KLAS:

A dramatic development in the saga surrounding rancher Cliven Bundy, the FBI has entered the case.

The 8 News NOW I-Team has learned that FBI agents have started an investigation into the events surrounding a potentially deadly showdown one month ago.

It is one thing for Cliven Bundy and his supporters to square off against an assortment of Bureau of Land Management employees. It is quite another when the FBI enters the picture, and that is exactly what has happened.

The I-Team has confirmed that FBI agents have launched a formal investigation into alleged death threats, intimidation and possible weapons violations that culminated with a dangerous showdown on April 12, and the first people to be interviewed by FBI agents are Metro Police, starting with Clark County Sheriff Doug Gillispie.

Federal employees suspended their roundup of Cliven Bundy’s cattle, following a confrontation outside the BLM compound near Bunkerville. At the urging of Metro Police, Bundy’s cattle were released, but BLM’s new director announced the matter wasn’t over and would be resolved, one way or another. We now know what that means.

Last week, the I-Team talked with Metro officers who intervened to protect the lives of federal employees from the 400 or so Bundy supporters and armed militia members. Officers told the I-Team they feared for their lives that day because of the assembled firepower, and because many in the crowd had pointed weapons at officers, taunted them, told them they should be ready to die.

Assistant Sheriff Joe Lombardo, who was left in charge of the Metro contingent by Sheriff Doug Gillespie, told the I-Team that such alleged behavior would be the subject of a criminal investigation.

“The federal authorities are conducting an investigation and I am pretty confident it is going to go into the future,” Lombardo said.

“(Would there be consequences for somebody there on video tape, on a news camera pointing a gun at a Metro officer, pointing a gun at a federal ranger?) Yes, there is definitely going to be consequences, definitely. That is unacceptable behavior. If we let it go, it would continue into the future,” Lombardo said.

Will the FBI also be investigating the actions of the BLM? Tazing Bundy’s son, threatening and intimidating the Bundy with their own heavily armed forces and SWAT team? Rustling and killing his cattle and trying to bury the evidence?

Officers told the I-Team they feared for their lives that day because of the assembled firepower…

Which of course is the entire point of the 2nd Amendment.

yes the BUNDY where attack, with his family WITH HIGH POWER
weapon that can pulverize a person pointed at them,
does the FEDS think the people won’t defend themselves in case like this,
INVESTIGATE THE FIRST ONE ON THE SCENE WHO WHERE THREATENING THE UNARMED FAMILY TAIZING ONE TWICE AND DOG THREATENING THE PEOPLE UNARMED,
THEN YOU WILL HAVE THE REASON WHY NO ONE WOULD HAVE LEFT A GOOD MAN AND HIS FAMILY
UNDER SUCH A THREAT ALONE,
EASY TO FIGURE OUT, THE FBI IS SENT BY THE REIDS OBAMA BUNCH, AND WHO IS SENT BY THE PEOPLE?
A BALANCE IN FAIRNEST IS THE ORDER OF THE STORY,

CLEVEN BUNDY SHOULD SUE THE FEDS FOR ALL THE BLM DESTROYED AND THE INTIMIDATION ,
THEY SUFFER AND DEATH OF THEIR PRIZE BULL WORTH A LOT OF MONEY, THEY DESTROYED THE BUROWGH OF THE TOIRTOISES , THIS IS INCREDIBLY CRUEL, THEY SHOULD BE INVESTIGATED FIRST,
THE REID THUGS WILL TRY TO HARASS THEM LIKE THEY DID WITH OTHER RANGERS, WHO END UP QUITING THEIR RANCHS,
SHAME ON YOU WHO BRING MISERY TO AMERICAN HARD WORKER ,
HEY WHATEVER THEY DO, THEY BETTER REMEMBER THE PEOPLE ARE IN CHARGE IN AMERICA, AND THE GOVERNMENT IS THERE TO SERVE, DON’T YOU FORGET IT, REID, GO LEARN MORE CHINEESE WORDS,

would there be consequence?
not if the ranger is arm with weapons the caliber they had,
they pointed first, they only freaked out when they saw the milicia come in,

Militia, Along With Family of Cliven Bundy, Take Over Federal Land at National Wildlife Refuge in Oregon

The local sheriff’s thoughts regarding the militia members:

Sheriff David Ward says the men came to Harney County in remote southeastern Oregon claiming to be there in support of local ranchers, but were really there to spark a movement to overthrow the government.

