In The One’s defense, he hasn’t called anyone a terrorist. When it comes to incendiary, divisive accusations, he prefers the comparative subtlety and elegance of questioning his opponents’ patriotism.
“As someone who’s been called a socialist, not born here, taking away freedoms for providing health care, I’m all for lowering the rhetoric,” Obama said [to the heckler, tea partier Ryan Rhodes]…
In an interview later with Fox News, Rhodes claimed that the President insisted that Biden had not made the original comment.
“He just denied it, he said the Vice President didn’t make any of those assertions,” said Rhodes. “He doesn’t want to even admit what was on TV nationally — all over the place — then how can you have a conversation?”
Rhodes added that Obama brushed him aside. “Then he said ‘we can’t have a conversation because you’re saying I called you a terrorist,’” recalled Rhodes. “The fact is it demonstrates the deep divide that he is unwilling to negotiate without going after the other side, the whole day was about going after republicans and talking about how unreasonable they are.”
He’s not kidding about that. The “country first” talking point was a recurring theme all day; here’s another clip of him launching into it at yet another town hall. Obama might have been able to appease this guy by at least acknowledging that there’s plenty of “tea-party terrorist” bilge coming from liberals in the media if not Congress, but there’s really no point in that. As we get closer to the election, Democrats will wield that talking point more and more brazenly in an any-weapon-to-hand approach to victory.
When the liberal/progressives start being ‘civil’, then maybe I can listen to what else they say. Until then, everything they say is tainted.
J.G. You’re an honest guy specially for a swabbie and a Wolverine. Can you honestly say the far right,look at what they call the POTUS, is any more civil than the far left? Both extremes sicken me.
Notice you don’t like Perry or Romney. Sarah? Will she run?
Semper Fi
Yet not one word from either Biden or Obama about the Ramadan kidnapping of an American in Pakistan.
What are the odds we will ever see Mr. Weinstein alive?
I mean, it is the Islamist terrorist’s trifecta.
He is an American.
It is Ramadan.
He is a Jew.
By the way, according to The Telegraph, [UK] Mr. Weinstein’s work was supervising a four-year $11 million “competitiveness project”, funded by the American government, which was involved in dairy, horticulture, furniture, and medical equipment projects.
It is day 14 of Ramadan.
There have been 75 terror attacks, killing 272 people.
All those deaths have been caused by Muslims.
None were caused by either people of another religion OR anti-Muslim Right Wingers.
Huh!
@rich wheeler:
But Rich, we aren’t talking about an “extreme” group when we are discussing the TEA Party. The left, ALL OF THE LEFT, demonizes anyone to the right of them as being extreme, or the far right, kinda like you just did.
Tell me how a group that proposes smaller government and a return to Constitutional limitations on government is extreme.
And no, I don’t like Perry or Romney. Both seem to me to be establishment GOP types who would sell out the conservatives just to keep people liking them. And I hope that Sarah Palin does decide to run. To me, she is the conservative that America needs right now. As long as she can get by the MSM’s and the Democrats lies about her, which I admit, will be quite the challenge.
J.G. i am really tired of the right blaming the MSM for all their media woes. They really should get some cajones.Politics is a rough game and Sarah should study up if she wants to be POTUS.She truly has enough deficiencies before any lies are told about her. I believe she is unelectable.
@rich wheeler:
Personally, Rich, I don’t care what you are tired of. That you cannot admit to the fact that the MSM is, and has been, in the pocket of the Democrats for decades doesn’t bother me anymore. It’s expected from liberals. And, “blaming” the MSM isn’t an “excuse”, nor is it a “cop-out”. It’s a fact that conservatives deal with on a daily basis. For what it’s worth, IMO, if the MSM had done their job correctly, and vetted Obama, we would have either Hillary or McCain as President.
As for Sarah Palin, we will see what happens.
@Nan G: Thanks for providing more evidence that Islam is a destructive religion of pieces — body parts, buildings, vehicles, civilization.
