Under Bush, JSOC was routinely smeared by the left and placed at the center of many Bush/Cheney conspiracy theories. Specifically, New Yorker reporter Seymour Hersh alleged it was Dick Cheney’s personal assassination squad: "After 9/11, I haven't written about this yet, but the Central Intelligence Agency was very deeply involved in domestic activities against people they thought to be enemies of the state. Without any legal authority for it. They haven't been called on it yet."
Hersh then went on to describe a second area of extra-legal operations: the Joint Special Operations Command. "It is a special wing of our special operations community that is set up independently," he explained. "They do not report to anybody, except in the Bush-Cheney days, they reported directly to the Cheney office. ... Congress has no oversight of it."
"It's an executive assassination ring essentially, and it's been going on and on and on," Hersh stated. "Under President Bush's authority, they've been going into countries, not talking to the ambassador or the CIA station chief, and finding people on a list and executing them and leaving. That's been going on, in the name of all of us."
And yet today, many on the left seem to think this all just fine and dandy, now that their guy is in office.
Which is cool with me, so long as they continue to miss the bigger picture. Namely, that we notice all this.
Seymore Hersh is what you would call a terrorist, racist, marxist liberal. Never really worked a day, but got fat off of articles pandering to the left. Every president in history has had an intelligence operation that reported to either himself or the VP. Operations were known in the past as “red cell” operatives. They were a very select group of individuals that carried out very dangerous and dirty jobs. Taking out the garbage is not a nice job, it requires work and a whole lot of patient. Hersh sits a lot better at night, enjoys and good life and got fat off of these operatives work. Syndicated writers make a lot of money, especially when they blow smoke of one’s leg. Do you think that brian williams is poor? Peter Jennings had front row seats at each nicks game. Here is how it went. Jennings would leave the evening report, jump into the waiting limo. than wisked through the back door to the game..America today, is not different that post cold war Russia..Smile..Seals..nice job….
Democrat President death squad good.
Republican death squad bad.
Democrat hypocrisy bad.
