Congress needs to investigate this.
The legal watchdog Judicial Watch released an audio recording Thursday of a Department of Justice staffer urging Sanford, Fla., city officials and the minority advocacy groupDream Defenders to seek justice for Trayvon Martin, because “if a community perceives that there’s something wrong in the black community, there’s something wrong.”
That comment fits well with the “tone” set by Attorney General Eric Holder, who described black Americans as “my people” when he explained his Justice Department’s decision to drop the case against the New Black Panther Party, which had engaged in voter intimidation in Philadelphia, PA in the 2008 election.

EXACTLY!!…
I listened to most of the Audio. There were 9 points – almost half of those were aimed squarely at the Sanford Police Dept to the extent of their ‘practices’ – Hiring, investigative, how they apply the law etc…others were aimed at creating (more?) panels and agencies to investigate complaints of real or perceived racial incidents…building bridges… Only 1 of the 9 points was directed at the biggest part of just about any community – the ‘youth’ (violence)….wow!.
Didn’t Trayvon who was 17, on his face book pages, embody being a ‘gang banger’? I wonder what his parents thought of this? Did they know he was getting high? Did they know he was making concoctions with codeine to get high? Was into guns? Stealing from peoples homes? Listening to thug music?

I looked up the demographics of Sanford Fl. It’s not a very large city, however, there are over 12,000 people in the black community there… and only 40 people showed up for this meeting?? Where were all the others who are so concerned about ‘their’ community, race relations, building bridges, addressing the (violence) youth??

neighborhood level” I ask – (What problems specifically? Once a month? Once every three months? And how many are expected to attend in the future? Will this die a short death for lack of community involvement?)
Creating all kinds of agencies, commissions and the like are just pandering to a community.
Agencies and commissions are not aimed at the individual. The individual mindset is where it all starts. If you don’t know how to be a productive citizen, and engaged parent, a helpful citizen (volunteer), a good neighbor, without strings attached, and teaching the youth this (self satisfaction, pride), then all has failed before it even begins…it’s an unwritten community attribute called civic duty..
In that audio it’s what I did not hear, that is disturbing…what is disturbing is that these ‘peacekeepers’ (or Holder, Obama, Al, Jessie etc..) did not ‘specifically’ discourage rioting….or violence against anyone in retaliation of this death or ensuing trial…or addressing the ‘fact’ that the social media (twitter) is rampant with the meme of justice for Trayvon (through violence) and that the community should discourage any promotion of this especially by the ‘youth’ as in number 7 of their ‘points’…
….this (violence/rioting) is a undefined point and it needs to be spelled out (clarified) by those with an authority to do so…community leaders, clergy, parents….the 40 who attended…and especially Holder, Al, Jesse, Obama …
Rioting does nothing in the big scheme of things…it shows ignorance and a lack of skills to discipline, and regulate their own communities…no thanks to (negative) Government involvement …

IT WILL BE THE YOUNG BLACKS LOST AS SOON AS THEY SHOW THEIR FACE IN A WINDOW OR A CAR
WHICH IS PARKING, ANY CITIZENS WILL BE ON THE LOOK OUT FOR CLOSE BLACKS NO MATTER THE AGES.
Clearly the prosecution proved nothing in this case and without doubt there is extreme doubt!! If the black community wants to riot because they don’t get the verdict they like, I say bring it on!!

So, where is the ARREST WARRANT for this person?
Basically, you’re suggesting that this was a kid who needed to be shot dead on his way home from a convenience store, because of what you think you’ve figured out about his lifestyle from selected social media postings—which of course are totally accurate representations of every teenager’s true personality—and an assortment of bogus details you’ve turned up on a variety of right-wing websites.
Apparently Zimmerman was performing some sort of public service.
BTW, why should we be critical of the DOJ’s efforts to defuse anticipated anger in a community by channeling it into meetings and discussions? This is a nationally high-profile case, with the potential for stirring up a lot of trouble. You’d rather that destructive potential simply be ignored?

I wasn’t the one who posted these things on Trayvon’s face book pages or put pictures on his cell phone… are you saying that none of my questions have any merit because these things were simply not done and not true? That they were put on Trayvon’s face book pages and cell phone by some other person after he was shot to make him look bad?

Funny, I seem to recall the Judge not allowing these same exact things to be presented at the Trial in the form of evidence – they didn’t want to bring Trayvon’s ‘character’ into question….hmm
So, Greg, let’s be honest – it has nothing to do with “what I think or any right-wing websites” the stuff is out there and apparently it’s real otherwise why does a (Liberal) Judge know about it and would not let it be ‘admissible’ at trial – and the prosecution and the defense have it in their possession??

We all make choices…
Trayvon had several options that evening which he could have chosen to do to secure his own safety.
He made the choice not to do any of them.
He made the choice instead to confront Zimmerman.
Does that mean he deserves to be shot? Of course not.
Would I have though twice about confronting someone in a State where you are allowed to carry a registered concealed weapon, and not knowing if this person I had decided to confront had a weapon or not… you betcha.
