Another man might have assumed, correctly, that launching a campaign of insult and insinuation against two billionaires would result in renewed attention to his own finances. Not Harry Reid. The Senate Democratic leader since 2005, and the Senate majority leader since 2007, is not one to reflect before speaking. His mouth runs far ahead of his brain.
In recent years Reid has declared an American war “lost” while our troops still fought overseas; praised President Obama for his “light” skin and “no Negro dialect, unless he wanted to have one”; asserted falsely and without evidence that Mitt Romney had not paid any taxes for a decade; and said “Why would we want to do that?” when asked if he would fund cancer research during the government shutdown.
Now, with his majority in danger, his president unpopular, his floor agenda obstructed by members of his own caucus, Reid thrashes about uncontrollably. He calls Obamacare horror stories “untrue.” He says Obamacare numbers are not as high as projected because Americans “are not educated on how to use the Internet.” His Senate Majority PAC launches a $3 million ad campaign tying Republican candidates to two men most Americans have never heard of, two men who, funnily enough, are more popular than Reid.
From the floor of the Senate Reid says these two men, Charles and David Koch, are “un-American,” are trying “to buy America.” Without the terrible specter of the Koch brothers Harry Reid would be disarmed. He has no issue for his Democratic Senators to run on; the minimum wage and climate change are not enough. Nor has he another means of inspiring donors to open their checkbooks. He only has fear, fear of the Kochs, fear of extractive industry, fear of the portion of the elite that favors economic freedom. The Koch brothers, Reid says, “rig the system to benefit themselves.” He should know.

Since Harry Reid has gotten away with his nepotism for many decades of being re-elected, I would say he has not lost his mind so much as gotten a mind-set that works for both him and his supporters.
I recall last time he ran for re-election he made sure all union workers in casinos were bused to their polling places so as to vote for him.
I think he was scared that a low turnout might have cost him.
But I really can’t see him running again.
He is old and his nastiness on the Senate floor is well known as a horrid joke.
Maybe Nevada can cough up on of his sons as a replacement.
Is there no other family in Nevada the unions will support?
I’ve listened to him speak on the floor…he insults…he accuses (mainly of course, republicans with all kinds of slights) and without so much as a piece of evidence or quote to prove his points… he just keeps on throwing it out there to see what ‘sticks’…like most lefty’s…
Like Pelosi, is time is up…stop your propaganda…stop your meaningless dribble only a low fo can relate to, above all, stop the blame game..those of us who are paying attention know which way the wind is really blowing…time for you sir, to be sent out to pasture too…
Nanny G please don’t jinx us with any thought that just might include another one of him…
Reid’s sons are worse and even farther left than the old man.
Oh, my!
Harry Reid has gone out in public and claimed he NEVER said that all (or even most) ObamaCare horror stories were fiction!
Does he know about video?
You Tube?
Is he, perhaps, really becoming demented?
You know, by dementia? Senility? Alzheimer’s?
He knows, he just doesn’t think anyone will call him on it because that would be racist…I think that he forgot he wasn’t black and may get called on his bullshit…unlike Hank Johnson and She-Jack that say stupid stuff all the time.
Reid’s example shows how completely they (far left liberals) take for granted the coverage and protection of the MSM. He can embarrass himself with his first statement, calling innocent citizens liars because they dare to say out loud how badly the Abysmal Care Act has affected their lives. Then, he feels safe and secure in denying he ever made such statements.
Anyone other than a liberal would have their lies (both of them) covered for weeks by the MSM; look at how much speculation there has been on Christie denying any involvement in the bridge scandal.
But Reid knows the media is in his left pocket and he can lie freely while the liberal media will only cover his irrational points, not point out his conflicting lies.
Dr. John said:
I say — “What Brain?”
@Bill Burris: Yes – and crispie isn’t even a conservative!
For many years the democrats have been able to say anything they want, and the propaganda media would go along with it. I don’t watch the propaganda media, but I’m guessing that they erased every reference to Reid calling them liars.
harry has the early signs of Alzheimer’s (AD). one can see it in his behavior and especially his speech patterns.
