest you do as I suggested; find a poor family, add their income to yours, divide it in half and give them that part of your earnings that will make their income equal to yours.

Oh, and your little quiz on where you stand politically is bogus. The questions are generalized and not fully explainatory. If you want to know where you stand, I suggest the Nolan Chart:

http://www.nolanchart.com

It’ll be interesting to see where this goes. It could be the death knoll for Romney. On the other hand, it puts him in the spotlight giving him an opening to focus the race back on the dismal “recovery”. If he can show voters that the problem with those who don’t pay taxes isn’t them, but Obama’s policies which have increased the number of those not working, it could be a winning issue for him. When you look at the unemployment rate and reduction of income, anyone claiming that the average person is better off now than 4 years ago is delusional.

Cornell Law Professor William Jacobson has been in contact with David Corn about the “Mitt-49%” video. Corn has now come clean that there is [at least] a two minute gap in the video, which he did not immediately disclose. In the videos provided, Romney goes from talking about polls, to unrelated comments on China.

Professor Jacobson contacted Corn yesterday, but Corn tried to stonewall a legal eagle. It didn’t work. Now Professor Jacobson is calling b/s on Corn’s response that there was no intent to provide edited clips of Mitt Romney’s speech.

Corn’s latest response to Professor Jacobson is the lead story on Jacobson’s website:

http://www.legalinsurrection.com

Somehow I doubt that David Corn appreciates having his dishonesty exposed.

@retire05:

It doesn’t matter, retire05. At least not to the Obama sycophants, in the media, on the web, and our own resident liberal/progressives. Context doesn’t matter in the concerns of the liberal/progressives. Conservatives took Obama’s “you didn’t build that” phrase out of context. Romney’s statement, however, wasn’t. According to them.

Most are disingenuous. Some are pathological liars. All are smitten by “the Won”. He can do no wrong. Obama could smack babies around and kiss grandmothers full on the lips, and the media, along with the rest of the liberal/progressive world, would kneel down in a line so Obama could present his posterior for them to kiss.

The disconnect from reality that these liberal/progressives show is staggering, at times. How do you combat such deranged minds as they possess?

So larry was allegedly out of love with obama? Riiiiight. That would have required larry to admit he was completely wrong about obama. It also didn’t take much to drive him back into the arms of obama. From larry’s posting history, but it’s clear that while he isn’t as far to the left as the dems in charge, he’s no centrist like he wants to believe he is. More like center left.

So larry, you admit that obama governed from the far left?
That he did not pick moderates for his administartion?
That he has overstepped the bounds of presidential authority?
That he has not been good for the country?

@Hard Right:

While Larry and the rest of the “centrist”, or “moderate” liberals were cheering on the election of Barack Hussein Obama, the progressives were carrying them all on their shoulders as they silently marched the Democratic party to the left as far as they could.

From that perspective, it’s easy to see why Larry, and guys like Rich, would claim that the GOP and conservatives went farther to the right. Meanwhile, we, who have been standing still since Obama’s “coronation”, are perplexed when the liberal/progressives tell us our party has moved to the “extreme”.

@johngalt: It’s a very cult like following. When people cheer on or look the other way with regards to the flagrant breaking of our laws and thumbing of the nose at our Constitution, this country has a serious problem. Just last week it was revealed that Sebelius broke campaign laws and no one paid any attention.

http://dailycaller.com/2012/09/18/reporters-havent-asked-about-sebelius-breaking-law-in-w-h-briefings/

@johngalt:

Yeah, we’ve moved so far to the right we nominated a moderate for our presidential candidate. The left flunks even basic logic tests.

