CAIR is demanding that changes be made at the new 9/11 museum in New York. They want references to “jihadism” and “Islamic extremism” removed so no one will know that 9/11 was perpetrated by jihadists and Islamic extremists.
(CNSNews.com) – Days before the National September 11 Memorial Museum opens in New York, the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) is stepping up its campaign to urge organizers to edit a video presentation on al-Qaeda, to remove terms such as “Islamist extremism” and “jihadism.”
An earlier CAIR initiative – a letter last month co-signed by several other Muslim and Arab-American organizations, complaining to museum directors about what they called “academically controversial terminology” – met with no success.
On Monday CAIR’s New York chapter began asking “all Americans” to lobby national and New York leaders on the issue.
A “click and send” letter made available by the chapter calls for the short video entitled “The Rise of Al-Qaeda” to be edited to remove “anti-Islamic terminology,” before the museum opens to the public next Wednesday.
The appeal is addressed to President Obama, Vice President Joe Biden, New York Senators Kirsten Gillibrand and Charles Schumer, Mayor Bill de Blasio, and City Councilwoman Margaret Chin, who represents lower Manhattan.
CAIR said in a statement that the use in the video of terms like “Islamist extremism” and “jihadism” – and the “generalizing” way in which they are used – “conflate Islam and terrorism and carry the risk of misinforming museum visitors, particularly those unfamiliar with Islam.”
“After repeated requests to correct misrepresentations, the film ignorantly implies a religion, rather than a group of criminals, was to blame for the September 11 attacks,” said CAIR-NY board member Zead Ramadan. “Instead of unifying all Americans against evil-doers, this film continues to offensively cast suspicion on faith rather address the terrorist act.”

Real trouble awaits the 9/11 Museum. If CAIR is not able to expunge all the references to Islam, direct action will be necessary. This is who they are. This is what they do. Terrorism is a tool, implemented by jihadists wearing suicide vests and driving car bombs.
The truth is that militant Islam was at the heart of the 9/11 attacks. Destroying the capitalist system will lead to the exultant victory of Islam, as the world comes under control if the Imams. You better believe that.
And liberal bleeding hearts will soon demand that the source of terrorism be concealed. That would only be politically correct, after all!
Yet not one mention on CAIRs web site about the kidnapped Nigerian girls or denouncing Boko Haram
CAIR is a taqiyah organization for islam. They are never to be trusted and always to be opposed.
Muslims did this. Jihad is the violent spread of islam, as the history of this barbaric ideology shows. Never forget.
And the result? The 9/11 museum officials stand firm in their decision to air a documentary on Al-Qaeda without censorship of Islam-related language.
“The Rise of Al-Qaeda,” portrays the 9/11 hijackers as “Islamists” who viewed their mission as a “deadly jihad.”
It quotes one of the hijackers: “[M]any thanks to Allah for his kind gesture and choosing us to perform the act of jihad for his cause and to defend Islam and Muslims.”
This is a Museum, not a PC revisionist college class.
The idea that ALL Muslims are violent is NOT in the film.
But in Islam, all Muslims MUST contribute toward holy warriors in their various jihads. It is one of the required areas where their charitable monies (Zakat) must go.
I noted these CAIR apologists wanted to show Muslims ”mourning” over the 9-11 attacks.
Problem is, the videos of Muslims celebrating are etched on people’s minds.
Those few photo op shots of one or two mourning are pretty rare.
Let’s compromise. Edit out “extremism”
Hey NY, grow a pair and tell CAIR tostuff it. Why would we want to kowtow to enablers of fanatical haters.
Now if “peaceful Islamist” want to include a recorded video or message from a prominent Muslim leader speaking out soundly against the fanatics who pursue terrorist as being incompatible with and an insult to “Peaceful” Islamic worshippers, THAT would have my support. but trying a denial campaign to cover up the facts that motivated the terrorists, is an aberrant and insensitive disservice to their victims and a lie to history.
@Ditto: Oh come on now — are you still falling for Boosch’s “Islam is a religion of peace” BULLSH-T? That will eventually go down in history as the greatest lie ever told!
@Budvarakbar:
Am I falling for it? Not really, just playing poker and calling their bluff. What I’m saying is that if they want to keep pretending it is, then one of the religion’s leaders should have the balls to put his money where his mouth is and go on public record formerly renouncing and divorcing themselves and their followers from terrorists. You and I both know full well that no Muslim leader is ever going put their butt on the line to once and for all issue a fatwah, condemning the actions of their fanatic, murderous brethren. Allow that message or none. As no Islamic leader is going paint themselves as a target of their religion’s radical murderers, it’s not going to happen. That “gives them a voice” without giving them a voice. Got it?
@Ditto: I actually realized what you were getting at – it is just such an extreme disappointment to me that this country has gone so far downhill from when I was in grade school and we were told – and CLEARLY UNDERSTOOD by the overwhelming evidence of history — that islam was “THE RELIGION OF THE SWORD” — my God how can the “Western People” be so dam STOOPID?
“Religion of Peace” — Actually a Cult of slavery with the peace being that of the grave.
@Budvarakbar:
The secular/atheist left would of course counter with the portions of the bloody history of Christianity and Judaism. The point they always miss is the part of it being history. Since the renaissance period, both religions have eschewed religious war and even Muslims calmed down and limited their fights to inter-tribal disputs. Islam however has in the last 70-80 years escalated it’s religious war to nearly as great a level as when the new religion first ravaged the Middle East with a rabid “convert or die” mantra.
I have no illusions whatsoever about the teachings of Islam. I’ve read the Koran cover to cover twice. It has a rather schizophrenic message to it’s followers, calling both for fellowship with the “brothers of the book” (i.e. the Old Testament or Torah) in some paragraphs, yet including them as infidels to be destroyed in many other chapters. The one thing it is consistent about, is that it calls for the outright extermination or forced conversion of all others who do not follow “the book”. Anyone who has read the Koran and understood it’s clear “holy warriors” message must in honesty discard the notion of it being a “religion of peace,” unless and until there should come a time where it’s religious leaders declare a Fatwah against the barbarism of Jihad. Could that it happen? Certainly it’s remotely “possible”, Muslims have set aside campaigns of Jihad and bloody expansionism in the past. Do I see it happening? Not for a very long time (if at all), as the fanatic extremists are currently in control of much of Islam, and they have again embarked on a campaign of expansion to all nations and have taken up the sword against all people. The secular/atheist far-left are useful idiots to support the Islamic fanatics, and would be exterminated immediately once those barbarians take over.