This is the background, why is hamburger 6.50 a pound for lean why are we importing beef from Mexico?
Greg they took over a shack in the middle of no where to try to be heard, the BLM is a terrorist organization with government backing.

Range wars
http://americandictators.blogspot.com/2015/12/blm-burns-ranches-and-destroys-cattle_16.html
Unless its a national park shouldn’t the land be managed by the State? Why does Washington think it knows how to manage land, they are destroying the wild horse herds with their policies.

Greg they took over a shack in the middle of no where to try to be heard, the BLM is a terrorist organization with government backing.

They’re armed anti-government extremists that have unlawfully occupied federal property. The proper place for them to be heard was in the courtroom, or any setting where they have every right to express their opinions.

It’s fortunate for them that federal officials have acted less rashly than they have. They’d best hope that this continues to be the case. Armed insurrection isn’t something that the law takes lightly.

The Oregonian coverage is skewed. They are a far left publication and from other sources I know in Oregon, there is little truth to the story they published. This shows that the left has no idea what a real terrorist looks like and explains why we have San Bernardino!

@Greg: Oh heaven forbid anti government…did you read the back ground or history of the BLM and the war they have on ranchers? not just in Oregon and Nevada but Texas too. And now they say it was to cover up deer poaching what a crock, the BLM has been killing cattle with fires burning down homes.
Problem is the real ranchers are not as the Ponderosa and Big Valley there are few hired hands they bust ass all day everyday to feed their families its dangerous work with no close medical facilities. The Fed Gov should not be able to hold grazing rights over these peoples heads to be taken away cause some liberal tree hugger who lives 1000 miles away or more thinks that the cattle that have been grazing the land for over 100 years are suddenly ruining it. This is not an Obama thing its been going on for many years, Its a Washington DC BLM bureaucratic power trip thing . The BLM has outlived its original intent, the lands that are not national Parks need to be given over to the States to manage. No one will know about these abuses of federal power unless these guys do something over-the-line to call attention to it. The Bundy case was to protect the tortoise, look to see what happened to the Tortoise refuge in Nevada the gov spent a million to steal Bundy cattle and this is how they save the tortoise http://www.sfgate.com/nation/article/Tortoises-to-be-euthanized-as-sanctuary-goes-broke-4760345.php

@Greg: They’re armed anti-government extremists that have unlawfully occupied federal property. The proper place for them to be heard was in the courtroom, or any setting where they have every right to express their opinions.
They had a day in court served the sentence handed down, in waltzes the Feds calling them Terrorists for cripes sake alive.
They admitted to setting the fires that got out of hand, they put them out without help. The Government wanted their land, they had seen every other Rancher get forced out. They saw the government burn other ranches and kill cattle, they set a fire as a break so the BLM thugs wouldnt burn the ranch. The Building they are in is away from populated areas, this is a child of the Sagebrush wars which raged before Regan was in office, how long can unelected bureaucrats be allowed to abuse their offices and use the power of Washington and greenie lobby freaks steal from them? Its public land I like to eat beef let the ranchers have their leases and let them prosper without harassment.
How is Mc Donalds going to pay 15 bucks an hour without beef or if the price of beef goes much higher??
Are not the libs agaisnt minimum sentencing? Stop being such a hypocrit Greggie, or are you a racist its ok for Blacks to ruin Christmas shopping but a few white men cant sit peacfully in a remote government shanty to try to protest real grievences.

@Greg: Odd you or no other leftist took the same stance when Occupy Wall Street squatted in parks, trashing them and local businesses, carrying out violent attacks, raping and trading in illegal drugs. Or, when BLM shuts down highways, riots, loots or calls for innocent people to be killed.

Is there some sort of double standard in play for the left, Greg?

@Bill: To do what you suggested would require rational thought. It would require unbiased comparisons. It would require ignoring liberal ideologies. Greg could never do any of that.

@Bill, #13:

Do you really want to talk about double standards?

Occupy Wall Street protesters didn’t show up as an armed “militia,” take over federal property with the stated intention of remaining, and indicate that they’d “defend themselves” with deadly force if law enforcement officials attempted to remove them.

Nor do I recall anyone around here strongly objecting to the fact that Occupy Wall Street protesters were responded to in multiple locations with massive police assaults involving billy club beat-downs, tear gas, pepper spray, and occasional rubber bullets. I remember seeing ridiculous videos of female protesters in Berkeley being pepper sprayed directly their faces while calmly seated across a sidewalk, when anyone could easily have avoided their “blockade” by simply walking around them.

