Don’t expect too much
DON LEMON: But, Jake, he is the African-American president. He’s an African-American president. He’s a president of all people but, again, he has a responsibility as president to help everyone but he is a black man.
And as I said, he understands the issues that we as African-Americans face more than any other president that we have had. You know, we used to call Bill Clinton the first black president, but I mean, in reality, we know that — we know that was just sort of fun.
But, yes, I think he has more of a freedom. And his — listen, in his first term he didn’t do that much about, you know, gay rights, about gay marriage, whatever, and it started happening in the second term. I said in the beginning that that issue would be a second term issue.
He had to prove himself in the beginning. He had probably more criticism than most presidents because when you are the first of anything, there is a bigger responsibility put on you. He’s a spectacle in a way.
Everyone is being looking to hit him and everyone is looking to punch him, and I understand that, and as a journalist you weigh how much you should criticize the president, because he’s black, what have you, but then you have to do it because ultimately you’re a journalist. Journalists have to, black people have to, white people, Hispanic. We all must hold him to this because, as he said, it is an issue for the country, not just for one demographic.

Sick of this media. They protect The One at every turn. For awhile the MSM just did not report stories that showed Obama in a negative light…now they are actually blocking and tackling for him.
I accuse ABC, NBC, CBS, CNN, PBS and NPR of being propaganda agents for this administration. Comcast’s Brian Robert’s MSNBC is nothing but a White House mouthpiece. Not even a pretense of objectivity. Let’s see if Obama’s “Justice” department lets Roberts’ merger go through.
Also NPR. It has become unlistenable. Turn it on at the top of any hour and catch the “news”. Every story is part of the leftwing agenda. Every story has a purpose in moving the progressive narrative, and we pay for this with our tax dollars.
This fall’s election will tell the story. If the American people have truly had enough of Obama and his propaganda machine the Senate will fall to the Republicans…then, let the investigations begin. We’ll soon see how much longer the MSM can ignore real news.
Perpetrators…
Why are these people not as ‘Color Blind’ as they want everyone else out in the world to be?
“he understands the issues that we as African-Americans face”
I hear this a lot from the likes of the Don Lemon’s and it’s usually in the forefront of a talking point… it is usually ambiguous in nature….and, it’s an open statement and everyone is suppose to automatically “read into” it….and of course do so in a negative light…
Then I have to wonder, after fifty years of every kind of (democrat/now liberal) “program” you can imagine has been ‘created’ and geared toward “uplifting” and “promoting” the “positive advancement” of the black community….to this day we still hear talk about ‘issues’ that African-Americans have, and that only, “ONLY” privileged Obama understands them????
I hear a lot (of common sense) coming from ‘Good Reverends’ who lead black communities and their take on the ‘issues’ African Americans have are at least ‘put out there’ in plain sight but who is paying attention to them?
Inclusive of Allen West, Herman Cain, Clarence Thomas, Thomas Sowell, Dr Ben Carson and many other POSITIVE and common sense Black voices out there…
Just curious…
“in his first term he didn’t do that much about, you know, gay rights, about gay marriage, ” No, not until his agenda alienated enough people that he needed the support of the gay community. Then, he changed his position (“evolved”) on gay marriage and embraced it. But, now some of the black community wants Holder’s head on a pike.
Why does the media protect the inept, incompetent, and narcissistic brat? That’s an easy one. The alphabet networks fear severe reprisals if the real truth were told about the child emperor wannabe.
