Newly released emails on the Benghazi terror attack suggest a senior White House aide played a central role in preparing former U.N. ambassador Susan Rice for her controversial Sunday show appearances — where she wrongly blamed protests over an Internet video.
More than 100 pages of documents were released to the conservative watchdog group Judicial Watch as part of a Freedom of Information Act lawsuit. Among them was a Sept. 14, 2012, email from Ben Rhodes, an assistant to the president and deputy national security adviser for strategic communications.
The Rhodes email, with the subject line: “RE: PREP Call with Susan: Saturday at 4:00 pm ET,” was sent to a dozen members of the administration’s inner circle, including key members of the White House communications team such as Press Secretary Jay Carney.
In the email, Rhodes specifically draws attention to the anti-Islam Internet video, without distinguishing whether the Benghazi attack was different from protests elsewhere.
The email lists the following two goals, among others:
“To underscore that these protests are rooted in an Internet video, and not a broader failure of policy.”
“To reinforce the President and Administration’s strength and steadiness in dealing with difficult challenges.”
The email goes on to state that the U.S. government rejected the message of the Internet video. “We find it disgusting and reprehensible. But there is absolutely no justification at all for responding to this movie with violence,” the email stated.

It’s like UFOs. A story appears…the press giggles…and the story disappears as the witnesses are made out to be fools. ABCBSNBCNNPR are not going to broadcast anything that might put the White House in a bad light. This information is headed for the Fox Box.
And that’s where we are. The media is in the tank, and the low information voter only wants to watch American Idol…or whatever they are watching this year. Sad.
But wait….I thought there was nothing to this “bogus” scandal….
This reminds me of a cavalry squadron commander I once served under, who when driving by the tanks in his motor pool that had oil leaks, was more concerned about “why isn’t there dry sweep on those leaks?” rather than “why are those tanks leaking oil?”
Thankfully, this poor excuse for a commander was relieved before we were deployed to Desert Shield/Storm, with a real commander who concerned himself with what actually mattered, rather than the political optics of the situation.
Would that we could relieve the current poor excuse for a commander with someone actually capable of doing what was right for the country…..

Here are the actual documents. Page 14 clearly states emphasizing the video as the cause. The “to” block in the email clearly shows it went to top WH officials. Given that the left sees things that aren’t there and doesn’t see things that are, they will deny everything.

Tbe release of that email from Rhodes (sp?) should be all the proof anyone needs to never ever EVER let a democrat be elected president again. It proves that the left knows it is lying AND DOES NOT CARE because truth is irrelevant to their march to dystopia.
If I was in charge, this would lead to charges of treason for Rhodes, Clinton and Obama, and if convicted, appropriate punishment. This was an egregious, politically manipulative lie that was done -as the email shows- to make the bogus video the scapegoat for the policy failure of this extreme left administration. To add to tbe insult, Obama went to a Vegas fundraiser tbe next morning with no concern whatsoever for tbe murder of the US Ambassador and three other Americans by muslim terrorists.