@Bill: He only sees what he wants to see. Every post he makes supports our assessment of him!

@Greg: Well, gosh, Greg. Let’s just do a little comparison.

Admittedly, the Oregon militia standoff is young, but they have damaged nothing. They have “occupied” abandoned land and buildings.

Occupy Wall Street moved in to public and private property, wrecking, burning, looting and trashing. They moved into several communities and disrupted business, lives and caused havoc and violence.

The Oregon militia has a single demand of the federal government: leave them alone and allow them to use the land in THEIR STATE for what the land is suited. These ranchers want to work, contribute to the economy and support their way of life.

What did OWS demand? Sustenance. They demanded what they “are owed”. They demanded that people that were working and making a living stop what they were doing and hand over their earnings to THEM. They supported their demands with threats of violence and violence. They followed that up with property destruction; PRIVATE and public property. They don’t want the government to leave them alone; they want the government to somehow simultaneously cease to exist AND fully support their lives and lifestyles.

The government never moved in and stomped out OWS. When there was action, it was in response to violent attacks. In fact, our leftist government rationalized for them and excused their actions. Obama, Holder, Pelosi and Reid ENCOURAGED them. Yet, there are calls to move in with weaponry and drive the Oregonians out of their protest.

Yeah. Let’s talk double standard for a while. Let’s also talk hypocrisy and leftist anarchy. The left is becoming more criminal and corrupt every day.

@Greg: Both the wall street freaks and the Black lies mutters cannot clearly express what exactly they are demanding be done. Unless you count we want other peoples stuff and refuse to put forth an effort to EARN it. No comparison to the Oregon protest, yes they are armed but not wanting to hurt anyone, they want the nation to know that hard working people are getting abused by a government agency. They are not blocking traffic, looting, burning down innocent persons businesses, trashing a park harassing people trying to get to work, throwing bricks and rocks at the police, liberal protests are so violent. A full investigation should be made looking into the abuses of the BLM. 100 ranchers were put out of business in Oregon. The men that are going to jail are the last holdouts the father 73 years old might not live out the sentence the government has insisted on. What are the women supposed to do with their men in prison? Do people have to be a burden on society for liberals to give a rats hair? Unlike the sheriff (who most likely will not be re-elected)I have no fear the local government will be overthrown, nor this will spark a firestorm across the country causing total anarchy, thats not what they really want they want to be treated fairly and justly by our employees the government.

@Bill, #17:

The Oregon militia has a single demand of the federal government: leave them alone and allow them to use the land in THEIR STATE for what the land is suited.

The Oregon militia? Their state? The Bundy boys came in from Nevada. Jon Ritzheimer came up from Phoenix, Arizona. They’re not there at the request of the Hammond family, whose case won’t likely be helped by out-of-state trouble makers. This just makes it more difficult for for any judge who might be inclined toward lessening their sentences. They’ve turned the Hammonds into pawns in their own game.

By the way, there’s no Constitutional authority allowing disgruntled citizens to organize into armed groups and demand special concessions of the government of the United States at gunpoint.

@Greg: I never said they were Constitutional. I never even said they were RIGHT. I merely described THEIR point as opposed to what OWS demanded and stood for.

However, I am far more inclined to support the point of the Oregon militia, people who actually WORK for a living, than I am to support OWS thugs out to take what other people own or destroy it.

Why should we assume that OWS protesters don’t have jobs? Or that all of the armed people illegally squatting on federal property up in Oregon do? Have the Bundys and the Hammonds not used public lands commercially without paying the required fees? Is it only the government that’s getting robbed, or might it also be the taxpayers?

I think we all tend to see things through the lenses of our own politics.

@Greg:

I think we all tend to see things through the lenses of our own politics.

Yes we do, don’t you?

You conveniently forget the demands and statements of OWS. However, the people in Oregon are ranchers who are protesting the federal government denying them the use of land they traditionally have used. Ranchers WORK and they work in a way you cannot even conceive. And, they HAVE been paying the fees. The Bundy’s. though, were refusing to pay the jacked up fees and continued to pay the fees they had been paying before Reid began trying to deny them their access so his son could make a sweet, money-making deal with the Chinese.

