And there it is: Nancy Pelosi just all but admitted that impeachment has *everything* to do with politics and the presidential race

As Twitchy told you, Nancy Pelosi announced the impeachment managers for the upcoming Senate trial. When she made the announcement, she declared that Donald Trump “has been impeached forever. They can never erase that.”

The media love that line, naturally:

But that’s not even the stupidest aspect of Pelosi’s remarks. See, it was only last night that Pelosi’s deputy chief of staff Drew Hammill insisted that House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy’s contention that Pelosi has been playing politics with the articles of impeachment was a bunch of BS:

If it has nothing to with politics or the presidential race, why is Nancy Pelosi out there reminding everyone that Donald Trump has already been impeached forever? Call us crazy, but that sounds pretty political.

But that couldn’t possibly be the case, could it?

Schiff is named manager, its only right since he created the imaginary monster that he should manage it. He has added new “evidence” to the file a note he wrote on note paper fed-exed from Vienna, He may or may not want to call Greta Thunberg as Mad Max got a call from her and her dad, Trump made Gretta cry!

Of course it has to do with the election. Did anyone think for a moment that it didn’t? It should have to do with the election as much as it has to do with removing him from office by trial.

This doesn’t mean that anything about the process is in any way contrived. Trump has done things that fully justify his removal. If he obstructs Congress, which he obviously has done and continues to do, that’s one more reason.

Of course Nancy admits impeachment was about nothing but politics; that’s what all her followers wanted. They wanted Trump removed because he beat Hillary. They’ve been salivating for it since he was elected and they’ve all voiced their desire for it, with or without any impeachable offense. Pelosi pronounced publicly they’ve been working on this since November of 2016 even though their “crimes” allegedly occurred in July of 2019. Anyone that supports this embarrassing travesty of justice obviously has NO respect for our Constitution.

@kitt: I hope Schiff can and will be called for testimony. He has much to reveal and getting him under oath MIGHT cause him to finally tell the truth. Of course, he might just evaporate like a vampire exposed to sunlight or his “evidence” against Trump when the Mueller report was released.

@Greg: It has to do with trying to tarnish Trump with impeachment to affect the 2020 election (they never had any hopes Trump would actually be removed without any evidence of a crime). Instead, you’ve grown his support and popularity while destroying any residual credibility the Democrats may have held in reserve since the Obama administration. The American people have seen through this farce and what its true intent was. If this was some existential matter, desperate for the nation to resolve, why did Nancy just hold them for a month?

The man has tarnished himself. As of May 2019 there were around 30 pending investigations involving Donald Trump and his activities. The investigations began long before he entered politics, so it can’t be honestly claimed that they’re all politically motivated.

This guy is no straight-arrow. He never has been. He has always conducted himself in this fashion in all areas of life. The greater his power, the greater and wider his opportunities to do so. That’s really the only thing that has changed. He has always relied on money, lawyers, and pay-offs to protect himself from the serious consequences that would caught up with most people long before now. Now the powers of the presidency have been added to his tool kit, including control of the DoJ and lawyers provided at taxpayer expense. He has become Swamp Master, and has successfully redefined all persons and organizations that would criticize or oppose him as the enemies of America.

@Greg:

The Countrys business still gets done in spite of the resistance.
Vive la République!

@Greg: No, the Democrats have created the fantasy where Trump is somehow tarnished because he compels Democrats to invent lies about him and his actions. Democrats are under investigation, too… LOTS of them. Does that automatically confirm they are all guilty? Democrats prove they will investigate at the drop of a hat, usually in lieu of being able to accomplish anything substantive to aid the American citizen. Their “investigations” don’t impress me in the least. In fact, Democrats have lied so much and abused the legal system and Constitution to the point that NOTHING can be assumed and all must be proven beyond a doubt.

That has not been accomplished in Nancy’s impeachment. Not by a long, long shot.

I would like for you to provide the assertion that Trump was a “straight arrow”. One thing is for absolute certain, and you can thank your endless investigations for it. Trump is absolutely and positively, proven beyond any possible doubt, innocent of any crimes any where, any time.

@Greg:

The investigations began long before he entered politics, so it can’t be honestly claimed that they’re all politically motivated.

Moot point. The president cannot be impeached for anything that happened prior to his taking the oath of office.

