Ft. Hood on lockdown and reports of several wounded.
UPDATE by Rusty: I rushed to the computer as soon as I heard. As per the “related” link above, this came too close on the heels of reports earlier this week of a “Ft. Hood like” attack in the works. Only we were told that the suspect behind those threats was in a mental institution.
But as I’ve asked several times now, why would the FBI and military post a warning that bases might be under threat if that threat had been neutralized? And now this on the very same day that I posted said suspect was in a nut house? If this turns out to be a coincidence, then it will be an eerie one.
But John Thomas Jr, the guy who sparked the FBI alert, has been in custody for several weeks now and yet the alert went out any way. This suggests, possibly, that there was a worry that there were co-conspirators.
Fort Hood confirms that a shooting has occurred at the U.S. Army post near Killeen, Texas, “and injuries are reported.” No further details were released.
KGENT is saying that 8 have been injured, 1 dead.

At least we can be thankful that this gun-free zone helped to prevent workplace violence.
