Ebola hits the homeland; Is it Obama’s Katrina?

Andrew Malcolm:

A couple of weeks ago, Barack “If You Like Your Health Plan” Obama assured Americans the penetration of the deadly Ebola virus inside the United States was an “unlikely event.”

Now that the first confirmed case is here already, ravaging the feverish body of an unidentified visitor from Liberia quarantined in a Dallas hospital, Obama is, as you’d expect, out of town raising money.

In fact, he’s back in Chicago where he dined out late last night with pals in the trendy River North area. Today, he’ll attend a fundraiser for beleaguered Pat Quinn, the only recent Illinois governor not yet in prison.

And then Obama will try to change the subject of national public discussion once more from his ISIS crisis du jour to — wait for it! — The Economy. Have you noticed whenever the Chicago pol gets in trouble, he rushes to a fundraiser, then pivots to The Economy.

Yes, ladies and gentlemen, Obama is back at that one. What a dim memory he must think we all possess. It’s a clear comment on the depth of Democrats’ autumn fall that their leader’s best campaign issue heading into the Nov. 4 midterms is the worst economic recovery in about seven decades.

Obama says The Economy is going great, if you want to know. In his “60 Minutes” interview broadcast Sunday night the Democrat announced: “The country is definitely better off than we were when I came into office.” Well, he’s better off anyway.

Tell that to the average American family whose median income has dropped, whose members are among the long-term unemployed, and whose healthcare insurance bills are soaring.

Obama will boast in his speech at Northwestern University’s prestigious Kellogg School of Management of reducing the unemployment rate from 10+% to 6.1% and creating 10 million new jobs.

But he’ll leave out the inconvenient facts that the unemployment rate’s down because so many simply gave up looking and most of the new jobs are part-time.

Worse, polls show two-out-of-three Americans believe the country is on the wrong track. They no longer believe their chief executive. And there’s been a hailstorm of crises both abroad (Ukraine, Syria, Iraq, ISIS, Iran) and at home, which combine in the impression of executive inattention, incompetence and lack of control.

Now comes Ebola, which has the real potential to be Obama’s Katrina.

President Bush didn’t cause the hurricane, just as Obama did not cause the worst outbreak yet of the deadly virus in West Africa. The problem was how Bush’s people mis-handled the aftermath, complicated by incompetent, corrupt local governments.

To be fair to poor Obama, the country went into a near free-fall once it was clear he would be elected.
Then, months later, while that free-fall was still occurring, he took office in Jan.
He proposed spending lots of money on ”infrastructure” repair, Congress went along.
BUT, as we saw later he admitted, ”Shovel ready was not as shovel ready as we expected.”
Look at the graphics of the ”recovery.”
All the employment lines come together at the end – whether we spent all that nearly trillion dollars or not.
So Obama, seeing that, simply funneled all that trillion dollars to his bundlers and other buddies for things that were utter failures, like SolYndra.
Still, go back and look at those graphs; we are almost back to where we were before the Obama-caused free fall.

OBAMA made it legal to stay in the USA for 24 months if you were from Liberia without review the very day this Liberian was finally diagnosed with ebola.
Last night I went to bed knowing almost 80 people were under voluntary quarantine because they were exposed to this guy.
This morning I find that number has grown and in over 100.
Some of these people gave ”every indication” that they would not stay in voluntary quarantine!
So, their ”house arrest,” includes paid soldiers around their property.

Think this isn’t going to get ugly?
It is giving every indication that it will, sooner rather than later.

Obola’s spokesidiot Josh Earnest( which means -let’s be sincere) has advised that all Americans should stay calm and should wash their hands frequently. This makes as much sense as keeping your tires properly inflated to help the country reduce the huge amounts of imported oil.

There might be a racist quality to how this man’s family is being treated.
He vomited and had night sweats in that apartment.
Yet the entire family is being forced to stay INSIDE that same apartment!
Until someone in the media brought it to health officials’ attention, the towels and linens had not even been removed from that apartment.
This pretty much insures more people will come down with ebola as a result.
Another thing…..
The man we know is infected also vomited on the street near his apartment.
That bodily fluid sat on the street, highly infectious, until today.
No health officials cleaned it up.
IF you parked near that body fluid, walked through it in your shoes then went home and walked on your own carpet, your ”little rugrats” are at risk!
Today the landlord simply hosed it down the gutter as best he could.

I agree with Ace of Spades who is worried about other people from Ebola outbreak countries deciding to get to US hospitals via travel through other countries, particularly through the southern border where millions of Mexicans living in 3rd world conditions could be exposed and come across as well. The fact that Duncan’s exposed family members had not been quarantined immediately after his diagnosis was made is very concerning. The fact these family members were told to remain in the apartment along with the sheets and other items potentially harboring the virus, rather than taken to a different location is also questionable.

They imported this SOB on purpose to distract from all the imported diseases brought in AND SPREAD around the country by “your government”

Anyone care to speculate how these third worlders with minimum wage jobs or welfare can possibly come up with the airfare – hmmm?

@Pete: Not only have they been in there with all the dirty, germy soft goods, but the landlord simply hosed off the sidewalk where Mr. Duncan vomited.
As the ebola-infested liquid was flowing in the front area a woman in SANDALS walked right through it!
Her home’s floors are now infected unless she knows how to properly disinfect them.
Then there’s the person who brought food to that family.
No special clothing, no gloves as he delivered a plastic bag to someone inside the residence.
Maybe this was all ”inevitable.”
We live in a global community with a president who thinks we should embrace all others, in riches or in poverty, in sickness or in health til death do we part.
As such, the CDC announced it will NOT up our security at airports from passive to active.
