Vince Lattanzio @ NBC:
Former Philadelphia abortion doctor Kermit Gosnell has been found guilty on three of four counts of first-degree murder involving the deaths of four babies.
He was also found guilty of involuntary manslaughter in the overdose death of former patient Karnamaya Mongar. He will now face the death penalty in the sentencing phase.
According to court observers, as the verdict was read by the jury forman, Gosnell didn’t react at first. Once the full charges had been announced, he shook his head from side to side, trying to make eye contact with members of the jury.
The jury of seven women and five men weighed a total of 263 crimes against Gosnell with the most serious being four counts of first-degree murder.
The courtroom was locked down and reporters told to turn off all electronic devices as the jury read the verdict aloud. The jury read a verdict for each count before it was communicated with the public.
Earlier in the day, the jury told the court they were deadlocked on two counts. It is unclear on which charges the jury was deadlocked, however the group told the court it had reached a consensus on all other counts.
It appears that this is going to expand the public discussion into whether the physical location of a viable living baby (inside or outside of the womb) should make a difference. Going against the pro-late abortion crowd’s argument is today’s jury decision, the Castro kidnapping/imprisonment case, as well as numerous past court decisions whereby defendants were charged in the death of babies that were still in the womb.
If it is not murder to abort a late term baby, then how can you charge a person who (in committing an offense,) causes the death of an unborn child?
“If it is not murder to abort a late term baby, then how can you charge a person who (in committing an offense,) causes the death of an unborn child?” Great Point!!
Where the discussion goes when a little human is still inside the womb, and when a conscience decision has been made to abort….all I can say is THAT discussion will be quite heated… as if it is not already…War on Women and all…
What this guy did is inhuman…I just can’t wrap my mind around it…I cannot wrap my mind around it…If people really, Really KNEW what a late term abortion was about…if the next time they saw a little human a week old and picture what this doctor [and his aides] would do to finish off that little helpless human…. with absolutely no one, no one! to speak for them…not even a [sarc] so called “civil rights groups” the left likes to tout out…I would hope and pray to God they would not be able to wrap their minds around it either…truly horrible…
I am glad he was found guilty…I am sure God has a special place for him…

Food for thought:
Tampa doctor’s son accused of killing unborn child
This goes back to my question: “If it is not murder to abort a late term baby, then how can you charge a person who (in committing an offense,) causes the death of an unborn child? ”
So how is this not playing two sets of rules? The mother has a right to choose, but the father doesn’t? What if the father wanted the child but the mother didn’t? Under equal application of law regardless of sex, shouldn’t the mother be charged with murder? Yes the womb belongs to the mother, but the baby within requires half of each parent’s genes to even be created. Isn’t it sexist for the female partner to decide to have an abortion without even needing to consult the father?
What about those cases where a woman tells her partner that she is on birth control, (when she isn’t,) with a goal in mind of tying her male partner to her with the revelation that she is pregnant? Shouldn’t he, have the right to demand an abortion? It seems to me that if it’s legal for the female partner to decide, then the male partner should have the same right.
And then there are the illogical arguments by the pro-abortion crowd, that it isn’t a human life until it has been born. Well, if that’s the case, then how can it be claimed that this young man be charged with murder, and be possibly receive a life sentence, when every woman who decides to abortion the child can never be charged with murder?
It seems to me, that while women are allowed reproductive rights, men are only expected to have reproductive responsibilities. Hypocrisy?
Illegal immigrant rapes 12 year old girl, then when he learns she is pregnant, takes her to get an abortion.
Man Forces Pre-Teen Rape Victim to Abort at Planned Parenthood
Luis Gonzalez-Jose, 31, of Everson, Washington must serve a sentence of six years in jail, then leave the United States, after raping the young girl in her home while her mother was in the shower, according to documents filed in Whatcom County Superior Court.
Gonzalez-Jose brought the girl to a Planned Parenthood clinic in August of 2012, where she falsely told staff employed at the clinic that her 14 year-old boyfriend impregnated her. She said she could not give the boy’s name or address.
The documents indicate that, six weeks after the abortion, the girl told a police detective the truth–that Gonzalez-Jose had impregnated her and had insisted that “it would be best for her” not to have the baby.
Gonzalez-Jose pleaded guilty to second-degree rape of a child in April. The girl’s family, according to a Department of Corrections report, refused to cooperate with prosecutors.
The plea bargain was accepted, and a sentence of six years and eight months in prison was recommended, but only on the condition that Gonzalez-Jose leave the United States and never return afterward. Failure to comply with the condition would bring about a longer sentence, said the report.
