White House press secretary Jay Carney first says Republicans “forced” President Obama to deny the permit for the Keystone XL pipeline. Later in his press briefing, Carney says Obama didn’t turn down the pipeline.

“In terms of Keystone, as you all know, the history here is pretty clear. And the fact is because Republicans decided to play political with Keystone, their action essentially forced the administration to deny the permit process because they insisted on a time frame in which it was impossible to completely approve the pipeline,” Carney said when asked about the pipeline by ABC News’ Jake Tapper.

Later in the briefing, Carney says it is the Republicans’ fault.

Jake Tapper: “How can you say that you have an all the above on approach if the President turned down the Keystone pipeline? And you blame the Republicans for making it political.”

This actually takes John F. Kerry’s, “I was for the $87 billion before I was against it,” to a whole new level!

well, in carneys defense, he lost his dignity a long time ago and he’s a souless little gollem so,

being an utter total shill laughingstock propagandist is all he’s got left, so why be ashamed of that, instead revel in it.

baghdad bob the first one and saddams henchman is getting a run for his money.

Oh for the good old days of truth and wisdom from Baghdad Bob.

@Buffalobob:

At least with Baghdad Bob, those in this country who believed his tall tales were in a very small, very distinct minority.

I really wonder how someone like Carney or Gibbs can sleep at night. They must have all of Obama’s actions going through their mind and they keep trying to find a way to make him look good!

It’s really hard to fall in the manure pile and come out smelling like a rose. You can do it over television if people are naive or stupid, but even Obama fans will begin to catch on eventually.

@Skookum: I wish you were right Skook. Iam afraid there are too many zombies voting for Obama. Look at some of their post here at FA.

It’s true, Obama didn’t turn down the Keystone Pipeline project. Originally, he wanted to postpone a decision to study the ramifications. The Republicans pressed him—and continue to so—for a decision right now. Keep a better eye on these issues.

“If you tell a lie big enough and keep repeating it, people will eventually come to believe it. The lie can be maintained only for such time as the State can shield the people from the political, economic and/or military consequences of the lie. It thus becomes vitally important for the State to use all of its powers to repress dissent, for the truth is the mortal enemy of the lie, and thus by extension, the truth is the greatest enemy of the State.”
~ Joseph Goebbels, Reich Minister of Propaganda

@rumcrook:
I witnessed this last night. Penn and Teller have a show where they like to puncture PC beliefs. One was that organic produce was better for you, tasted better, was pesticide free, and better for the environment. It was none of the above.

Turns out even the people who eat only “organically grown” food couldn’t tell the difference. In fact, they fooled everyone by cutting a bananna in half, and told people one half was organic and the other was not. The people who ate the phony organic half swore it tasted better, cleaner, etc. Thanks to decades of leftist propaganda people have bought into the lie. While it doesn’t always work (see global warming), it can definitely have an impact on enough people to give the left the power, money, and control they obssess over.