This guy is no straight-arrow.

Odd, you never admitted that when Obama was president and was violating every thing that is holy when it comes to the Office of the Presidency. But then, I guess you think your double standards goes unnoticed by the rest of us. They don’t.

And now, according to Nancy Pelosi and her gang of thugs, a President seeking a legal remedy to an issue is “an abuse of Congress.”

No wonder Trump is gaining voters who have traditionally voted Democrat.

Oddly, the Democrats in control then didn’t hold Obama to account. Not when he ran guns to Mexican cartels, not when he used the IRS to attack political opponents, not when he lied about Obamacare, not when he squandered a trillion dollars on “stimulus”, not when he caged illegal immigrants, not when he separated illegal immigrant families, not when he illegally spied on American citizens. Fact is, when the ends justifies the means, they simply don’t care what laws are violated.

The demokrats operate under a different set of “laws” those being guided by the Soviet principle of “show me the man and I’ll find you the crime”. How many times did we hear that Trump, Kavanaugh, and the Covington kids didn’t deserve the presumption of innocence and that it was up to them to prove their innocence?

I read an interesting post by someone on another site who floated the idea that Trump may have actually wanted to be impeached because it would result in a very public trial where he can expose the demokrats’ corruption in a very public way. In a way, being impeached by this bunch of Bolshevik bastards is actually a compliment to anyone who supports the principles this country was founded on.

The point wasn’t that he can be impeached for misdeeds committed before he took his oath. The point was that his misdeeds began long before he entered politics. This his normal pattern of behavior, and always has been.

He didn’t stop being a crook when he was sworn in. Right and wrong don’t actually concern him. He’ll do whatever he thinks he can get away with. If he can get away with cheating on his taxes, he’ll cheat. If he thinks he can get away with cheating to win an election, he’ll cheat. If he thinks lying and character assassination serves him, he’ll lie and slander. He’ll use every tool that works to his personal advantage, ethical or not. The question of ethics doesn’t enter in. This is demonstrated by a lifelong pattern of behavior.

A lot of people give him a pass because they believe his own personal interests somehow coincide with theirs, or with those of the nation as a whole. This is not the case. It’s only the idea he’s selling—because selling it is to his own personal advantage. This idea is Trump’s Ultimate Miracle No-stick Skillet. The presidency is his Really Big Score.

A million-million dollar per year deficit when the economy is going like gangbusters is probably the single most obvious indication that things are not really as wonderful as advertised. It’s the elephant in the room. Nobody talks about it. Too much money is being pocketed. There’s another elephant behind the sofa: the fact that the guy has misused and abused his powers of office to cover up his crimes, and continues to do so. Rudy—his latest fixer and bag man—continued plotting and scheming even while the investigation of the plotting and scheming was going on, confident that nobody who has direct knowledge of it will be allowed to talk. Yet something else is probably lurking behind the curtains.

@$$holes!

@Greg: anyone with life experience has things that their political enemies, or just run-of-the-mill assholes in the street, can bring up and and take umbrage over.

every president in my lifetime has the news routinely bring up something they did as proof positive as to why they shouldn’t be president.

The only president in my life to have their record sealed in an effort to try and obscure their past is Barack Obama.

You and your party have no grounds or any leg to stand on accusing Trump of any goddamn thing.

@Greg: T

his is demonstrated by a lifelong pattern of behavior.

I like his behavior. He’s blunt and says what he means. He uses bravado and exaggeration quite spiritedly. That would be a problem if he didn’t deliver the goods, but he does.

Like Patton and Churchill, he is a very special and powerful individual that obviously was needed as a bulwark against encroaching evil. A good person for everyday? Probably not. a good person to go to battle with all that’s wrong in this country? Yep.

your party, your values, and the organization you work for are losing ground. That’s what you fear.

@Nathan Blue:

@Greg: anyone with life experience has things that their political enemies,

One of those political enemies of Trump would be “Jabba The Hut” Jerry Nadler. Nadler hated Trump for getting New York City to side with Trump and against Nadler.

You and your party have no grounds or any leg to stand on accusing Trump of any goddamn thing.

You don’t seem to understand, the Democrats seem to think that a President seeking a judicial decision on his right to Executive Privilege is a crime.
