Don’t go by the polls, follow the pols.

While liberals are making hay out of the fact that Republicans in Congress are held in lower esteem than their Democratic colleagues, the fact remains that 012 is shaping up to be 1980 on steroids for Democrats.

That is how it looks today.

Don’t go by what I write.

Check out the actions by our moral and intellectual superiors in Washington.

From Politico:

More than half a dozen senior congressional and White House aides have exited for K Street over the past several weeks, as veteran Democratic staffers head for the private sector.

House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi lost two senior aides. Terri McCullough, her personal office chief of staff, announced her departure Tuesday to become the executive director of the Tory Burch Foundation. And Stacy Kerr took a job as assistant vice president of communications at Georgetown University.

They are hardly alone. Rep. John Dingell (D-Mich.) lost his longtime chief of staff Mike Robbins, who was hired as director of government relations for the Air Line Pilots Association last month. Retiring Sen. Jeff Bingaman’s chief of staff Stephen Ward also headed downtown this month for Van Heuvelen Strategies, a firm started by Bob Van Heuvelen, former chief of staff to Sen. Kent Conrad (D-N.D.). Mike Hacker, a former senior aide to House Assistant Democratic Leader Jim Clyburn, joined HDMK in July.

For Ward and Hacker it isn’t their first time on K Street. Ward previously worked at EDS Corp as director of government affairs and Hacker worked at Quinn Gillespie & Associates.

K Street veterans and headhunters attribute the high Democratic turnover to fatigue from the high-intensity jobs, frustration with being in the minority in the House and lack of legislative accomplishments on the horizon.

Anti-Obama Outrage Erupts at Congressional Black Caucus! ‘When You Unleash Us … We’re Ready!’
(More like IF you unleash us…)

Sparks flew Tuesday during the Congressional Black Caucus “For the People Jobs Tour” town hall in Detroit, MI, as black caucus members told the mostly black audience to “unleash” them to confront President Barack Obama on the issue of jobs.

California Rep. Maxine Waters expressed her and other Black Caucus members’ dilemma of having to walk a line. As representatives from communities that have had great love for President Barack Obama, it can be anywhere from difficult to impossible for Waters and the other members to be as critical of the president as she wanted to be.

“We don’t put pressure on the president,” said Waters. “Let me tell you why. We don’t put pressure on the president because ya’ll love the president. You love the president. You’re very proud…to have a black man [in the White House] …First time in the history of the United States of America. If we go after the president too hard, you’re going after us.”

You MUST click on that MSNBC video!
What decorum….NOT!
How does anyone corral such an unruly mob?

Maxine Waters at 2:30 on the video says to Obama: the unemployment is unconsconable(sp?)
We don’t know what the strategy is.
Obama’s trip in America is not in any black communities.
And so on.

@Nan G:

I have a question: Exactly how many members of this Congressional Black Caucus are representatives of district the townhall was located in, or nearby surrounding districts?

Maxine Waters, for instance, is the representative for California’s 35th district, which includes parts of LA and surrounding communities such as Inglewood. Last time I checked a map, Detroit, MI was nowhere near LA, let alone CA.

Why are these representatives having a townhall meeting in areas that do not include their constituents?

@johngalt:
John Conyers was on the same platform with her, John.
Both are part of a Congressional Black Caucus “For the People Jobs Tour” that included this town hall in Detroit.
Much more about it here:

“The unemployment is unconscionable’. Multi-syllable words Maxine was able to pronounce. Maxine get a clue. The democrats like you and your husband, all of your leaders, have kept your black race on the plantation in the ghettos of the inner cities, with promises of free stuff, with abortions on demand. Free stuff and black baby killing that has disseminated the traditional black family. It’s not whitey that is keeping you down as the good Rev Wright would have you all believe, as he retires to a multi-million dollar mansion in a white neighborhood, with a pension that would lift 100 black families out of poverty. Wake up fool your people are being suckered by the likes of you.

the black people are angry, and from what I saw on FOX NEWS,
THEY HAVE LET OBAMA KNOW IN THE MEDIA.
I think the time has come for them too, they want a change,
and I can understand it, with all the lies the people have listen to,
there is an end to it, and 2012 will tell them.
