Foreign Collusion, Confirmed: Ukranian Embassy Confirms That DNC Contractor Asked Ukraine to Provide Negative Oppo On Trump She Could Use in the Election Against Him

You can tell how much the media actually cares about collusion by their complete silence about acknowledged collusion, confirmed by the Ukranian Embassy.

In its most detailed account yet, the Ukrainian Embassy in Washington says a Democratic National Committee (DNC) insider during the 2016 election solicited dirt on Donald Trump’s campaign chairman and even tried to enlist the country’s president to help.

In written answers to questions, Ambassador Valeriy Chaly’s office says DNC contractor Alexandra Chalupa sought information from the Ukrainian government on Paul Manafort’s dealings inside the country, in hopes of forcing the issue before Congress.

Chalupa later tried to arrange for Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko to comment on Manafort’s Russian ties on a U.S. visit during the 2016 campaign, the ambassador said.

Chaly says that, at the time of the contacts in 2016, the embassy knew Chalupa primarily as a Ukrainian-American activist and learned only later of her ties to the DNC. He says the embassy considered her requests an inappropriate solicitation of interference in the U.S. election.

Chaly’s written answers mark the most direct acknowledgement by Ukraine’s government that an American tied to the Democratic Party sought the country’s help in the 2016 election, and they confirm the main points of a January 2017 story by Politico on Chalupas efforts.

Gee, I wonder if Chalupa has any other unsavory associations.

And I wonder if those unsavory associations have any connections to Cody Shearer, partner of Hillary Clinton’s Chief Conspiracy Theorist Sydney Bluementhal.

May 11, 2019 — Rudy Giuliani Cancels His Trip to Ukraine, Blaming Democrats’ ‘Spin’

WASHINGTON — Facing withering attacks accusing him of seeking foreign assistance for President Trump’s re-election campaign, Rudolph W. Giuliani announced on Friday night that he had canceled a trip to Kiev in which he planned to push the incoming Ukrainian government to press ahead with investigations that he hoped would benefit Mr. Trump.

Mr. Giuliani, President Trump’s personal lawyer, explained that he felt as if he was being “set up” by Ukrainians critical of his efforts, and he blamed Democrats for trying to “spin” the trip.

“They say I was meddling in the election — ridiculous — but that’s their spin,” he said.

Mr. Giuliani said on Thursday that he had hoped to meet in Kiev, the Ukrainian capital, with the nation’s president-elect and urge him to pursue inquiries that could yield new information about two matters of intense interest to Mr. Trump. One is the origin of the special counsel’s investigation into Russia’s interference in the 2016 election. The other is the involvement of former Vice President Joseph R. Biden Jr.’s son in a gas company owned by a Ukrainian oligarch.

The trip raised the specter of a lawyer for Mr. Trump pressing a foreign government to pursue investigations that his allies hope could help him win re-election. And it comes after Mr. Trump has spent more than half of his term facing scrutiny about whether his 2016 campaign conspired with Ukraine’s hostile neighbor, Russia. Mr. Giuliani had planned to leave on Sunday.

“The trip raised the specter of a lawyer for Mr. Trump pressing a foreign government to pursue investigations that his allies hope could help him win re-election.”

Most likely because that’s precisely what it was—a fact pretty much obvious to everyone.

How does this man not have a clown nose in his pocket to put on for such occasions? They’ve very inexpensive. Certainly much less than the fishnet stockings and high heels he has been known to wear.

It’s better to let the issue ride and then use the fact that Biden tried to kill and investigation into Hunter’s activities in Ukraine and the DNC tried to get Ukraine to interfere on her behalf in 2016 if Biden is the nominee.

An op ed from the Washington Post. Maybe someone has a different theory as to why assistance is being withheld from Ukraine, which is actively resisting Russian incursion. The Pentagon has already reviewed the package and recommended it be released; there’s also bipartisan agreement in Congress that it should be released.

If the aid isn’t provided by September 30 the allocation will expire. No doubt Vladimir Putin would be greatly pleased.

The WP editorial: Trump tries to force Ukraine to meddle in the 2020 election:

September 5, 2019 – UKRAINE’S NEOPHYTE president, Volodymyr Zelensky, took a big step this week toward proving that he will be, as he promised, the most pro-reform president in Ukraine’s history. On Monday, he laid out a breathtakingly ambitious five-year plan including virtually every measure the International Monetary Fund and Western governments have urged on Ukraine in recent years, from land reform to the privatization of state companies to a cleansing of the judiciary.

