Intel Community Knew About North Korea’s Miniaturized Nukes Back in 2013, But Obama — Get This — Got Media to Downplay the Story

Ace:

Obama was never about managing foreign policy crises — he was about managing the media coverage of foreign policy crises. His theory was always that if the public doesn’t know about a threat, then, from a political point of view, he doesn’t have any problem.

More evidence of that.

Tuesday’s bombshell Washington Post story that the Defense Intelligence Agency (DIA) has determined North Korea is capable of constructing miniaturized nuclear weapons that could be used as warheads for missiles — possibly ICBMs — left out a crucial fact: DIA actually concluded this in 2013. The Post also failed to mention that the Obama administration tried to downplay and discredit this report at the time….The Director of National Intelligence and Obama officials subsequently tried to dismiss Lamborn’s disclosure by claiming the DIA assessment was an outlier that did not reflect the views of the rest of the U.S. Intelligence Community.

It was clear what Obama officials were doing in 2013. The DIA report represented inconvenient facts that threatened President Obama’s North Korea “strategic patience” policy — a policy to do nothing about North Korea and kick this problem down the road to the next president. Obama officials tried to downplay the DIA assessment to prevent it from being used to force the president to employ a more assertive North Korea policy.

Son of a bitch.

Obama deserves 200 years in prison Hillary 150 years for treason and crimes against the american people

When Obama doesn’t know how to handle an issue in a way that would benefit him politically, he just ignored it. Of course, Obama proved to not know how to handle ANY issue that did not involve bullying and oppressing the American people, so he has a long list of failures on his resume’.

Meanwhile, the dangerous world doesn’t just sit around and wait for a better opportunity and now all the threats Obama just wished would go away have to be dealt with by Trump. Democrats, instead of attacking him, should be giving him their undivided support for the sake of us all. But, in the end, they are Democrats….

From the linked article:

Three hours into a hearing of the House Armed Services Committee, Lamborn said the Defense Intelligence Agency, which is under the Pentagon, determined with “moderate confidence” that North Korea has the capability to make a nuclear weapon small enough to be launched with a ballistic missile.

The Colorado Springs Republican gleaned the information from the conclusion of a classified report, though that sentence was unclassified, said his spokeswoman Catherine Mortensen.

The report was classified, but that sentence was unclassified? Are we supposed to be stupid?

Evidently we are. And they’re now criticizing the Obama administration for not publicizing classified information that some republican nitwit purposely leaked. Which, apparently wasn’t considered to be credible to begin with.

@Greg:

Are we supposed to be stupid?

No, you’re not supposed to be stupid. But……………you’re a Democrat so it is a given you are. That’s why you’re a Democrat.

Guess Gullible Greggie doesn’t understand that even documents that are labeled “classified” can have sections that are later unclassified.

Yeah, Democrats are stupid.

Yeah, Democrats are stupid.

Democrats didn’t put a clueless reality TV host in the White House. Nor did they elect Congressional majorities that probably can’t tie their own shoes without assistance.

@Greg:
Didn’t Democrats just love Bill Clinton who made a deal with North Korea in the 1990’s that according to him would stop them from getting nukes. In fact he said they would be dismantling their nuclear program with the deal he put together.
Guess he lied. Big surprise.

@Greg: I have to wonder how the “clueless” President is doing so much more, so much better than the “genius” President that created and ignored so many of these problems?

Yeah, right. The wall that Mexico would pay for; the immediate repeal of Obamacare and its replacement with a much cheaper, much better plan; he was going to take no salary as President; he was going to push for Congressional term limits; appoint a special prosecutor to investigate Hillary Clinton’s many, many crimes; within 30 days he was going to develop a new plan to defeat ISIS, since Obama hadn’t done anything; he was going to move the U.S. embassy from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem; he was going to launch a massive infrastructure project and use U.S. steel exclusively in the construction; he wasn’t going to take vacations and was going to stay off the golf courses; he was going to release his tax returns, as soon as the audits were done. (The IRS confirmed that most years in question were closed and not being audited.) And how’s that swamp-draining project coming?

He’s a bag of hot air. He appears to make no distinction between telling the truth and lying, saying whatever he thinks is most useful at the moment. He probably believes his own b.s. He’s the lead character in his own daily drama. He demands loyalty, but is loyal to no one, berating and demeaning those who have supported him one after the other. Any failure is always somebody else’s.

@Greg: In six months, he has revitalized the economy, cut illegal immigration 60%, restored US respect all around the world and is bringing businesses and jobs back to the US and all you crybaby liberals can do is bitch. Obama was an abject failure all across the board and all you can do is complain that Trump, besieged by sore losers from all sides, is not getting ENOUGH done.

Every one of his objectives are attainable and will, no doubt, be reached.

Now, he has to clean up the mess in N.Korea that Clinton made and Obama just walked away from.

@Greg: *DIRECTIVE FROM DNC COMMAND*

At this point, do not engage in propaganda operations unless the topic is Barack Obama – his presidency, legacy, or personhood…in any form.

The future of our Glorious Party hinges on the intellectual property gained during the Obama Presidency – a narrative and figure not easy to manufacture under normal circumstances.

Again, defend the image of Barack Obama at all costs. Our survival depends our creation of the false anti-Reagan built on fanfare and mob-manipulation.

DO NOT LET ANY NON-LIBERAL BLOG POST THAT CITES OBAMA IN ANY WAY GO UNCHALLENGED!

DNC COMMAND, OUT…

This most likely explains why a bit over one-third of Americans can’t see the obvious inconsistencies that define Donald Trump.

It’s not just Trump, though. It’s a collection of core beliefs that can’t be let go, no matter how much evidence argues against them. They pretty much define what has come to replace traditional republican views and traditional conservatism. Trump is neither a republican, nor a conservative.

Throw in a heaping portion of projection, and you’ve got the average Trump cultist.

@Greg: Trump is succeeding. Obama failed. That is the accurate summation.

How many times per day do you repeat that particular mantra?

@greg Probably as many times as you refute your own cognitive dissonance…

@Greg: How about until you understand the facts? The very fact that Trump has to deal with ISIS, Iran, N.Korea and a failing (now revitalized) economy is the proof.