hi, you know, if you leave ROMNEY BECAUSE OF THAT MEETING WITH HIS FUNDRAISERS,
without acknowledging the all out effort from the OBAMA TROOPS TO ONLY WIN TE RE-ELECTION
FOR HIM, AND AS A SMART PERSON YOU CLAIM TO BE, FOCUSING ONLY NOT ON A TRAITOR EMPLOYED BY OBAMA AND YOU BELIEVE HIS VIDEO SCAM,
AND ADDED TO IT, YOU FAIL TO LOOK AT THE BROAD VIEW EXPOSED TO US FROM THE HATERS OF AMERICA, PLUS WHAT OBAMA JUST ASKED THE MUSLIMS TO HELP HIM FIX THAT PROBLEM, WITHOUT A WORD ON TRYING TO ASK AMERICANS OPINIONS ON IT, AND PLUS HIS WAY OF ARROGANCE WITH THE ISRAEL PM, WHO KNOW WHERE IRAN ARE AT, AND WANT TO PERSONALLY TALK WITH THE PRESIDENT OF THE USA TO MAKE SURE HE IS SUPPORTING HIM ON WHEN THEY WILL DECIDE TO BRING ABOUT THE IRAN FALL OF HIS NUCLEAR PROGRAM BEFORE IT’S READY TO LAUNCH, MAKING IT TOO LATE TO REACT TO IT, BECAUSE OF THEIR CLOSENESS TO THE DANGER,
NOW I repeat again if you or any AMERICAN JEW let DOWN MITT ROMNEY THIS COMING NOVEMBER,
YOU WILL REGRET YOUR ACTIONS FOREVER, PLUS YOU WILL LOOSE YOUR OWN SUPPORT
AMONG FRIENDS AND FAMILY, IT WILL HURT YOU WHERE THE MOST PAIN IS AND YOUR PRESTIGE WILL BECOME ZERO JUST LIKE BLOOMBERG HELPING THE MUSLIMS BUILT THEIR MOSQUE FOR HIS OWN PERSONAL PROFIT,
PLUS THIS FA YOU LIKE TO COME TO GIVE YOUR OPINION FAVORING OBAMA FOR ANY EXCUSE YOU CAN FIND,
JUST LIKE THIS ONE WHICH IS NOT ACCEPTABLE,UNLESS IT WOULD COME FROM AN IDIOT,
WE HERE WOULD REMIND YOU ALWAYS ON THE MARK YOU HAVE ON YOUR PROFILE AND YOU WOULD BECOME BRANDED AS A NOT CARING FOR AMERICA WHICH IS SINKING MORE AS LONG AS OBAMA IS THERE,
DON’T FORGET THOSE WHO DIED TO SAVE YOUR AND DEMOCRATS ASS WHO SOLD TO THE MUSLIMS,
JUST FOCUSS ON AMERICA’S NEEDS, WHICH SHOULD BE ABOVE YOU AT THIS POINT IN TIME.

@Hard Right:

It is a nearly complete disassociation from reality. A nearly complete disconnect from truth.

-See the unemployment numbers? It’s only because there wasn’t enough cash wasted on the Stimulus. Or that the numbers are dropping(even as they play that same three-monkey game regarding who is actually out looking for work).

-See GM, the car company Obama nationalized, sending jobs overseas? It’s only because of ‘fly-over country’ Americans being too dumb not to buy that Americanized Yugo, the Chevy Volt.

-See that $6 Trillion in new debt? That’s only because Obama ‘inherited’ a tanking economy, and needed the government to spend all that dough to send us into a ‘recovery’. For three years. That still hasn’t produced any meaningful jobs. That sent our deficits rocketing above $1 Trillion per year. Every year. And for years to come. As they forget all about their whiny bellyaching at Bush’s several hundred Billion dollar deficits. That they called “un-patriotic”.

-See that shiny new Obamacare, that already caused your healthcare plan you preferred to go away? That’s only because it’s “fair” to limit your own healthcare, so that those who “need” it, can get it. And it’s only costing you, and those who still have a job, money, because of all those people still out of one. That Obama hasn’t done anything meaningful to produce. That the MSM is ignoring, because it tells the real story of the economy.

-See that transparency Obama promised shuttered up with panes of solid steel? That’s only because “secrets” might be divulged to our enemies. Since those enemies happen to be the American people who “bitterly cling to their guns and bible”. Only because they couldn’t have passed that aforementioned abomination of a bill, Obamacare, if people would have actually been able to read what was written. And meanwhile, the “story” of Bin Laden’s death can be divulged, since it exalts our dear leader, Obama.

-See those ‘Green energy companies’ failing left and right, after having taken Billions in government “loans” and grants? That’s only because the backward thinking people in our country, those evil conservatives, are too stupid to see that solar is the energy of the future, and that wind power creates unicorns and rainbows. It’s not “crony capitalism” like Bush practiced with his domestic military industrial complex companies like Halliburton and Blackwater getting all of those preferred contracts overseas. No, this isn’t “crony capitalism”. It’s giving the “little guys” a chance. A leg up. And they weren’t given the “loans” and grants because they gave Obama campaign money. No, they were given those “loans” and grants to help usher in Obama’s wonderful view of where our country should be. And they are only giving back, to Obama, from those “loans” and grants, campaign money in appreciation for our dear leader’s benevolence and foresight.

