Attempting to offer a defense of Ed Schultz, CNN’s Randi Kaye told guest Howard Kurtz Thursday that “there are mixed interpretations” of the term “slut,” which Schultz called conservative talk show host Laura Ingraham Thursday. Kaye also referred to Laura Ingraham’s response to Schultz as “biting,” proving that she possibly was harder on Ingraham than on tyrant Sadaam Hussein back in 2006.
“Yeah, but you know when you hear the word ‘slut’ – I mean I hate to even say it on our air, to be honest with you – but there are mixed interpretations about the word,” Kaye told Kurtz. The media critic didn’t buy it for a second.
Slightly taken aback by Kaye’s bizarre statement, Kurtz called the word “clearly a sexually-derogatory term,” when used in the context Schultz did, and added that “he realizes what he did.”
“I think [Schultz] was lucky to get away with just being off the air for one week,” Kurtz remarked. “A lot of broadcasters might have lost their jobs by saying something so stupid, offensive, and misogynistic.”
Kurtz added that “this is not the first time that Ed Schultz has talked his way into trouble.” Indeed, it is not. Kurtz referred to when Schultz called New Jersey governor Chris Christie a “fat slob” and when he repeatedly labeled Rush Limbaugh “the Drugster,” an obvious reference to Limbaugh’s drug abuse in the past.
So, let me see… Randi is trying to “dance around” the word ‘Slut’ and ‘try’ to tell US there is another meaning or another context in which the word ‘Slut” can be used? What world did she grow up in again?? I think I missed that? The ‘SPIN’ from the left is ceaseless…never mind stunning…
It is not inherent in Conservatives to stoop to the level of [attacking people personally] with such vulgar name calling, Rhetoric, and Vitriol. Conservatives will almost always attack ‘no common sense’ and Liberals ‘for their [Policies]’ that hurt America… However I do feel the need for conservatives to dig their heels in and get more aggressive in debate [call people out] over stupid liberal policies that are hurting our Country … Americans need to wake up!
What’s even more stunning is that after the shooting in Tuscon Arizona [The Right] was demonized to the hilt… without even a shred of evidence… the shooter [must be] a [right wing nut job]. Our Obumbles told the American people under no uncertain terms we need to [cease and desist] with the [Tone] of speech – [The Rhetoric] [the vitirol]. Through [insinuation] Obumble’s own [Tone] was geared toward none other then [those] [right wing conservatives and RW Extremists].
It reminds me of a stalker who, while obviously guilty of stalking, tries to turn the tables and make everyone [think] that it is the person [being stalked] who is really the stalker… so the suspicion is put on the [ person being stalked] rather than the real culprit [The ‘real’ stalker]… The only problem with this scenario is that …. sooner or later the truth comes out and [the real stalker] gets [caught]…. In other words the Liberals try to turn the tables so that it appears the Conservatives/Right Wingers are the ones with a Policy/Vitriol/Hate/Tone/Racial/Rhetoric problem…Which is utterly UNTRUE…

It isn’t the fact that he used the word, Ms. Bees. I, personally, have no problem with someone using words that they mean, no matter what they are. The problem is, that the left has gone into apologist mode, not for the use of the word, but for the idea that the word isn’t as derogatory as it really is. The left wishes to minimize the impact of the word, in this case negative, by claiming the word is something that it isn’t.
This is a common method of the left to deflect criticism of their views, onto their critics. Rep. Clyburn with his statements most recently is another example of this method. He essentially called anyone who criticizes Obama a racist, then deflected the criticism of his statements onto his critics.
Words matter. The meanings and definitions of words matter. And no amount of obfuscation about the words one uses changes that. The left shows that they are the real racists. The real sexists. The real discriminators. And they do so, by the words they use, as is seen in this instance.

I have never used the word slut and I doubt if I ever will. Emotional argument is a Liberal trait. When they run out of meaningful debate, they resort to name calling, it usually doesn’t take very long.

Reminds me of the backflips the NOW gang had in defending Clinton after all the inroads they had made in turning every corporation into an open discussion and training on sexual harrassment in the workplace. They had crucified Clarence Thomas and were flying high when Clinton took advantage of one of the lowest employees in regard to power one could find from the President of the USA. It must really be hard defending these things for anyone with a shred of conviction and ounce of pride.

Bees, you can stir up the water. I don’t think people call each other slot machines, but it would be more polite. In English slut has been a word that was never used, but why did it exist? I don’t know why I am asking you, maybe because you make me laugh.
Never have I used this foul word. Never. Its not in my vocabulary. Never will be. If I hear the word I walk away from the conversation. The demeaning of women is disgraceful, Ed Shultz didn’t get the memo on that one. I thought libralism was supposed to protect women from this ridiculous macho man language, really its no different than racism. Where is the outcry?
Most of the guys I’ve known who use this type of demeaning speech have zero luck with females. Because they are insecure with women, they choose go on and on in conversation about how bad all women are, never stopping to think that they are the problem. I can’t listen to those whiners. Most of my old girlfriends that I still talk to and am friends with. I still take some of them out on occasion. Only two out of twenty two ex’s don’t speak to me(the first two). I am not married, though I do have had a lot of experience dating. I’m on the lookout.

CNN is bereft of all morals and ethics. Lemon and others have a right to be what they want, but they shouldn’t act above it all.
A friend is writing a tell all about his career in journalism. He has many stories about how some got their jobs. It ain’t pretty. Some of the same women who espouse feminist beliefs on air got their jobs the old fashioned way. Yup, sucking up to and just plain sucking on male managers.
Should be fun times once the boo comes out.

Some people say that he quit being a conservative when he decided that he wanted others to spend the time and money needed to take care of his ailing mother. But then again, we all know how little the NFL and entertainment industry pays their over worked part time employees…
