Owned… NOT! The United States was created with the thought that the government would belong to the people, not the other way around. How in the hell do people NOT see that?

It’s easy, Scott.
These are people who want to be owned by the government.
That way, they have no personal responsibility.
For anything.
Personally, I’ll go hungry before I eat the cheese, thirsty before I drink the Kool-Aid.

I’ve talked before about the mindset of our liberal/progressive “friends”. It is a desire to remove responsibility for their lives from themselves. And so they tend to pass that responsibility on to an authority figure. In this case, it’s the federal government.

In so doing, they give up freedoms and liberties, to the government, and force the rest of We, the People, to do so as well.

One might think that it’s because they’ve never grown up, or learned how to deal with life on their own. One might believe that they are so afraid of failure, that by giving up the responsibility over their lives, that they remove blame for the failure of their lives as well.

The truth is that they don’t want to make the decisions necessary for a human to make, in order to live. Thus, they project the decisions over their lives onto government, and remove all responsibility, from themselves, for their lives, as well as removing all chance of failure, or the label of “failure”, from their lives, resulting in an empty life devoid of meaning.

Or, alternatively, it could be that they are just nuts.

Thirteenth Amendment:

Section 1. Neither slavery nor involuntary servitude, except as a punishment for crime whereof the party shall have been duly convicted, shall exist within the United States, or any place subject to their jurisdiction.

Section 2. Congress shall have power to enforce this article by appropriate legislation.[2]

Nope. I don’t see any loophole whereby the Democrats can declare that we “belong to the government.”

@Ditto:

Next thing we’ll hear is that all of the related statements were “taken out of context”.

Next time any of you go to war to protect this type of government—call it a democracy, republic, or whatever y0u like—against a truly totalitarian regime, maybe you’ll feel different about protecting our freedom to be a conservative or liberal.

@liberal1(objectivity): Do you post here just to impress yourself? Just asking, you sure are good at proving yourself to be another Village Idiot.

The nasty understory to this concept is Obama’s DIVIDE & CONQUER tactic.
Only if we belong to the government are we united.
That’s the ONLY thing that ties us together.
Voters, Obama’s supporters, that is, are encouraged to think of themselves, NOT as AMERICANS, but as gays, women, blacks, Hispanics, anything BUT Americans.
The ONLY thing they all can claim unites them is their belonging to the government.

Sick, really sick.
And divisive.

@liberal1(objectivity):

I’ve served. I’ve protected your right to be wrong….oops, I mean liberal. I think that I’ve earned the right, myself, to call you out on it.

Liberal1 you have not a slightest of understanding how dangerous the langauge of, “citizens belong to Government” is nor how tryannical actions can be spawned by it. Our constitution is written with the government belonging to the people (legal citizens) and is not interchangeable with government owning the people. You want to be a slave, go ahead keep cheering on your party as they deem that they own you and what you should culturally be.

And you have no idea that we are at war right now, this is not a state of peace we are in with two still active war fronts and a third possibly opening in Pakistian along with your perfered leader snubbing or has betrayed our standing allies in the middle east for new regimes hostile to the United States to take over creating a motivation in other Allies such as Russia now posturing themselves to make first strike positions on American port cities based on how American Foreign Policy has recently treated its allies aka nuclear attack subs off US coast lines with one recently detected in the Gulf of Mexico.

You are a major idiot.
