The Democrats had a very good night in New Hampshire in November 2012, and swept away, among many others, my congressman. Charlie Bass was nobody’s idea of a rock-ribbed conservative, but he wasn’t an idiot. By contrast, look at Bass’s successor, Democrat Annie Kuster, when asked a question about Benghazi.
First, she has no idea what “Benghazi” is.
Then, pleading in mitigation that she’s there to talk about the Middle East, she reveals that she has no idea where Benghazi is.
Finally, when her constituents helpfully point out that Benghazi is in Libya, she turns to the side and gives that pitiful look that is the single thing I most loathe about American politics – the look a floundering empty suit gives to her minder when she needs him to come and rescue her. Which the minder immediately does.
This reminds me of the Colorado state politician who said that restricting the amount of ammo allowed in a magazine shouldn’t be a problem, because when the shooter uses the ammo in a magazine, it is thrown away, and they have to buy new ones. The new ones will be of the legal size. I’m guessing she was one of their politicians who was gotten rid of recently.
I don’t know if I had ever heard of Benghazi until the attack. I went to a computer map and found it, then looked on the globe to have a better idea where it is on the Earth. I did this just out of curiosity. You would think that anyone who has any decision make authority over it would AUTOMATICALLY find out where it is, and try to find out as much more as they could.
