Contempt for America: “Unfortunately, I am not allowed by the bylaws of my union to go against the Constitution.”

(Washington DC) Project Veritas has released the fourth story in a series of undercover reports which unmask the Deep State. This report features two Internal Revenue Service (IRS) officials who candidly discuss the IRS’s unfair treatment of conservative non-profit groups. The two officials in the report are Thomas Sheehy, an IRS tax examiner and member of the Austin Democratic Socialists of America in Texas, and Jerry Semasek, an IRS attorney in Washington, DC.

The Austin Democratic Socialists of America is a socialist group that works to advance ‘progressive issues’ in Austin, Texas.

Flagrantly Targeting Conservative Groups

Sheehy boasts about and appears to justify former disgraced IRS Commissioner John Koskinen, who was mired in scandal for losing tens of thousands of emails regarding the Lois Lerner controversy. The Lois Lerner controversy occurred in 2013 and involved revelations showing that the IRS unfairly scrutinized conservative groups.

SHEEHY: “John Koskinen. He got a lot of flak for giving increased scrutiny to these Tea Party groups. Conservatives got really mad at him, he was so cool though because he deleted all the emails, so they could not hold any evidence against him.”

Sheehy continues:

SHEEHY: “Yeah, I don’t give a s**t if that is a crime for doing that because… you should give increased scrutiny to those groups because a lot of them are just f***ing fronts for the Koch brothers or whatever.”

Mistakes Were Made

In a separate meeting, attorney Semasek discloses to Project Veritas multiple times that “mistakes were made,” during the 2013 scandal when conservative non-profits were targeted when applying for tax-exempt status.

Oh, no doubt this is all “edited” and “taken out of context”.

The liberal influence needs to be purged from the DOJ and FBI. Then the rest can be cleaned up.

From The Hill, 10/02/18 — IRS pursuing fewer tax evasion cases: report

The IRS is pursuing fewer tax evasion cases than ever before, with its criminal division bringing almost a quarter fewer tax fraud-related crimes since 2010, according to a New York Times report.

The agency has faced numerous budget cuts since 2011, forcing it to reduce its staff by a third, but that is not the sole force behind the reduction in tax evasion cases, the Times reported.

“Due to budget cuts, attrition and a shift in focus, there’s been a collapse in the commitment to take on tax fraud,” Chuck Pine, a former IRS official, told the Times. “I believe there are thousands of individuals who have U.S. tax obligations and are not complying with U.S. tax laws.”

IRS estimates indicate business owners avoid paying $125 billion in taxes each year that they owe, according to the Times.

The agency’s tax audit process has also become less thorough, with IRS officials requesting fewer records and interviews and making fewer criminal referrals.

“The quality of those referrals was also down,” former IRS investigator Marie Allen told the Times. “That is what people popularly think we should be doing, and I’m trying to say it ain’t so.”

Tax fraud was central to the crimes committed by former Trump associates Michael Cohen and Paul Manafort. Cohen last month pled guilty to to eight counts related to bank fraud, tax fraud and campaign finance law violations, while Manafort was convicted on eight charges of bank and tax fraud.

Several sources told the Times they are concerned a decrease in IRS tax evasion cases could empower business owners to evade tax laws.

The IRS is currently facing multiple other challenges, including the implementation of Trump’s tax-cut law, budget constraints and insufficient technology.

What should we have expected? The government has been turned over to the cheats and crooks. We’ve put a con man and a tax cheat in the White House because he promised he’d drain the swamp, and half of the country still hasn’t figured it out.

@Greg: Your post has nothing to do with the subject. Shove your silly rabbit hole.

@Greg: Remember when Obama had the IRS violate their trust and become a political weapon of the Democrats? Illegal actions have consequences. Until those who broke the laws are held accountable and everyone involved is exposed, their budget should be cut.

The most corrupt criminal ever to have run for the office of President lost and sits on the sidelines issuing examples of gross hypocrisy.

Really? I suppose I just assumed that Trump supporters would consider any serious investigative reporting focusing on his lifelong habits of fraud and tax evasion to be part of some Deep State, IRS conspiracy targeting political conservatives. My mistake.

From FOX News, today, October 3: Trump reaped millions in shady tax schemes from father’s business, report says; NY Tax Department ‘reviewing’ allegations

@Greg: I’m sort of surprised the State or City of New York has enough spare money lying around to finance their pursuit of fantasies to try to damage Trump. I guess liberals never mind or hesitate to waste the money of others. After all, THEY have no idea what it takes to earn money.

Not only does this have nothing to do with Kavanaugh, it has nothing to do with reality.

@Greg: I understand they tossed another straw to the pathetic. This thread is about progressive socialists with extreme bias that are buried in the government using their positions to advance an anti constitutional agenda.

Paid time off they are on my dime trying to go against the constitution.
Using their tiny power to undermine our country.

@Deplorable me, #6:

Once the IRS or any state revenue authority stops going after tax cheats and frauds, there will be little revenue to do anything at all, and honest U.S. taxpayers will have the burden of all necessary costs shifted onto their shoulders. The GOP has already seriously harmed every honest U.S. taxpayer by seriously reducing the IRS’s investigation and enforcement budget. This is generally what happens when you put the foxes in charge of the hen house.

Tax cheats are stealing from every honest taxpayer, plain and simple. They’re not stealing from the government.

Trump is a liar and a thief. He hasn’t robbed the government. He has robbed every honest American taxpayer. Some are able to figure this out. Others aren’t, or have reasons for refusing to see.

@Greg:

“Stop”? When will they start? When will they get the taxes owed by Sharpton? Buffett owes a billion in taxes; have they gone after him? How about the “charity” cover for the Clinton Foundation? 10% going to charitable works a charity does not make.

