Differences Between OWS & Tea Party for The MSM

Two weeks ago, I responded to the mainstream media labeling the Occupy Wall Street protests the left-wing version of the Tea Party. Apparently the reasons given to prove that comparison false were too vague for the media to understand, because they continue to  make that comparison.

So to be helpful to the people in the “fourth estate,” I have created sort of a “difference between the Occupy Wall Street Protests, and the Tea Party Movement” guide for idiots and the Mainstream Media. It follows below:

  • There was never a turd left on a Police Car during a tea party but there was at least one left during an Occupy Wall Street protest.

Occupy Wall Street Protesters also defaced this Police Car:

  • After tea party rallies many people commented about how the protesters left the area cleaner than how they found it. This is what the Occupy Wall Street area looks like:
  • No one at a tea party rally ever defaced the Stars and Stripes; the same can’t be said of the Occupy Wall Street protesters.

  • Tea party protesters never sent an email to politicians suggesting that it was time to kill any group of Americans, but the  Occupy Wall Street protests did.

  • Tea party protesters never made Anti-Semitic statements that “Jews Control the media and Wall Street;” Occupy Wall Street has.

Note to the Mainstream Media: Please do not confuse Occupy Wall Street with Media Matters For America, who have made similar Anti-Semitic statements.

Another couple of significant differences:

1) The Tea Party demography was much older–_resulting in lower levels of testosterone, with more to lose by confronting the police and going to jail.
2) The Tea Party did not ‘occupy’ area for long periods of time—especially without port-o-potties.
3) Because the OWS is a more diverse population than the Tea Party, you’d expect a more diverse set of behaviors–both good and bad.
4) Like early right-wing photography, that tried to isolate photos, in an attempt to show a lack of ethnic people—to falsely demonstrate show the racist complexion of the OWS, as was charged against the Tea Party—similarly, the photos which are publicized by the Right are also selective in their nature.
5) Most of the people in the OWS represent the 20 million people in this country who are unemployed as a result of this country’s economic policy, the millions who have been affected home repossession because of the activity of Wall Street, and disenfranchisement of students and veterans in their attempt to get an education or job; whereas the bulk of the Tea Party were retired or near retirement.

Excuses, excuses.