That ought to be cause for celebration in Washington, where successive Democratic and Republican administrations have tried to draw Ukraine away from Vladimir Putin’s Russia and into the ranks of Western democracies, only to be frustrated by the fecklessness and corruption of the country’s political leaders. Yet Mr. Zelensky has so far failed to win the backing of President Trump. Not only has Mr. Trump refused to grant the Ukrainian leader a White House visit, but also he has suspended the delivery of $250 million in U.S. military aid to a country still fighting Russian aggression in its eastern provinces.

Some suspect Mr. Trump is once again catering to Mr. Putin, who is dedicated to undermining Ukrainian democracy and independence. But we’re reliably told that the president has a second and more venal agenda: He is attempting to force Mr. Zelensky to intervene in the 2020 U.S. presidential election by launching an investigation of the leading Democratic candidate, Joe Biden. Mr. Trump is not just soliciting Ukraine’s help with his presidential campaign; he is using U.S. military aid the country desperately needs in an attempt to extort it.

The strong-arming of Mr. Zelensky was openly reported to the New York Times last month by Mr. Trump’s personal lawyer, Rudolph W. Giuliani, who said he had met in Madrid with a close associate of the Ukrainian leader and urged that the new government restart an investigation of Mr. Biden and his son. Hunter Biden served on the board of a Ukrainian gas company, while Joe Biden, as vice president, urged the dismissal of Ukraine’s top prosecutor, who investigated the firm.

Mr. Giuliani also wants a probe of claims that revelations of payments by a Ukrainian political party to Mr. Trump’s 2016 campaign chairman, Paul Manafort, were part of a plot to wreck Mr. Trump’s candidacy. In other words, Trump associates want the Ukrainian government to prove that Ukraine improperly acted against Mr. Trump in the 2016 election; but they also want it to meddle in his favor for 2020.

Mr. Zelensky is incapable of delivering on either demand. The revelations about Mr. Manafort came from a Ukrainian legislator who was fighting for domestic reform, not Hillary Clinton. And the Biden case, which has already been investigated by Ukrainian authorities, is bogus on its face. The former vice president was one of a host of senior Western officials who pressed for the dismissal of the prosecutor, who was accused of blocking anti-corruption measures.

The White House claims Mr. Trump suspended Ukraine’s military aid in order for it be reviewed. But, as CNN reported, the Pentagon has already completed the study and recommended that the hold be lifted. Yet Mr. Trump has not yet acted. If his recalcitrance has a rationale, other than seeking to compel a foreign government to aid his reelection, the president has yet to reveal it.

@Greg:

The former vice president was one of a host of senior Western officials who pressed for the dismissal of the prosecutor, who was accused of blocking anti-corruption measures.

That has been debunked by Joe, he insisted the prosecutor be fired for investigating the company paying his kid.

He bragged about his ability to withhold a billion in loans if they did not dance to his tune.

His kids dealings in China need to be investigated too.
Be nice to the calf to get the “cash cow.”
From Joe….
“I said, ‘You’re not getting the billion.’ I’m going to be leaving here in, I think it was about six hours. I looked at them and said: ‘I’m leaving in six hours. If the prosecutor is not fired, you’re not getting the money,’” Biden recalled telling Poroshenko.

“Well, son of a bitch, he got fired. And they put in place someone who was solid at the time,” Biden told the Council on Foreign Relations event, insisting that President Obama was in on the threat.
The Dems and cohorts have a habit of accusing others of what they are up to.

Trump is notorious for getting what he wants first then paying, politicians are liars show us the reforms.

So, the reason that the Trump administration suspended military aid to Ukraine, which is threatened by Russia, against the recommendations of both the Pentagon and Congress, is… ?

@Greg: Trump already sent aid to Ukraine; military aid obama refused to send. Anti-tank weapons and small arms.

I guess obama was Putin’s little bitch, huh?

@Deplorable Me:

Trump already sent aid to Ukraine; military aid obama refused to send. Anti-tank weapons and small arms.

The Trump administration authorized the sale of US-made arms to Ukraine. He’ll also authorize the sale of miracle no-stick skillets, if anyone wants to buy them.

He is, in fact, presently withholding assistance, against the recommendations of both the Pentagon and Congress. And Giuliani has, in fact, been pressuring Ukraine to open investigations targeting Joe Biden, who is presently Trump’s most likely 2020 opponent.

The invitation remains open to suggest some explanation that isn’t as corrupt as what circumstances lead one to suspect.
