Obama mocks Republican position on immigration

Those stupid, stupid Americans who believe in the rule of law…..

In search of Hispanic votes and an immigration overhaul, President Barack Obama on Tuesday stood at the U.S.-Mexico border for the first time since winning the White House and declared it more secure than ever. He mocked Republican lawmakers for blocking immigration over border security alone, saying they won’t be happy until they get a moat with alligators along the border.

“They’ll never be satisfied,” he said.

Stymied by both chambers of Congress, the president ditched lawmakers in favor of voters who might pressure them, making an appeal to the public on a hot and dusty day far outside the beltway. He told a friendly El Paso, Texas, crowd that it’s up to them to tell Congress to pass legislation providing a pathway to citizenship for 11 million illegal immigrants.

The approach also allowed the president to make clear that it’s Republicans — not him — standing in the way of immigration legislation. As his re-election approaches it’s a message he wants broadcast loud and clear to Latino voters who don’t like his administration’s heavy deportations and feel he never made good on his promise to prioritize immigration legislation during his first year in office.

“I am asking you to add your voices to this,” Obama said in El Paso. “We need Washington to know that there is a movement for reform gathering strength from coast to coast. That’s how we’ll get this done.”

I heard only a portion of what Obama had to say from a clip that was on Hannity or O’Reilly? on Fox… “They” say..”They” say…”They” say … Boy, what a campaign speech – I promptly muted the TV…

Like I said in another comment, something ‘Significant’ is going to happen that is going to ‘jolt ‘ this country to the core…. I am not sure what it is, but it will be primarily because of people like Obama and his Liberal base, and most importantly – the ignorance of these same people – with their never ending ‘FAIL’ policies…

I have never believed a word of what “Janet Napolitano” our DOJ and the ilk have ever said….These people live and breathe the Washington DC air… they are too far removed from “reality” the reality of this America… and the things that are harming, and will forever harm us…

Using every opportunity to campaign ” is not Normal “.

I have to wonder. Obama doesn’t ‘really’ want to, or even knows how to “LEAD” our NATION or otherwise. He has shown this many times by his examples and choices (with one exception, which, I believe he was ‘forced’ into – bin laden). He “delegates” to others who are also ‘far removed’ from the regular folk… So, why on earth would he want another go at it? That is, if it’s not just for POWER?? ? Which many, if they are honest, and quit lying to themselves and the American people would agree. He spends more time doing “other” things, and dithers on what is really important…. EXCEPT for the ” Campaigning ” which is never ending for Obama…

Using every opportunity to campaign “IS NOT NORMAL”.

What the people who attended Obama’s El Paso speech don’t seem to grasp is that the very people that Obama is asking for them to get behind him in his quest to make illegals legal, and consequently Democratic voters, are the very people most affected by the problems with illegal immigration. Almost every border county in Texas is primarily of Hispanic ethnicity. And they are the ones who fear the drug cartels, the kidnappings, the drive by shootings, the violence that spills over from the Mexican side.

But Dr. John, I assume that you noticed that the videos of Obama’s speech at El Paso did not show the people who were attending. They were as lily white as you could get, with a spattering of Hispanic Democrats from the City of El Paso. But the citizens of El Paso fully comprehend that if bullets from the Mexican side can hit the City Hall, those bullets can also hit their kids playing in the yards of their homes.

It’s fine for a person to have the opinion that amnesty for illegals should be passed. This is still a free country (I think). It’s NOT fine for the leader of the United States to support, tacitly or otherwise, those who flout our laws. And why does the leader of this nation feel it’s perfectly fine to deride and mock a large portion of the electorate that disagrees with his position on amnesty? Words to describe the lack of competent leadership fail me…

Obama seems to think that pandering for an amnesty program (“gee, all those prospective voters sure look good to me” says Obama) to a basically lily white crowd in El Paso is going to give him some street cred with those that actually live in the border counties. It won’t.

You see, border counties are primarily Hispanic, and they understand that the border is the their greatest threat. They live with the daily drive-by shootings, the murder, kidnappings and rape that are all too common in their neighborhoods. They understand that bullets shot from the Mexican side of the border that hit the El Paso City Hall could have just as well hit one of their children playing in the yard of their homes. And they also understand that Obama is simply pandering, not to them, but to the very people who are causing all the problems in their neighborhoods, the illegals who are NOT here just to work and support their families back in a nation south of the U.S.
