Doug Powers:
While it’s true that Chris Christie is the Republican with the highest favorability rating in the party, I should mention that the party I’m talking about is the Democratic Party. Watch out, Hillary:
(CNSNews.com) – According to a newly released Gallup poll, New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie is the most-favored Republican and Texas Sen. Ted Cruz is the least-favored–among Democratic respondents.
The poll sought to measure the favorable/unfavorable sentiments toward five Republicans Gallup believes may run for president in 2016.
Conducted June 1-4. the survey asked: [P]lease say if you have a favorable or unfavorable opinion of these people–or if you have never heard of them.” It then listed New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie, Florida Sen. Marco Rubio, Wisconsin Congressman Paul Ryan, Texas Senator Ted Cruz, and Kentucky Senator Rand Paul.
Speaking of Republicans with favorabiulity:
Attack on Gomez’s Business Career by Democrats Backfires
Democrat Justin Barasky added “As Gomez’s record of helping send jobs to China is revealed…it’s clear he is on the wrong side of Massachusetts and would support extreme, right-wing Republican policies in Washington.”
Gomez was not a partner of the Advent International he was an employee. The Globe offered little proof that Synventive jobs went to China: “In March 2009, 18 laid-off Synventive workers, many over age 50, were offered government aid to retrain, specifically because their jobs were being moved overseas, according to the Department of Labor.” However, according to Gomez “There weren’t jobs moved overseas. The biggest producers in the automotive industry back then were over in Asia.”
Rather than moving American jobs overseas, Obama, Democrats and their RINO friends, (with five years of high unemployment that per capita rivals the Great Depression,) seem to think that it is better to welcome illegal immigrants with open arms so that American jobs can be lost to foreign nationals at home.
@Ditto:
The largest chunk of those “American jobs” that “foreign nationals” are filling are ones Americans won’t have.
I was down in New Orleans right after Katrina, doing tank inspections at the oil storage facilities along the Mississippi. Every morning on the way to work, we passed hundreds of blacks sitting on the curbs, watching traffic. Near-by were businesses with help-wanted signs in their windows – McDonald’s’ was offering $10-$12/hr plus signing bonuses. Were the locals taking the work? NO. Were they doing the clean-up? NO. Mexicans were bussing in by the thousands, and THEY did the work. The DIRTY work. If it were left to “American” workers, that city would still be screwed, and everyone bankrupt because of how much money it would have taken to bribe “Americans” to pick up trash. Be careful what you wish for.
George.. tie getting a WELFARE CHECK to HAVING to perform PUBLIC SERVICE work.. problem solved!
@Henkster58:
I would love to say that exactly that kind of program was what got us out of the Depression, but in truth it was really WWII that did the trick. But of course what you suggest would still be a HUGE step in the right direction.
Thanks, I do not profess to have all the answers.. But I do know a GOOD IDEA when I see it. It’s FAR PAST TIME.. that we started teaching PERSONAL RESPONSIBILITY again!!
As to being like the DEPRESSION work programs.. Not quite.. those were created, to create jobs to keep people afloat… it was ADDITIONAL SPENDING…..
THIS would be simply.. GETTING VALUE, for money we ALREADY PART WITH!!!
( that will make the Libs cry and scream! LOL! )