However, the people in Oregon are ranchers who are protesting the federal government denying them the use of land they traditionally have used.

American Indians originally depended on much of the land we now live on to maintain their traditional ways of life. Unfortunately the world changes. We don’t get to stop it from doing so when it reaches a particular point that we happen to like.

The entire argument about Harry Reid and the Chinese is political conspiracy theory. Naturally, all evidence that would support the theory has been hidden or destroyed. That’s why nobody can find it.

@Greg:
You continue to comment about something you haven’t bothered to spend 5 mins researching you ass. The videos in my post clearly show the BLM agents attempting to kill cattle in a pen, and men tending them, burning off the summer feed for those cows. Some of the cattle badly burned. Anyone that hears the full story will not blame them for taking up arms and defending both themselves and their fellow ranchers and the poor animals. This case was taken to the supreme court the plaintiff is the same government that is judging and imprisoning them.

Who do these people think they’re speaking for?

Who Wants A Burns Standoff? Not The Sheriff, The Ranchers, Or Even Cliven Bundy

Listen to the militiaman in the audio clip: “The Hammonds need to be defended … They can’t defend themselves, they can’t ask for help. You know, it’s asking a sheep to all of a sudden defend itself from the wolves.”

Who the hell do these people think they are, anyway? Who appointed them to be defenders of anything, or to be proclaiming anybody to be sheep in need of unlawful armed protection? They’re armed extremists who have come to an Oregon community they’re not part of—many from out of state—at the request of nobody who is directly involved in the local situation.

@Greg: The Hammonds were advised to break off all contact with the Bundys or they would get slammed into a less desirable prison, no one but a bunch of ignorant liberals on twitter want to see this end in violence. The liberal media calls them terrorists the GOP media is waiting to see what the candidates have to say (pathetic) and the real issue is being muddied. Go read up some more you continue to still sound ignorant.

You might take that advice yourself, and stop relying exclusively on right-wing websites as your sources of information.

Another positive in favor of the Oregon protesters… they aren’t Soros-paid dupes serving the left wing purpose of creating chaos.

@Greg:Looked for a bit at the more mainstream media oh boy this story is not about the Hammonds at all its all about the white privilege of the Bundys, they should call out the National guard, if they were black or muslim blah blah blah. This isn’t a story about the 400 thousand dollar fine for temporary damage to less than 200 acres, A 5 year prison term for the men, the original judge thinking the terrorist charges were ridiculous. The government employees blocking lawfully obtained water for the cows, trying to block them from using a county owned road (not federal property)to get the cattle to fresh grass no its about a couple of dozen cowboys attempt to overthrow the government??? really? $200000 has been paid already, but that pretty much wipes the family finances out. The government will take the ranch for the balance then the goal of the BLM thugs is met.

If they were black or Muslim, I suspect they probably would have called out the National Guard. That’s beside the point. The Hammonds are hoping for presidential clemency. Their attorney has stated that. The people occupying federal property “in their defense” aren’t making that possibility more likely. They’re making it far more difficult, since it would create an appearance that the government has been persuaded by the Bundys’ tactics. That simply can’t be allowed to happen.

The acting U.S. Attorney of the District of Oregon released an official statement concerning the Hammonds and the standoff yesterday, if anyone is interested:

Read: U.S. attorney statement on Oregon standoff

@Greg: latest is they are all going to go home so they live to fight another day

@Greg: http://landrights.org/or/Hammond/FINAL-Decision-Hammond_Redacted.pdf
Who is lying here the US Attorney or the BLM? was there 7 slaughtered deer or 4 injured bucks?
The star witness suffered mental illness and the Judge noted his memories were not reliable but let the prosecution use it anyway.
There was an 11 year time difference between the hunt and the trial.
The whole thing stinks Bucks dont herd during the rut, which is when deer season is. The dominant bucks are breeding and the lesser bucks are hiding from the big boys. You may see 2 dominant bucks sparring, but not herding together in that season. Does may gather to be in the Biggest boys territory, who wants a baby by a wimp?
These men should be on he olympic shooting team to bring down that many deer in 1 hunt and have the time to set major fires too. If you are going to poach wouldn’t ya take at least the backstraps?
Did that hunting guide leave a campfire unattended or hot coals? He didn’t go back for expensive outfitter equipment or did he think they were already ashes? I have reasonable doubt on this one charge of arson. The other charge was admitted to.

The new thread says alot
