Remember when Turkey was a more or less secular country.
Not anymore.
There have been mass arrests and trials of the leaders who desired to keep Turkey a secular state after 2004……
From the Globe And Mail:

Seventeen generals and admirals, who are in line for promotion, have been jailed along with nearly 200 officers on charges of plotting to overthrow the government in 2003 in a case called the “Sledgehammer.”

More than 400 people — including academics, journalists, politicians and soldiers — also are on trial on separate charges of plotting to bring down the government.
That case is based on a conspiracy by an alleged gang of secular nationalists called “Ergenekon.”

I saw this earlier and couldn’t help but think that we are on the cusp of the ‘holy war’? This is not good. And right now we’re paying attention to the other hand, while this one is wiping out any ties back to Assad and Erdogan. Don’t see Hillary much anymore? And this admin is gunna need another cover story to take attention away from the building Fast and Furious one?