Yeah, reality has completely left the building.

@johngalt:

Well said as usual. What bothers me is that the inmates are slowly taking over the “asylum”. 47% still support obama. Unbelievable.

HR, more than “47%” support Obama. Hasn’t had an approval rating lower than 47 since late August.

The more important question would be is this because Obama is a strong incumbent, or Romney is a weak challenger?

Larry re#3 Very well articulated. As usual. Like you,I graduated high school and college in the 60’s. JFK “asked not—” and I joined Marine Corps Officer (PLC) program my freshman year in college.
When I’ve taken political determinant tests I score Libertarian.
From early postings I’ve been a supporter of a Romney nomination. Like you, my hope was for a social moderate with a strong business background. I believe Obama inherited a rough economy and the recovery is happening slower than I would have hoped.
Does he deserve 4 more years? Can Romney do better with the economy while maintaining a moderate social profile? I believe this the question posed by many undecideds.

Romney’s problem, as you point out, seems he is saying one thing to Repub.base and another to the more moderate among the electorate.Polls indicate 3/4 of the electorate feel they have nothing in common with Romney.
He certainly lacks the charisma of R.R. He must be inclusive to get elected. He can pound BHO but that won’t be enough to win. He must clearly present his vision. The debates will be critical. I lean Obama but Romney still has a chance to get my vote.

Semper Fi

@Richard Wheeler:

Do you think that Obama isn’t saying one thing in public and then another to his cult worshipers like Jay-Z? And Romney is no RR? No sh!t, Sherlock, but who is? Certainly not the community organizer that the press has done such a wonderful job hiding his background. Or do you believe those two bits of revisionist history Obama calls his books?

Can Romney do better in four years than Obama? That’s setting a pretty low bar for Romney, isn’t it, considering that most Americans are worse off now than they were four years ago. Or do you really believe those false 8.3% unemployment rates that were only acheived by dropping millions of Americans from the work force? Now, I would be interested in where you think those Americans went. Are they just sitting home enjoying the ham hocks and beans they are now being forced to eat because they have no jobs?

Rich, your dishonesty become more blatant everyday. If you were honest, you would admit that you are a painfully blind liberal partisan. I doubt you EVER entertained the idea of voting for Romney. Didn’t you say you were part of the 47%? Why would you want your gravy train to end?

Retireo5 I am certainly not part of the 47% that Romney is referring to. I live in a beautiful 4 bedroom ocean view home in San Clemente and have paid taxes for 40+ years.

You guys don’t hear the message sent by people like Larry. Don’t forget the social issues—-immigration reform, human rights, women’s rights. A belief that the least among us are of worth.
The extreme nastiness displayed by the partisan far right won’t help Romney.

I’ve said many times I’m here to learn from people like Mata,Word and Aye. At the same time, I Greatly enjoy and admire the input of Larry,Greg and Tom.

Have a great day.

Mata, the thread about Romney could easily be a 100 post thread.

I see both larry and rich live in la-la land. I notice larry didn’t answer my post. Biiig shock. He still won’t face reality about obama tho.

I Greatly enjoy and admire the input of Larry,Greg and Tom.

Larry I could understand. Greg and tom, tho? Rich, that just shows you to be the partisan leftist you try to pretend you aren’t. That and your complete lack of integrity…and honesty… and decency…

H.R. You speak of decency while suggesting I have syphilis? You are a sad joke. Who can take you seriously?
You’ve learned nothing from Mata.

@Hard Right, I don’t think I could find that much of interest in the subject matter to indulge in that many comments… LOL

But I well remember Larry entertaining Romney as a possible alternative to Obama before this. Which is why I asked. He told me, and I’m sure not going to make a judgement call on his personal “last straw”. Each of us has their own tipping point on things.

I can’t effectively argue that Romney *isn’t* going around, attempting to play up conservative characteristics he doesn’t possess, merely to pander to the base. He is. We all know that.

Obama has always portrayed himself as what he is… a supporter of redistribution of wealth. Or as many of us think of it – a proponent of a big spending welfare State. On foreign policy, he’s a dreamer – assuming that civil dialogue works when dealing with the barbaric and uncivil. Since he’s hypersensitive to criticism and unpopularity, he “leads” by remaining neutral (which really isn’t leading…), is slow to respond until his finger goes in the air, and prefers the safest way out that preserves his personal image. Been like that since he’s been in politics, except that he’s no longer the golden boy.

