Hunter Who? Desperate Democrats Accuse Trump Jr. of Treason, Demand Imprisonment

by Mike Miller

As Joe Biden and his crackhead son Hunter move closer and closer to the consequences of their own nefarious deeds, desperate Democrats have dusted off Donald Trump Jr. and accused him of treason related to the January 6 breach of the U.S. Capitol, demanding he be imprisoned for his “crimes.”

Incidentally, it has amused the hell out of me for five years or more how both sides toss around the word “treason” at the drop of a politically expedient hat. Although, Trump Jr. can breathe a sigh of relief; wing-nut lawyer Lin Wood predicted Vice President Mike Pence would be arrested for treason and executed by firing squad, so it appears Jr. is going to get off relatively easy for his “treasonous actions.” </sarcasm>

As reported by Newsweek, “legal experts” are calling for Trump Jr. to face criminal proceedings after newly revealed text messages obtained by the January 6 House committee show he sought to prevent certification of the 2020 election and install his father to a second term. (Nonsense.)

While votes for the 2020 election were being counted, Trump Jr. texted then-White House Chief of Staff Mark Meadows laying out a strategy to keep President Donald Trump in power by throwing out election results of key swing states, CNN (Who knew?) reported Friday.

The disclosed texts shed further light on recent revelations of Trump and his inner circle’s efforts to block the certification of the 2020 election.

“It’s very simple,” Trump Jr. texted Meadows on November 5, the text reads, according to CNN. “We have multiple paths We control them all.”

In a statement to CNN, Trump Jr.’s lawyer Alan S. Futerfas explained:

After the election, Don received numerous messages from supporters and others. Given the date, this message likely originated from someone else and was forwarded.

Futerfas’ supposition about the November 5 text message tracks almost exactly with the strategy suggested by Trump allies at the time. Trump Jr. allegedly also made specific reference to filing lawsuits and advocating recounts to prevent certain swing states from certifying their results, noted CNN, as well as “having a handful of Republican statehouses put forward slates of ‘Trump electors.’”

Back to those “legal experts.”

Newsweek conveniently quoted various people, none of whom were driven by the Democrat narrative at all </sarcasm>, including University of Minnesota Law School Professor Richard Painter, former chief ethics lawyer for former President George W. Bush, who said on Twitter:

This was an attempted putsch. He belongs in the slammer!

Because all respected attorneys gleefully refer to prison as “the slammer!”

Next up, Glenn Kirschner, a former U.S. Army prosecutor, and current NBC News/MSNBC legal analyst.

The “Subject” line of Don Jr.’s email might as well have been, “I’m a member of my father’s criminal conspiracy to overturn the election.” How long do we have to endure this open, treasonous criminality by Trump and company before someone gets indicted?

Whoa, counselor — jump to a predisposed verdict without a trial, much?

And what professional, non-biased legal opinion would be complete without Democrat Rep. Ted Lieu (Loon-Calif.) tweeting:

This sure looks like an illegal conspiracy.

(Yes I know that in legal terms a conspiracy is itself already illegal and the word illegal is redundant. But I wanted to say illegal again to emphasize how illegal Donald Trump Jr.’s actions appear to be).

No word if Rep. Lieu also believes Hunter Biden compromised national security.

The bottom line.

All that any of the above suggests is that Team Trump, in many instances, planned to use the law and courts — legally — to their advantage, if possible, which is exactly what the Democrats do, ad nauseam.

Moreover, other than the November 5 text message, none of the above is new news.