It’s partisan persecution, it wastes money and it always fails. But, all that matters is the ACCUSATION. It’s how the dishonest operate.

Oct. 3, 2018 — Republicans Rigged the System to Enable Crimes Like Trump’s Tax Evasion

Donald Trump’s penchant for telling cruel or unusual lies has been taken as a given for many, many months now. He spouts falsehoods about polls, about voting, about the economy, about himself, and about the women who have accused him of crimes. But the blockbuster New York Times story Tuesday showing how Trump’s family used a variety of legal, semi-legal, and probably outright criminal methods to dodge taxes gave the public valuable insight into a very specific kind of lie Trump and rich people all over have in common. Fred Trump, the president’s father, used a host of methods to transfer money to his children without paying any taxes. That included falsifying the amounts paid to vendors, getting appraisals that undervalued his properties, and buying a $15.5 million stake in one of his son’s properties before selling that stake for $10,000 a few years later.

The Times story, which is long but worth reading in full to get a sense of how brazen these schemes were, proves definitively that Trump is more of a spoiled rich kid than a genius businessman—a phony who lied about how much money he had while getting bailed out over and over again by his father, a genuine empire-builder. (The Times reports that in 1990, Trump also tried to get his 85-year-old father to sign over more control of that empire to him.) But though this sort of behavior is outrageous, it’s been enabled at every turn by a system that caters to the wealthy. That system, not Trump’s individual malfeasance, is what Democrats should focus on as they work to retake Congress this year and the White House in 2020…

May 22, 2017 — Trump’s casino was a money laundering concern shortly after it opened

The man is a liar and a confidence man, and almost certainly a crook. It’s an open secret. It has been for years. What do people not get about this?

@Greg: You and all your liberal idiot buddies are unhinged. I saw Mayor Big Bird on television crowing about going after tax evaders. Why hasn’t he gone after Sharpton for the local taxes he owes? Oh, that’s right… for liberals, the apparatus of the government serves the liberal agenda.

This is why there should, ideally, be NO liberals in government anywhere. They are criminals.

From CNN, October 3, 2018 — A financial disclosure from Donald Trump’s sister led to The New York Times report on his taxes

President Donald Trump’s older sister, Judge Maryanne Trump Barry, has kept a very low profile since he ran for office. But it appears as though she inadvertently had a central role in The New York Times blockbuster report on her brother’s alleged tax schemes.

According to the Times, one of their key findings was a financial disclosure form from Barry’s Senate confirmation proceedings in 1999 to be a federal appellate judge. This financial form was not redacted, and Times reporter Susanne Craig, one of the three reporters who broke the story, noticed an oddity in the filing — a $1 million contribution from a Trump family-owned company called All County Building Supply & Maintenance.

Craig, along with reporters David Barstow and Russ Buettner, began to investigate the company. People familiar with family patriarch Fred Trump told them that All County was a “middleman entity created by President Trump and his siblings essentially to move cash from Fred Trump’s companies to his children,” the Times said.

After the company purchased items for Trump buildings such as cleaning supplies, the Times notes that a secretary would bill these “items to Fred Trump’s buildings with a 20% to 50% markup,” and the siblings would “pocket the difference.” The siblings received millions in untaxed gifts from their father, skirting a 55% tax on gifts over a certain value that would have cut the total significantly, the Times reported.

According to Tuesday’s report by the Times, the President helped “his parents dodge taxes” in the 1990s, including “instances of outright fraud” that allowed him to amass a fortune from them. The President and his siblings helped his parents build their wealth by hiding millions of dollars in gifts in a “sham corporation,” according to the Times…

There’s a reason why Trump hates and condemns the media. They pull back the curtain and show the people what’s behind it.

@Greg: 20 to 50 % isnt a huge mark up do you know how much jewelry is marked up or furniture? Didnt the Clintons donate to their own foundation for shady a tax dodge? Notice there is no Russians in this 15K word story not one reference to Putin or the oligarchs that funneled cash to the Clintons for U.S strategic assets such as uranium.
Fred may have made his kids rich and trained them in the art of gaining wealth and using the US tax code to avoid the government from confiscating all of it.
WE DONT CARE WE CHEER THEM ON its old news recycled as a distraction, and held out as a carrot to the desperate, like you.
Going back as far as HS isnt good enough they go back to when lil Donny was a genius toddler making shady deals with mobsters lol.

11 Takeaways From The Times’s Investigation Into Trump’s Wealth

The man should be a convicted felon, not president. There’s a bottom-line takeaway. Somebody should leak all of his tax returns. They’d deserve a medal for performing a public service.

Is Donald Trump’s Downfall Hidden in His Tax Returns?

There are several horses currently in the race to the downfall finish line. Obstruction is currently in the lead, followed closely by Collusion, but Massive Tax Fraud could be maneuvering for a position from which to overtake them both.

It’s odd that Massive Tax Fraud has so far gone unreported by the right wing media. The New York Times broke a very big story on the subject.

@Greg:

The man should be a convicted felon, not president.

But he’s NOT a felon and he IS President. So, once again, your wishes do NOT come true.

There are several horses currently in the race to the downfall finish line. Obstruction is currently in the lead, followed closely by Collusion, but Massive Tax Fraud could be maneuvering for a position from which to overtake them both.

You should shit in one hand and hope in the other and see which one fills up faster.

All we’ve got to do is pry loose his tax returns—just remind people every day that he promised on multiple occasions to release them, but hasn’t released diddly squat.

Everybody knew the claim that years of particular interest were still under audit was a lie. His own idiot attorneys inadvertently provided evidence of that.