While Obama is consistent, he does alter the intensity and passion for those (IMHO, unappealing…) traits to accommodate for his particular audiences. All pols pander. But you have to admit, he’s consistent about who he is when he’s pandering.

Whether one can find that an admirable trait… well, I suppose. He’s never lied to anyone about being a Euro-socialist ideologue, and what you see is what you get. The largest problem is the intellectual level of a large part of the constituency hasn’t figured out that what sounds good in lofty speeches and love-the-one-you’re-with feel good emotions doesn’t translate so well into economic realities.

Romney, on the other hand, has been the picture of dichotomy between what he says, and what he’s done. He’s demonstrated he can be downright dirty and nasty in a campaign (the primaries), but he seems to reserve that nastiness for only his GOP peers. That doesn’t much endear me.

So anyone who isn’t on the Euro-socialist welfare State bandwagon has to take the leap of faith as to who Romney really is, and what he will be. I think the best way I’ve heard friends describe it was that Romney wouldn’t advocate for conservative change, but he may not stand in the way of it either.

Not much to hope for, considering our short distance to fiscal-no-return. Me? I’m resting my hopes on a repeat of 2010, and an influx of freshman Congressional representatives that actually remember what the limitations of the central government are supposed to be.

@Richard Wheeler:

You reap what you have sown, rich. You haven’t learned anything period.
You throw your lot in with scum, you are treated likewise.

@MataHarley:

I am not wild about Romney either, but he’s still better than obama. Granted that means the bar has been set low, but that is the situatuion. One would think by now people would pick up on obama’s BS or at least realise he’s done squat right after 4 years. I understand most people don’t follow politics like we do, but you don’t even have to follow at all to see the “fruits” of his labor. Discouraging really. Hopefully enough people will go Republican election day.
As for larry, I have a hard time believing he was ever that serious about voting for Romney after all his previous obama posts.

HR, I think where you and I view the O’devotees differently is that you believe they are being fooled, while I believe that there is a huge amount of Dems/libs/progs who want Euro-socialism here. So they aren’t picking up on his BS because they want exactly what he’s selling.

The question is, has the nation hit that tipping point where more want Euro-socialism than a return to a lesser empowered central government? Only time will tell. But I’d say that Obama owes Bernanke a big, wet, slopping kiss for his gift of QE3.

MITT ROMNEY WILL WIN THIS NOVEMBER, NO MATTER THE ATTACKS AND DEMOLITION ON HIS PROFILE, HE HAS THE SUPPORT OF HIGHLY SMART LEADERS OF THIS NATION,
HE MIGHT NOT HAVE A BIG MOUTH AS OBAMA BUT A BIG MOUTH DON’T PRODUCE
NOTHING BUT AIR MIX WITH SPIT YOU CAN’T SEE AND YES GERMS,
WHILE MITT ROMNEY HAS BRAIN WHO CAN GET THIS COUNTRY ON HER WHEEL TO ROLL,
AND A SOUND BRAIN NOT ALTERED WITH DRUGS, OF ANY TYPE ,HE DOESN’T NEED DRUGS TO FIGURE THINGS OUT, HE RELY ON HIS SOUND JUDGEMENT AND KNOWLEDGE, AND ABILITY TO THINK AMERICAN NOT INDONESIAN, DON’T EXPECT A PERFECT HUMAN BUT YOU WILL HAVE HIS DEDICATION TO HIS PRESIDENCY, BECAUSE HE HAD MANY STRONG TESTIMONIALS OF WHO HE IS, PLUS THE COMPANIES WILL TRUST HIM AND COME BACK TO THEIR BELOVED AMERICA TO START THE JOBS FOR AMERICAN SUPPORTED BY MITT ROMNEY AND HIS SMART CREW WITH HIM SOME
TO DO THE MOUTH PIECE NEEDED, WHILE MITT WORK
ON IMPORTANT JOBS CREATION WITH COMPANIES TO CREATE MORE UNDER THE RIGHT DISPOSITIONS, ENCOURAGED NOT HARASS.
REMEMBER HAVING A BOSS TELLING YOU ABOUT THE TASK, AND NOT EXPLAINING WHY HE WANT IT DONE THAT WAY, BECAUSE IT’S IN HIS HEAD, THAT IS MITT ROMNEY,
AND IT IS DAM BETTER THAN AN EMPTY TALKING MOUTH.

@MataHarley:

Actually, I understand the obama lovers want Euro-Socialism. We agree on that. That is what, 30 to 35% of the people who support him? I think there is another group of dem true believers who want to believe that obama doesn’t want socialism. I’ve run into them and there is no proof you can show them to make them understand what his end goals are. All they understand is dems=good, Republican=evil. Dems=for the little guy, GOP=for evil corporations. When the tipping point comes that we have enough people wanting socialism, and enough who deny the dems are pushing for it, we are screwed.

@MataHarley:

HR, I think where you and I view the O’devotees differently is that you believe they are being fooled, while I believe that there is a huge amount of Dems/libs/progs who want Euro-socialism here.

I tend to think that it is a mix of both of those, along with the third possibility of those who don’t necessarily like how far left Obama has moved things, but don’t want to admit they were wrong in voting for him either.

The die hard progressives do want the Euro-socialism. In fact, I’d say that if given their druthers, they would like to see the move leftward at an even greater pace than Obama has managed.

Then you have those who have voted Democrat their entire lives. They like to believe that the Democratic party of today is as “grounded” as they thought the party was during the time of JFK and on up to Clinton. They revere Clinton as being the ultimate pragmatist, conceding points to the GOP while taking some of his own. And they think that Obama is just like that. Despite his utterance of “I won”. Despite ramming Obamacare through without any bipartisan support. Despite ramming the Stimulus through without any bipartisan support. Despite nationalizing an American company.

And on top of that, they somehow miss, probably on purpose, the “crony capitalism” they decried from the Bush years happening at an even more furious pace, via federal involvement in the GM takeover which gave preferential treatment to the UAW despite long-standing bankruptcy law, and via the Stimulus paying out BILLIONS to so-called ‘green energy companies’.

@Richard Wheeler:

You say you are interested in “immigration reform, human rights, women’s rights.” Those are nothing more than catch phrases put out by the left. If the left was so interested in “immigration reform” they would demand that Obama seal our borders, especially our southern border, that allows for the free flow of criminal elements. More Americans are killed every year by illegal immigrants than all the people who died in New York, D.C., and PA on 9-11-2001. If the left was really interested in human rights, they would defend our people against those who sneak across our borders and murder our citizens. Women’s rights? Like what? The right to have some unethical doctor rip your baby out of your womb in pieces? Or perhaps all the women who are forced to live in bondage and forced to wear a bee keeper’s outfit because some men don’t think they have control over themselves? Where are all the left wingers decrying the abuse women suffer by being stoned to death because they were raped?

So please, don’t give me the left wing platitudes about “rights” when they are working feverishly to take away my
Second Amendment rights just like they have removed my Forth Amendment rights when it comes to my Constitutional right of travel.

@Hard Right:

When the tipping point comes that we have enough people wanting socialism, and enough who deny the dems are pushing for it, we are screwed.

We are almost at that point now and if Obama gets re-elected it’ll be safe to say, “Too late we are already there.”

Mata Thank Bernanke for getting BHO re-elected and keeping his cushy job.
Mitt said about 4 weeks ago he was gonna fire him. Two weeks later comes QE3. Shoot first and aim later. Not too smart.

Larry says How can you trust a guy to manage the country when he can’t manage his own campaign. Pawlenty quit today as co campaign manager.
Polls show a loss coming in critical Virginia. Debates will be last chance to right the ship.

rich, Mitt cannot “fire” Bernanke. He can opt not to extend his appointment when his term is up at the end of Jan 2014. Don’t think that QE3 was a kneejerk response to a promise not to extend his current term, as Bernanke has been giving the markets fits and bursts of verbal adrenaline for some time. I’ve told you before, the markets are only operating on central government infusing of taxpayer dollars… whether the ECB of the the Fed. When the “free” government money stops flowing, the markets tank.

But I already said that Obama owed Bernanke a wet slopping kiss for the QE3 timing, just before an election. This lifts the markets up on the shoulders, and the less informed think good times are again around the corner. Instead, the price to the piper that must be paid just got a lot higher, and that balloon payment postponed.

Mata ” not to extend” vs. fire = out of a job.lol “good times are here again” just before an election surely deserves a “wet slopping kiss” and job security.
Agree market will correct ( tank) when rates start dramatically upward Thanks to Ben this won’t happen till BHO well into his 2nd term. Signs of life in mortgage lending and Real Estate prices.
